  1. Hey mate, Just wondering if you would be intyerested in selling the AFM's individually. I currently require just one to help get the car running so it can be prepped for a rebuild which will utilise different AFM's. I dont really want to purchase 2 of them. I understand if you would prefer not to as well. Thanks mate.
  2. Hey Is128, did you end up finalising the sale on the Power FC, Controller & AFM's.
  3. hey guys, i have spent almost all day reading up different threads to find something similar to what im dealing with and this is the closest so far. i recently had some pretty big leaking from my injectors on my 1990 R32 GTR (so bad it was actually dripping from all the way down at the bell housing under the car), after changing out the sels n rings the two problem injectors where still leaking. Luckily a friend had some spare working GTiR injectors which he sent me for FREE!! (anything free is just awesome) haha. I swapped out the two leaking ones and everything seemed to be good, no leaking or fuel smell. Took the car for an hour and a half run to gold coast from northern NSW and it was running quite smooth. spent a night up there having a few "spirited" drives and returned the next day. while returning back down d coast i noticed a few times that there didnt seem to be full power under the accelerator but nothing much and once i put my foot down it would start pulling like always. 30-40 minutes later near byron bay the car started spluttering and struggleing so bad i could barely get it to accelerate and with my foot in a consitatnt position it was as if i was bliping the throttle, after bout 30secs-1min of me freaking out and trying to get to a spot to pull over the problem cleared and the car seemed back to normal. so i keep driving keeping a very watchful eye on everything and it seemed fine for a while. i then noticed that when it felt a bit low on power again a few times while cruising, & even while travelling around 80km on the highway, if i put it in neutral and didn't accelerate the car would completely stall even once bring up the check light for a few seconds while still moving along. a bit firther down the road and it started spluttering n freaking out again to the point where i could barely accelerate, or even keep the revs up. again after another 30-1min it returned to running fine. i pulled over once i got to a nice big carpark to check what i could see and nothing looked wrong and car was running fine again, so took it home and parked it. I have read to check and clean the AAC and IAC, which i will be doing today, and also that it could be a crankangle sensor, or AFM's, or O2 sensor, or engine temp sensor, or faulty coil packs, or even ECU. can anyone help who may have experienced something similar. i no this is a long post and am sorry to jack the thread but i am at wits end and need to drive the car 10hrs down to sydney in a few day and dont really want this to happen again. i am going to try to look at all these things but currently dont have a scan tool or much time so i want to try and narrow down my search. thanks heaps guys.
  4. like a few others my guage show really low sometimes. i was just wondering what the pressure should be at while idling n driving on highways and such! after reading this thread im going to try get an aftermarket oil pressure guage today and check it all properly but i need to know what would be classed as a good pressure?? thanks guys
  5. I'd be interested to find out more on this one... im getting 9's and would love to know what mods helped get 363kw on 18psi! Cheers Kristian
  6. yeah GTR R32.... i will definately be puttin on the dumpies when i do the turbo's. i already have a full turbo back system waiting under my bed!! lol Cheers
  7. Hey Guys, Quick update, just got the car back over the weekend after exactly 2years 4months and 24 days out of action. Initially the car was meant to have everything done as previous mentioned in this thread, but after speaking to my mechanic and not really having my list finalised we decided to just do all the things to get it back on the road. Pulley Kit (one of the tensioner bearings was way gone, hence why it was off the road for so long), New Belts, hoses, seals, compression and leak down tests, cleaned injectors, service etc...... and i must say WOW.... i have missed this car!! I know that the fact i haven't driven it in a few years adds to the overall impression it made on me but how quick are these things standard?? it was such a thrill to just jump back in my stock standard car (or as close to stock as possible) and just have that much fun. Anyways the good news is upgrades are still going ahead but no longer limited by a budget (kind of), my mission now is to suss out all the parts i will be changing and get them all together so that the next round of mods is quick and painless. The final listing is as follows:- - GT 2860 ..... -9's x 2 - Apex'i PFC with Controller - Dual Stage Boost Controller - 2 x Z32/Nismo AFM's (i dont think it will matter too much either way) - Hi-Flowed/Ported Std Exh. Manifolds - FMIC (my uncle won one and doesn't have a turbo car... long story) & Hard Pipes - Adj. Cam Gears - Nismo 550cc Injectors - Turbo Back Exhaust 3" from cat back (already have) - Spitfire Coil Packs Its probably a little more than the minimum requirments for -9's but i want to also try to build some reliability into the engine. Im hoping that this will give me the little extra power with out sacrificing response or engine safety. I will be looking at purchasing these thing over the next few weeks/months, so if anyone has anything for sale please let me know. Otherwise thank heaps for all the input, i hope other people find this thread and other related ones on SAU as useful as i did. been looking around and still haven't found any.... -9's are harder to find than -7's. you might have to give me a hint??? Sorry my mistake.... it is a full turbo back system but its 3" from Cat back. Dump pipes keep the exh and wastegate air separate for longer. Thanks guys i'll deffinately be going down this path. Tell me about it, i think all skyline owners have experienced this. The worst for me is when i first got the car and the oil filter was siezed up bigtime, it seriously took like 4 hours, multiple screw drivers and hammers to do an oil change. Do it enough times and you'll slowly develop your own way. I can do it now with great concentration and minimal spillage I heard awhile ago that the factory airboxes were pretty good. I remember one of the guys at JusJap offering me a full complete HKS pod kit for a straight swap with my factory box.... NO WAY MAN!! lol Thanks again everyone. I look forward to keepiong everyone update on my progress and hopefully have a some pics, timeslips and dyno print outs soon enough. Cheers Kristian (KrayzieGTR)
