    hard one, i wouldnt buy a tv without turning it on and flicking on a blueray however when you have a powerfull car that needs to be driven with some respect, you have to be wary of test pilots. i would suggest testdrives to select people, i would have no problem telling someone no, or take a deposit aslong as it runs as it should, a test drive at legal speeds and possibly a hard push by the owner with the buyer in the passenger seat to experiance that it can do what it sais.

    guilty untill proven innocent, same as suspected defects given by unmechanically minded or trained police officers..... but thats another can of worms.

    get the toe checked. basically get the whole allignment checked, especially if you already know its out. check the current tire wear
