What Replacement Seats For R33 Gtst Work?
Victory replied to FalahR33's topic in General Maintenance
R33 Series II have the widest flattest seats of any of the R32 to R34 Skylines and I normally install one of these as the passenger seat in one of my cars if I want to take a large person for a drive. What seats are in your car? -
Looking For A Western Sydney Shop Plug.

The question is what hourly rate are they charging you ($120 - $140) and how many hours are they allowing for the job? This can be a pain in the ass job if the pulley on the crankshaft does not come off easy and I have first hand experience with this on my GTR. It can take hours to heat it up and get the seal to crack and let it come off. The other thing is that none of the remainder of the job is difficult it is just time consuming and you are paying by the hour for the job. Back in the Skyline heyday the going rate was around $1,500 for labour plus parts from Nissan who were charging $300 per idler bearing - great money if you can get it. Good luck with your search and it you can get the job done by a shop that you trust for less than $1,000 you will be going well. -
I am of the opinion that they are the same animal - because they hold the same amount of fuel and I cannot see any difference in the external shape. Are there some internal differences or is the pump arrangement different? The reason for the question is that GTS-T tanks are a dime a dozen.

It is a worry Mark to see you join the hairdresser brigade!!! How are you going to cope with the following: the lack of power means that you have to have actual driving skills to maintain mid corner speedthe excitement of trying to explain to the boss why you spent $1000 fixing the car this week and then do it all over again next week. (I have four R33's registered at the moment so at any point in time there will be at least one working)not having the power to break / wear out things all of the time means that you just have to put fuel in it and drive it. What are you going to do with all of the extra time that you will have on your hands? It will be different being able to buy parts for normal prices instead of inflated Skyline prices.Coming from a four cylinder NA background it would be hard to go back but you will be like Chubbs continuously bragging about how cheap it is to run a MX5 and set good lap times........

Neil should be able to give you some tips on the best way to get up Huntley. Clinton and I have been going to do it for a while but there are a few difficult turns half way up and there are no run off areas if you come undone. It would be easier in the MX5 because you would be more concerned with being smooth and maintaining mid corner speed instead of our point and shoot approach. It is usually a good event - depending on what we have on we may call down and say hello.

Terry please add Clinton and me to your list

The plug in the top picture is for the A/C fan that should be in front of the radiator and is not there.

The AME Circular rims are a 2 piece wheel which have the centre welded to the rim lip with one long continuous weld on the inside face of the wheel and you cannot disassemble them. The rim section is normally polished and then covered in clear coat. With time the clear coat gets a lot of tiny stone chips and water gets in under the clear coat and starts to corrode making them look crap. This is what happened to my Circulars and it took about 4 - 5 hours per rim to sand off the clear coat by hand with wet and dry sandpaper and then polish each rim. I would suggest that this has happened to these rims sometime in the past and the previous owner has simply sand blasted them and painted them silver. Looking back this is what I should have done to mine instead of wasting four days sanding and polishing them up.

That is good news - I was afraid that Cheryl was going to take some fixing.

The Motul web site still shows 4100 Turbolight 10W40 as still being available however most retailers are out of stock of this product. Just Jap have recently received supplies of the replacement oil Motul H-Tech 100 Plus 10W40 (I purchased some last week) so I would suggest that the other retailers will also receive stock of this in the near future. This oil is that new that it is not even listed on the Motul site.

Colour? Series 1 or Series II? Location? Condition? Indicators and fog lights included? -
You can always buy a new set from Nissan - however the last time I priced them for just the rubbers on the doors and the door openings on the body it came to just over $2,000.

Finding a seat that is right for you is the challenge - many seats look good but when you sit in them they do not fit you and are not comfortable. Your biggest issue is going to be finding a seat that is narrow enough to hug your body and stop you from moving sideways in the seat. I am 75kg and 180cm tall and I had great trouble finding something narrow enough to lock myself in. Set yourself a price point as well as some seats cost over $2k which is hard to justify unless you are made of money. I run R33 and R32 GTR seats as everyday seats and OMP WRC seats for track days etc. Another thing you may have to consider is a quick release for your steering wheel as with a well fitting seat you may have difficulty getting in and out with the steering wheel in place. Good luck with your search and make sure you spend time sitting in seats from many suppliers before you select one.

R33's are very simple to change to lock on. There is a bolt on the edge of the door that you simple undo and out comes the lock (much easier than on a R32 to do). Then you just unhook the little arm that connects to the lock.

Sau Nsw Tech Night: Suspension & Steering @ Heasman 06/09/13
Victory replied to xntrq's topic in Events Archive
Hi Brad and welcome to Skylines Australia NSW. My son Clinton and I have been experimenting with suspension components for a number of years now and have accumulated a collection of Buddy Club, Ohlin and Pedders shocks before we went down the Bilstein path. During this time we have received a degree of assistance and advice from your staff plus a number of components through this journey. On our R33 GTS-T we started with PSS9's from a GTR with fabricated spacers due to the difference in shock length between GTR's and GTS-T's. To reduce unsprung weight and clearance issues we then moved on to Eibach springs with Pedders top mount blocks that allowed the use of standard top hats instead of the HKS style which chop the bushes out in a very short time. We then focused on the rear suspension and decided to install a completely refurbished GTR rear cradle to improve our drive train and allow the use of matching Bilstein PSS9 shocks. Again we went down the path of Eibach springs with Pedders top mount blocks that allowed the use of standard top hats to reduce unsprung weight. We have been very impressed with the quality of the Bilstein product and we a now working through what seems to be a never ending set up and adjustment adventure. I hope that you and your staff can provide some advice with ride height changes and the impact on roll centre and roll couple pertcntage. -
I would support Russell's comments on these upper suspension arms as they are a good piece of kit. When the top arm moves through the suspension travel range the top arm attempts to twist which it cannot normally do and instead it chops out you top arm bushes. This design has a pivot point in the middle of the arm which allows rotation reducing friction and saving your bushes from damage. To test this if you take the spring out of your front coil over and push the suspension up through the travel range you will feel the friction as the suspension attempts to twist the top arm. With these UAS arms in place the suspension movement has this friction removed because the top arm can twist on the pivot point as it moves up through the suspension travel range.

Hi Dave Will you be at the Tech night on Friday and if so can you bring some kits with you?
