  1. Hello! Apologies for the lengthy post. It’s been a long time since posting (or reading) the forums. Good to see the track days are alive and healthy. It looks like everyone is having a great time and benefiting from the opportunity to give these high-performance machines their head in the relative safety of a controlled environment. The Riverina Motor Complex is a proposed driver training and motorsports competition venue for Wagga Wagga in NSW. The aim of the project is to provide a boost to the local economy and to give the region's clubs a track day option that lies halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. The project is coming up against some local resistance and a petition has been circulated to generate support for the project (see the end of this post for the link to the petition). http://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/news/ ... 01251.aspx http://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/news/ ... 02563.aspx http://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/news/ ... 28254.aspx My view, after 6 seasons of inter-club motorsports competition (and at least 1 club record along the way) is, that the opportunity to channel my driving "enthusiasm" (aggression?) through healthy competition (thanks Budge, Adam, Ray, Scott and Chris for some memorable “non racing”!) in a safe, well structured environment, meant that I didn't feel the need to express that same spirit on our public roads. It also meant that I was far more familiar with my own car’s performance envelope, so that in the event of a "situation" I was better equipped to make the right decisions –more quickly. I fail to see how the opportunity to “test and learn” on a track or skidpan could be a bad thing given the rate of road fatalities -particularly amongst young males. When we consider the lack of entertainment options that regional centres often struggle with when mixed with the attendant boredom that results and we add the appeal of an open country road and high speed (not to mention a splash of alcohol) it’s not surprising. I am signing the petition (despite the fact that I may never use the facility) because I have experience of having to regain control of my own car and 2 sons that will eventually become drivers. I hope that this facility is successful and it results in prosperity, enjoyment, improved skills, safer drivers and it saves some lives along the way. Please consider adding your name to the petition. http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/da1 ... entre.html Thank you Tedshred (Roy Cushan)
  2. Not November? What is the date?
  3. Righteo bro' I forgot/didn't realise/didn't know about the decision until just a couple of hours ago when I first looked at the (yet to be updated) results spreadsheet and the mental "no points for Calder" WRX outcome was brought to mind. Now I can go ahead and do the calcs!
  4. When was it decided to count points for round 1 (rainy day at Calder)? I didn't think that was a "points" round due to the events on the day.
  5. I'm interested...again....
  6. I have a Mychron light TG laptimer and wanted to download the stored times, so I purchased -from E-Bay- one AIM (the Mychronlight TG manufacturer) USB downloader module. Once it arrived, I followed the install directions closely (a number of times) and to my disappointment I could not get it to work. Before I go through the whole return rigmaraole, is there anyone who has a working download module in Melbourne, that could be used to test the operation of this one against?
  7. So too, shall I !!!!!! (PM me and I will surely prove my dedication to this worthy cause!)
  8. Thanks Matt. Actually it was a 1:52.8130 in practice. Overall I think it was 3rd fastest for the day. Once the sun came out, my rooted rear tyres couldn't handle the heat and I could only ever get within a few tenths.
  9. Wrong. There were 2 of us. .....but only one skyline....
  10. Cool. Thanks.
  11. Bec, You have only included 7 rounds on the spreadsheet with round 7 being the last round (round 8) of the WRX at Calder in October and missing the Sandown round in August. Is this a typo or is that how the SAU c /ships are to be run?
  12. bump. And I have a link that may work to see the rubber on offer: http://hometime.bounceme.net:8000/pics/
  13. 4 x RE 55 SR 235/45/17 Bridgestone %50 tread $750 PM or call 0425753528
  14. Well, The EVO seemed to hold up OK........again.
