  1. everything i was going to say has already been said. If I knew it was going to be this much hassle, I would've gone into autobarn or wherever and bought the thing off them instead. I do realise that most of the old women who work for australia post are rude, self-righteous, ignorant and totally incompetent. In my experience, if you want something done, you're better off talking to the manager/postmaster. all i want is the goods i paid for, i don't think that is being unreasonable. anyway, hopefully third time lucky.
  2. funny you should say that. I'm actually an industrial electrician. but i mainly work with VSD/VFD's, plant control systems and PLC's etc. so i don't get to play with this stereo stuff too much. I understand that the speakers work off AC voltage. but is it a variation in the AC voltage that tells the speaker to pump out either a bass note or a treble note. or is it a variation in the frequency of the AC voltage that tells it which note to play. i'm more worried about possibly wiring the speakers out of phase and reducing the sound quality. I'm a bit confused as to why there is a freq/voltage change on the + on the pass. side and a freq/voltage change on the - on the drivers side. the - on the pass. side seems to be a ground and the + on the drivers side also seems to be a ground. hope this is clear enough. any help would be much appreciated.
  3. g'day all, I'm installing some Focal K2p's in the car and i'm running them off a rockford P4004 amp. I have an alpine 9851 head unit. Any way, I'm not too familiar with the ins and outs of sound systems when it comes to signals etc. my intuition tells me that the signal the speakers reproduce sound from is frequency based, not voltage based. is this right? if so, i'm wondering why on the passengers side of the car the + shows a change in freq on my meter and the - shows no signal but on the drivers side its the - that shows the signal and the + shows none. is it something to do with the principles of stereo signals? i'm just after an answer before i go hooking up the speakers.
  4. just go pick yourself up an aston martin v8 vantage. I would love to have one as my next car.
  5. mobil and bp share storage facilities. so i imagine that the fuel they use is also the same. Not sure on the ultimate/synergy similarities though.
  6. if you have a rear strut bar you could hang it off that. i ended up doing that and putting an 8" sub beside the battery. i'll post some pics later.
  7. g'day all, just wondering if you can move the hicas computer in an r33. just a bit worried that it might have something in it that requires it to be mounted in the factory location. any help would be much appreciated, thanks
  8. G'day mate, i'll buy it, you have a PM cheers
  9. Here's an answer for ya, 2720mm. mines a "straight" series 2 ("straight" being that as far as i know it hasn't been bent) enjoy!
  10. G'day all, just wondering if anyone has a series 2 front lip, sideskirts and rear pods lying around that they might wan't to get rid of. even if someone can point me in the right direction to buy some, it would be much appreciated. Thanks all
  11. how much?

  13. G'day, Just wondering if any of you lads would be able to change the colour of this stag to XR6 orange for me. I'd give it a go myself but I don't have photoshop. I'm looking at selling my skyline and importing a tired stagea from japan, putting a MASA R34 kit on it, paint it orange and whack a set of dark 18 inch rims on it. Any help would be much appreciated. The pics are below, one is clearly the colour i would like to paint it, and the other is the pic i would like photochopped. Thanks
  14. Bump, this is a good exhaust, it's still in its packing!
  15. Just some info on maxxis for anyone who's interested. Maxxis are a rubber technology company that have been in the bicycle tyre market for a fair while, they actually sponsor Steve Larsen who is ranked no. 1 in the US for cross country cycling. Their HQ is in the U.S. They've only started braching out into car tyres in the last few years, hence the price. Their car tyres are manufactured in taiwan. I've got victra 235/40 r17 on the front and victra 255/40 r17 on the back of my line and they're fantastic for the price. anyway, just thought i'd put in my 2 bobs worth.
  16. The cars bog stock and i've been using BP Ultimate, its the only 98RON fuel you can get in cairns. sounds like nothing to worry about too much. Thanks everyone.
  17. g'day all, just having a look over my 'line this arvo and found a thin film of black dust all over the back of the car. looks like carbon or something. Theres no smoke coming out of the back of the car so its not like burnt oil or nothing. I'm thinking it might be brake dust, but i'm interested to see if anyone else has had anything like it on theirs. might just be be road grime too but i figured it wouldn't hurt to ask..
