  1. ITS A GIRL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean... welcome. what are then plans so far?
  2. stock early models had blue dials but as for the nismo guages, mines an 89 and they look like this if that helps at all.
  3. received the tires, unfortunately i stuffed up the tire speed calculation (yep did it backwards in my head....derp). my speedo error reads to high already, the new diameter for my wheels means it will now read higher again not lower so they really dont suit which sucks. still unfitted which sucks cos the tread pattern looks so nice re listed in sa http://www.sau.com.au/forums/index.php?app=forums&module=post&section=post&do=new_post&f=12
  4. purchased these from angel13th recently. unfortunately i stuffed up the rolling speed calculation for my wheels. my speedo reads too high, the new rolling diameter for my wheel means the my new speedo will read higher again, not lower so they just don't suit my needs.... which sucks. so: Fs: Potenza RE01R 235/40/17 located in Adelaide fronts %70 rears %50 still unfitted purchased for $250 will sell for $200 to move them on quickly. original add for more info http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/454785-fs-potenza-re01r-2354517/#entry7497229 i can provide discount freight aslo (it cost me only $50 to get them from nsw to sa for example) Pm me or txt o41314543o
  5. whats the offset on the VARSTONs what are the tires like?
  6. yeah its been slow since yesterday
  7. did not know this, do they have any flex fuel capabilities?
  8. im assuming by "leakdown test" you mean a wet compression test? i.e bit of oil in the cylinder then retested? if your results went up that much it is more than likely poor ring-bore sealing. afaik a head gasket issue usually gives you banana readings, low on one end or on adjacent cylinders, obviously due to being warped. bent valves usually shows on the one cylinder you bent it on... i would imagine bending all of them is possible but yeah you would have heard that. plus it would be the result of a timing belt gone walkabouts so you would know. but like everything all 6 rings worn is no better as its just as big of an issue. what colour is the smoke, blue? pillow white is an unusual symptom if your coolants fine, and turbo issues wouldn't do anything to compression.
  9. love the little smoke trick
  10. that does sound like a contradiction.
  11. I have done a bit of a search but come up empty, hopefully someone can help. i want to mount a hydraulic jack in the boot of the gtr. hopefully right up forward behind the backseat. i remember seeing a mounting bracket which held the jack and bar with an easy release. does anyone know where these can be found, or would it be a custom thing?
  12. speedo sensor or speedo cable i would guess
  13. hey man, was good to see and drive the car when i had the opportunity. kinda glad you kept her and decided to keep building. any news, any progress?
  14. just uses double sided tape afaik how much was the mounting hardware? what did it consist of? would love to take mine apart clean and re fit
  15. So in case anyone is wondering, you can fit 4 tires in the gtr cabin.
  16. amazed these havnt sold, im looking at weds atm and there not cheap. if they were a square set i would grab them in a heart beat.
  17. if the heater hoses are leaking (under your plenum, passenger side btw) then removing your heater box will do nothing. its leaking before that. just get them replaced otherwise you will just piss coolant out. there is nothing to block. even if you could block them by the time you got to them..... its a hose, just replace it.
  18. Well for now im still in refurbish mode so lots of little jobs and simple things. i have an ever growing list which im slowly plugging away at. Im going to the adelaide hills next week to see Josh @ Forge performance who i met on a cruse a while ago, we got talking about a few things. but for now were just redoing the 100,000k service which was done on the car prior to me buying. The idler pulley is noisy due to, i assume, being over tightened. i have already done all the other belts and hoses ect so only need to do timing belt, water pumps pulleys ect. maby even the diff bushes and the likes if we find time. I still need to have my throttle bodies adjusted properly as i have a 1200rpm idle and no more adjustment left on the idle control valve. we were supposed to address this when we did the heater hoses but somehow the boys at paul pavlou managed to do them quickly without removing the plenum. black magic.... so im hoping the TBs have just been cleaned incorrectly and we can just use the Tomei re-sealing stuff otherwise yeah its the whole reset and adjust job which i understand i a labor intensive job and something i should not attempt myself. I also purchased some RE01 tires which should get fitted next week as, well you saw the tires im currently on are totally gone. Im still cleaning up the interior, tossing up between replacement mint condition gtr seats or going brides, aswell as replacing trims like c pillars and y'know all the usual suspects. if i find time this weekend i will rewire the stereo and replace the speakers with something half decent until i feel like spending good money for something quality, but i have an amp and a little sub doing nothing. looking forward to more interesting plans- new swaybars, maby new coilovers. new wheels with proper fitment, probably 18X9.5+12 ish new turbos for more response and reliability eventually go haltech and maby a simple e85 setup. still no plans to chase big power numbers, maby 300 ->350atw kw on a conservative tune. and just kinda go from there, depending on what crops up during daily life and what becomes available along the way. i did consider trying my hand at a full car vinyl wrap in a crazy colour for funzies... might still give this ago but its just a fun thing i have always felt like doing. i know how far-removed that is from keeping a "clean stockish GTR"
  19. really well, i have touched it on parking sleepers, pressure washed it, driven every day, holding up surprisingly well. ill throw a picture up later
  20. yellow seats are a bit how'ya'goin.
