Clinton and I will not be able to attend as we have had a family member in hospital for weeks and have not been able to even think about our car let alone get it ready for a track day. Hopefully things will be resolved before the next track day and we can have our new GTR rear cradle built and in the car instead of being a pile of parts on the garage floor plus there are a range of other important jobs that also need to be done.

This ia a common problem in RB engines. Unique Autosports have a machined up stainless pipe that you just tap into place once you get the old rusty pipe out.

40 or 42 mm is the way to go as that will allow you to run the standard fan shroud and not have any clearance problems. If you run any larger then you can have clearance problems and also your motor can run too cold if it is in close to stock condition. I run a 40 mm core with about 230kw and have difficulty getting the car up to normal operating temps even at track days and at Sydney Drags.

I have had one of these in the past and had no confidence that it would actually charge the battery through the cig lighter socket so I wired it direct to the battery terminals. The best way to test this would be to set it up in the sun plugged in as suggested and then disconnect the battery and put a multi metre across the leads that connect to the battery terminals - if there is current there then it is charging and all is good otherwisre the charging via cig lighter option is crap.

I purchased it second hand from "Skyline Spares" in Sydney in very good condition for about $150 from memory and just cleaned it up before I installed it,

I have recently been down this path converting a Series 1.5 to a Series II. There are white plastic clips that sit on top of the front reo that the front bar locates into that are probably the clips that you are talking about. These space the bar in the right place and also provide a rub point between them to stop the front bar from rubbing the paint off the reo and creating rust spots. Here is a picture of them circled in red.

350z And Gtr Brembo Calipers
Victory replied to Scooby's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
How similar are the Brembo brakes that came on 350Z's and R33 / R34's? In the front they both run DB1520 pads and the rears run DB1521 - so if the pads are the same they they must be very similar. The difference seems to be in the disk offset as shown in the attached link http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=41147 So the big question is: Are the seal kits interchangeable as you can buy factory kits for 350Z's from the US for a very good price? -
It is good to see that you have finally got some nice nuts Neil! Yeah we recently converted all of our cars over to 17 mm nuts (although I had to go for the alloy option to match the rim colour) which resulted in additional sockets to carry in the cars to get them off if you have a flat.

I have a Series 1 with the same air bag steering wheel and it also has passangers air bag, abs and hicas (although it is a GTS-T). The best option would be to provide a picture of the blue build plate from the firewall so I can run it through the "Nissan Fast" program to see what options the car had from the factory.

This guy is cool and believe it or not he is using the same lines that Duncan was trying to show me at Wakefirld only a few weeks ago. Duncan's description of the line was a bit different though.

Leaking Fuel Cap In Track Situations
Victory replied to Victory's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Thanks for the advice guys - I have one of the filler necks that has not had a compliance restrictor installed so if I use that one then this problem should no longer exist and I can refuel the car quicker with the larger filler opening. -
On the street none of our R33's leak fuel from the fuel caps but whenever we go to a Texi or Wakefield Park we have fuel spilling out of the cap. We have tried three different caps to no avail and we only run the car with about half a tank of fuel when it is on the track so it is not over filled. On the street you can fill the tank to the point where you can see fuel just inside the cap and it never leaks. Whenever you open the fuel cap there is never any pressure build up issues so we are running out of things to try. Where to from here - what are other people doing to stop this annoying problem? Are there specific caps that seal better for use in motorsport situations?

I received the pictures on CD today from the Wakefield photographer and I was pleasently surprised. The CD had 260 images that were between 2 and 5.5 mg in size and quite good quality. As there were not a large number of cars on the day there is good coverage of all of the cars that were present. I think it was $25 well spent.

A big thanks to all of the organisers for another well run SAU event. Stevo and Dave - you would of had to have a bath in sun tan lotion to stop from getting burnt there on the pit wall - I remember spending a day on the pit wall at a previous SAU day at Wakefield and getting burnt big time. Our car ran well all day for it's first track day so we were very pleased even if I did have the honour of the first minor off for the day in the very first session with semi's that had not gripped up. Our only concern was the low water temp after fitting a Nismo thermostat as it would not go above 80 degrees so a standard thermostat may be the order of the day. Bring on the pictures.

For a very first shakedown run this thing was great straight "out of the box" and ran well all day with no mechanical issues. It looks like Clinton and I have been enlisted to find Neil a nice set of rims with a good offset and at the right price to complete the package. Congatulations Neil (with help from Duncan and others) for doing the R33 brigade proud.

I have been reading up on some of the regulations and items included as factory options can be run on the car provided they are included in the homologation documents that were submitted for the car or are included in factory option brouchers. I have recently obtained a factory options broucher that covers R33 GTS25T Series II and GTR's. The obvious items on your car are the side skirts and the front Nismo lip that were factory options. The GTR adjustable rear wing was also a factory option that may provide some improved aero over a stardard Series II wing at speed. If you are interested I can scan the broucher and email it to you if you have any difficulties with CAMS or other officials.

She sure looks the part I was talking to Brad at the "Legends Dinner" and he was saying that with the new paint the interior came up looking first class and from the pictures he was not kidding - well done Neil and Duncan. Now all you need to do is have her completed for the Wakefield day in a few weeks for a shakedown run.

Thanks for confirming that you have received my payment for me and my family. You are right that protecting peoples privacy is important and I think last time the list just indicated either the forum name and the number of tickets or the company name and number of tickets.
