  2. LOOOOUD NOISES http://s30.photobucket.com/user/whitesi/media/GTR/gtrdyno_zpssif7jjec.mp4.html finally got it down to decs at G7 for a full tune.to my surprise it did pick up more top end power on the same boost. we did however swap out the boost bleed valve for an electronic one simply because the haltech can manage it itself, but it has given a more stable boost level on high rpm. so the result before running out of injector room as 277rwkw. we tuned it very slightly back down to 271 because we were above 90% duty cycle. very similar power curve but just more everywhere and everything as usual coming on allot harder. we had no cooling issues even with hours of holding revs which is nice. still, not bad for a stock motor, stock turbos. compared to the old one at 258 i too it on the SlowLife cruse through the hills and gave it 2 hours of hard time which it oved. god it is so much more snappy. the midrange is amazing. now time for brakes..... if anything i was rappidly running out of effective breaking power and thats never a good feeling. also the gtr met its father! comming from the r31 world... this is a rare find.
  3. mine also has had some idiot perfectly clean the throttle bodies. with the idle screw all the way down it still idles at 1200. I fixed that with the haltech but prior, I just could not get the idle comfortably under 1k with the seal gone.
  4. if its a 26 don't clean the throttles, you will remove the sealing film and this will make a high idle worse.
  5. i gotta say man, you make new threads for the weirdest reasons.
  6. ok so, thanks for all the feed back and the companies you have used. I have done allot of shopping. I finally landed on an insurer. interestingly it is also NRMA classic (well its actually SGIC vintage but same same) they went through what the cars has and all of the details and this is what I came up with: 1989 gtr 120k (haltech, wheels, exhaust, stereo, coilovers) $30,000.00 agreed value windscreen and glass cover roadside assistance choice of repairer $44 a month $300 excess. I can drive it 10 times a month and must be garaged safely im bloody happy with that price and the fact that they are happy to cover me for what I think is a good amount for my car. don't let your gtr be uninsured. I would use my car as a baseline tbh, oldest standard model possible with minimal average mods in good condition.
  7. posting to find it again in a couple of days and to remind me to buy it.
  8. I was about to say, I would hate to see your bank balance now
  9. it would have been very unlikely that a dealer spent 12k importing a 33.... if you like it mate, buy it. but that's high money for it. you would want to keep it cos no ones ever gonna offer you more than 8 for it again.
  10. so.... google it. btw, I googled it. its a stock ecu
  11. would buy a 34 gtt for 14
  12. I don't remember which forum it was but when creating a fs post you had to select for sale or WTB aswell as the state. the forum would put it where it needed to go, it was also easy cos you could define state in your search.
  13. good idea, good layout. I think the paying traders should be top most. then forsale / wtb
  14. it is cheap... its a big sticker.
  15. I did an r34 gauge holder with cf overlayed. looked ok. http://s30.photobucket.com/user/whitesi/media/r43/imag1844_zpsfdc5330a.jpg.html
