thanks for the reply qikr33, wat do u exactly mean by checking the actuater if it is closed? From what I have seen, wen the car is boosting, the wastegate rod moves left to right, like a shudder. Is that what you mean? Cheers

If the turbo is not boosting till like 4500revs and not hitting max boost till like 5000revs and theres a wheezing sound coming through the air filter, would this be something wrong with the wastegate? If so will a external wastegate fix this problem? any help appreciated Cheers

Thanks for all the replys. BHdave - Yea the turbo was bought privately and with no formal warranty. I just taken the car to the mechanics where they found that it is the turbo and something to do with the wastegate being closed. I will try to get my money back fromt he guy i bought the turbo off. If not maybe hi-flo the turbo. sinisteR32 - yea, definately will check if anything is in the exhaust once i get back to the mechanic i ll keep you updated Cheers

Hi all there is something wrong with the r33. Firstly after putting in a 2nd hand replacement turbo, i decided to take the car for a spin ... soon afterwards there was this weird sound, and there after accerlatation was poor and there was absolutely no boost. The replacement turbo had done around 58000 kms. There's this sound from the air filter,which may be coming from the turbo, it sounds like a pinging sound, or maybe the blade is hitting the wheel of the turbo. Can u guys give me some suggestions to why im having no boost at all? I checked the intercooler pipes to see if anything is loose, all seems fine. PLEASE help, want to get back on the road... cheers
