  1. I know you probably came on here expecting us to say that it's a good idea to buy the car and so on and so forth.... But realistically, we're only telling you the things you've already heard from everyone else you've asked. So theres no point getting shitty. If I were in your position, I'd prolly buy a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 for under $10000, use the rest to put a knock policy on it, rego it and give it a general clean up. Pros: -VR-4's are an awesome bit of kit, so you wouldn't be driving a shittah. -You can still get an insurance rating on a knock policy. -You'll prolly have some change for maintenance, insurance excess, running costs etc. Cons: -You're inexperienced, so you may end up hurting yourself, or worse, someone else. -The car may get stolen, but $10000 isn't that much on the scheme of things. Thats about as rosy as its gonna get. Oh, and just because most of us drive skylines now, doesn't mean we've never had to drive a crap car. We're all talking from experience, so you'd do well to listen.
  2. I guess this isn't happenin then....
  3. check this out... 5th gear radar detector test, goes for about 10 mins. It's got a good part about jammers.
  4. yeah, so many good drives up this way. used to go up the kuranda range, down the rex range drive back to cairns along the coast, up the gillies and home down the kuranda. takes in all three of the best drives up this way, you can usually do it in about a day if you stop and have lunch and whatnot. the road up to copperlode dam is also a bit of fun if you can get a clear go. theres a good photo spot that looks out over cairns on the way up. Nice car by the way, haven't seen you around yet....
  5. thats the one! my paint was fine after a clay, a fine cut and a wax. there was no permanent damage. The only reason i want one is coz i'm lazy and i don't wanna do it again.
  6. anyone know where i would be able to get a car bra for a series 2 R33. I've seen a picture in someones signature that shows a black series 2 with the car bra on, i just can't remember who. I'm gonna be driving to brisbane in a couple of weeks, and i don't really want every bug on the way down to crash and burn on my bonnet. I've still got faint streaks from the last trip i went on. any help would be appreciated, cheers
  7. you tried sticking duct tape / gaffa tape to the sticker, rubbing it on, leaving it for a while and then ripping it off. did it on the work van the other day trying to keep the door closed and when i ripped it off it took the paint with it...
  8. you could try a pretty heavy cut & polish compound, eucalyptus oil or "Pascoes OOMF Glue remover" which you can get at woolies in the cleaning aisle. failing that, take it to a automotive paint specialist and see what they reckon....
  9. The dude selling this grille hasn't even been on the forum since june. prolly safe to say he's either sold it or isn't going to reply to your messages. I've been looking for one of these grilles for a while but they're about as rare as hen's teeth. guess its back to scouring yahoo japan.....
  10. gold mate, thanks. so i take it you match the hi beam, parkers and foggies with 6000K bulbs then. for continuity.
  11. whats the go with low and hi beam, which one do you replace? i'm guessing the Hid is only for hi beam. so what do you do to match the low beam, parkers and fog lights? just let me know what the go is, i've got the money waiting. cheers
  12. put me down for a set of fronts and rears for a series 2 r33. black leather with red double stitching please. is it possible to get the velour door trim style fabric as an insert for the middle of the seats? cheers
  13. mods could you please delete cheers
  14. Yeah i'm interested in a whole set too for an r33. The length issue is a bit of a worry though, don't really want to spend all the money only to find they are too short. Also, can they do it in red white and black rather than red white and grey? might look a bit better on a silver car is all. if you can confirm that you can at least get the length right for an r33, i'll be in.
  15. thanks, i'll keep that in mind mate. but at the moment, i think i'm just gonna wait for someone with the $17k.
  16. cheers man, you've got plenty to choose from down south. bumparoo
