  1. For people like myself and others who are travelling some distance for this event it would be good if SAU could provide some form of conformation of our booking because the payments for this event occured over a period of time. This could be either a list of the participants or a PM to each participant confirming receipt of payment and their booking.
  2. I would try checking everywhere to see where the oil spilt as transmission oil smells bad any time without burning it. I would then be trying to wipe it off or if it is in a spot that you cannot get to then hit it with some degreaser but make sure that you hose it off well. There could be some that is on the side of the gearbox and it is slowly dripping into the exhaust - it only takes a few spots on the exhaust to smell bad.
  3. I am approaching this from the opposite direction R33 GTS-T to GTR running gear. At this point I have a GTR dash, seats and trim installed. I am currently building a full GTR cradle and diff to drop in with Bilstein PSS9 shocks for the December track day. I have modified GTR Bilstein PSS9's to fit the GTS-T front suspension and retain the correct ride height and adjustability. I also have all of the GTR additional braces for the floor, behind the motor and inside the boot to stiffen up the chassis. Next on the list is a full set of GTR Brembo brakes to complete the running gear. If I really start to get serious I also have a full GTR front (guards, bonnet, front bar, reo, grille etc) that I had painted to match the car when it was resprayed packed away in the shed. I hope to have the handling and performance of a GTR, with the running costs of a GTS-T and lap times somewhere between the two.
  4. You can add Clinton and me to the list - all I have to do now is get the forms in and money paid tonight.
  5. It really comes down to what sort of oil you are using. Some oils are very detergent in nature and go black almost straight away (oils in diesel engins for example) other oils like fully synthetic ones behave differently. I have found that Motul Chrono comes out of my engines after 5,000km looking very clean and not much different to when it went in. What type of oil are you using?
  6. I have both sitting side by side and they are different in shape in some areas. The basic design shows a lot of similarity and you can see that one evolved into the other. If it would help when it stops raining I could take some pics and post them up.
  7. You have PM - I have some cheap 18 x 8.5 and 18 x 9.5
  8. What are you doing for oil management in the head? Are you installing the usual drain where the welsh plug goes in the back of the head down to the sump?
  9. It is one of the three bleed nipples on a R33 clutch. 1 Clutch master cylinder 2 Clutch flexible line 3 Clutch slave cylinder All three have to be bleed to set a clutch up properly.
  10. Fatz - that sounds about right - we have four Skylines and that way there is always at least one or two going while the other ones are undergoing a build phase or upgrades or repairs. Problem solved
  11. The plastic tubing is the breather pipe for the battery and should plug into the top of the battery so that any fumes go outside the car and not in the boot.
  12. The wind tunnel tests for the standard wing blade shows it generates different levels of downforce and drag depending on the angle that it is set at as per the factory GTR broucher. The genuine R33 GTR N1 has a built in lip to generate even more downforce than the standard wing blade. You can still buy these from Nissan for the pricely sum of $4,200 and they weight just a few grams (I know because I have one) or you can buy the more affordable fiberglass copy that is covered in carbon fibre to look like the real thing and not break the bank.
  13. One of my GTS-T's came with an old worn set of keys so I took the key to a local locksmith who put the key in a machine to measure it and create the code number for it. They then cut a key to the code and gave it to me to check in the car locks. When I confirmed that it worked perfectly they gave me a printout of the code so that I can have keys cut from the code instead of an existing key in the future - this way you get a perfect key every time. The only problem is finding a local locksmith that has the equipment to cut a key from the code and most of the small key cutting services can only copy a key from one that you provide.
  14. What do you mean remember - my 1951 Peugeot 203 still has these fitted to it on a set of 16 x 4 factory rims. This was an informative night with a number of questions answered both during the presentation and the subsequent discussions.
  15. IN and payment made. This was sooo good last year that I would not want to miss it.

  21. I spend so much money on tyres a little extra tyre knowledge would not go a stray - count me in.
  22. Does anyone have any pictures of my car as my camera was on the blink and I did not get any shots?
  23. Before I fork out my hard earned cash for the entry fee can we please confirm that this day at Wakefield will be going ahead as planned and that the only change is that it will now be run by SAU?
  24. Is there a problem with the entry form as I am getting an error when I attempt to download it?
  25. Thanks for the info guys - see you on Saturday. This will be the first time that the new car has had a run in anger with half of the good bits on it.