  8. Garrett -9's - $2300???? where abouts can i get them for that price?? Guys thanks heaps for everyone's input. Thats what i like most about SAU is that everyone is willing to help out by putting thier ideas and experiences forward. I already have a full turbo back 3" mandrel exhaust at home ready to go on with everything else. The car also already has a bosch in tank, nismo pressure reg. I definately think -9's are for me. I dont need excessive power or anything (i thought my car stock had a fair bit of go) but i would like something obviously reliable, quick spooling and more potential for top end. I dont want the delemma of getting -7's and needing to get new turbo's if i ever wanted that bit more. R31 Nismoid thanks for the information. just a quick question thou, you mention 550cc injectors... aren't these stock size?? if not im guessing they will fit with the stock fuel rail?? Nismo AFM's.... really?? any idea on where to get hold of these?? i thought that z32's were the best choice upgrade when maintaining the stock ECU or PFC..... this is again why i love this site!! I think i would still be happy going with the PFC instead of a nitune board or the like, again it will just allow for more control and a little more future potential, but thanks for the alternative. im pretty much now looking at:- - Garrett -9's - Power FC w/ Control - Nismo AFM's - 550cc?? injectors - Adj. Cam Gears - turbo back hi-flowed 3" exhaust - Coil Packs (i guess if required) would yellow jckets do or spitfires better?? - Head Gasket (lower compression slightly) Already have:- - Fuel Pump - Fuel Press Reg. I think from the information i have this should be a good balanced package with everything needed to maintain a bit of engine safety. Thanks everyone your help is priceless. Thanks for the dyno print out semislick. i your right when you say that is an important thing to enjoy what you spend your hard earned dollars and time on. Dave, I have had my 1990 model R32 import for about 4-5 years now and i can honestly say that with out any real mods (well that i was aware of anyway) i could easily eat clubsports, R8's, Monaro's... anything V8! especially from a stand still!! Lag??? how can a V8 owner talk about lag??? its not like they jump out of the hole!! with a good launch i have had clubsports 4-5 car lengths behind by 2nd gear, and its not like GTR's run out of top end as easily as some other popular turbo models. Now i know im probably gona have a few people jump down my throat with that comment but i am just saying from experience.... im not saying im a great driver or that the other drivers were any good but so far no V8 road car has got me!! Thanks again all
  9. Hey All, I have been having the dilemma recently that seems to plague alot of skyline owners/modifiers. -7's, 9's or 5's??? I have read PAGES and PAGES of SAU threads and many PM's between myself and members in the know in regard to the differences, benefits, negatives, supporting mods etc of the GT2860R-7, -9, -5 & -1's, and although there is alot of good information there, there also seems to be alot of lets just say... bullshit!! lol ;o) I started out not knowing too much in terms of types of turbo's and just wanting N1's (like alot of people I'm guessing) but once i started reading it became immediately obvious it wasn't so straight forward. I am looking at a really nice, pretty quick drivable street car capable of putting on show some of the big money car (which even in stock form seems to do quite well), so something quick spooling with a bit more capability like the -7's sounded good. At the same time an argument to look at -5's came into it. For the same amount i could get more power, which sounded even better. I then started reading about the little bit of lag, and not being able to use them to there full potential without block upgrades and so on, so after alot more thought and hours of reading i starting, a little bit hesitantly, swinging back to the -7's. Again i read more pages and more links and came across some good info on -9's which weren't really discussed in too much details earlier. Supposedly pretty much as quick spool as 7's with more head room (see forum talk... arrgggh lol) and of course more expensive pushing my budget a bit more. Now i am all confused again (plus i seen that Andrew from Kudos has got some). Andrew from Kudos has been awesome and has supplied me with heaps of information on the topic but if its not too much of a hassle could i please ask everyone's opinion of this?? I currently have a fairly stock (from what im aware) 1990 R32 GTR import. It's in the shop after almost 2 years off the road due to minor pulley bearing issue which i unfortunately didn't have the time or money to fix straight away.... anyways i am now looking at getting it back on the road but doing a few things now i have some funds. I currently already have things like K&N panel filter, bosch 040/044?? in tank pump, nismo adj fuel press reg., Carbon twin plate clutch, R33 box, Tien sus etc. and we was currently looking at adding something like as follows:- - GT2860r somethings??????? probably -9's - Power FC w/ Controller - Boost controller - Z32 AFM's - Head Gasket ??? not sure exact specs i would need depending on turbos??? - Pulley Kit ( for original problem) - All other hoses, seal etc to refresh I am also considering these but not sure what would be required for -7's or -9's and what would really be a waste of money and time (budget 7-8k total... low i know but there's a few other commitment in life at this point and if i don't do the car now I'm scared it would never happen) - Coil Packs - Spitfire - Adj Cam gears - Camshafts?? - Injectors (what size is needed for -9's) - Fuel Rail - FMIC - Water & Oil pumps - Radiator - Oil Baffles?? What do you guys think???? is there anything else you can think of??? i know its alot of info and apologise for the long message but I would love any feedback you can give and would greatly appreciate it. Cheers, Kristian

  12. hey guys, Ive tried looking mine up and it keeps saying its invalid.... i hope that doesn't mean there is something wrong.. VIN:- 6U9000 BNR32010583 Engine:- RB26012735A I also thought the car was a full import due to japenese labels and fuse box and such plus i found yen and car action papers from japan under the seat. but reading the top post the begining of my VIN is aus??? hope you can give me some good news. 13. Does anyone know if its possible to swap the bell housing from a R33 GTR box with a 90' 32 GTR housing?! I have a hyper twin carbon exedy clutch pull type but my 32 is push type. My options are either a bell housing swap or a straight gearbox swap. Any ideas?! Cheers
  14. What fuse on the GTR R32's?! I would love to be able to put it into full RWD for a bit... just to see how it handles... <_<
