  1. Hello all, my (newish <6 months) battery seems to be flat after just a week of non driving. Any common culprits for battery drainage where I might start my enquiries?? Cheers The flat Baron
  2. Just my 2c on the subject....... a long forgotten and now extremely rare human commodity is the idea of 'honour'. It features very large in History and is particularly revered in Japan. Putting a GTR badge on your non-GTR is all manner of things.....it is your right......it may be funny.......it may upset people.....it may be an attempt to disguise the reality of your situation ..... or it may be accidental. One thing remains though - it is dishonourable. It is your choice whether that matters to you. I know it would matter to me... Cheers The Baron
  3. Peer pressure should never be a reason to do something - just sayin...... Cheers The Baron

  18. If you can find a second hand compressor - I'd be grateful. so far my search has proven fruitless - hence the cost of a rewind.... (pm me ;-) Cheers The Baron
  19. I guess I should qualify - I allow $150 /month for servicing costs over the year to cover all the things that might crop up. This includes the regular oils and fluids but also an allowance for all the stuff that a 15-20 year old car accumulates.....and which frankly I am not skilled enough to fix myself. For example the clutch coil on my a/c compressor is on the way out (a common problem in an R32) - thats a $400 job the get done this year requiring an auto electrician. I'd rather be conservative and realistic then to say "oh its only an oil and grease change every 6 months". just my 2 c ;-) Cheers The Baron
  20. You get what you pay for....... Personally if you are preparing to spend less then $20K on an R33 GTR, I think you will struggle. Realistically, for something that won't give you ongoing trouble, $30K is the minimum you should budget. If you spend less on purchase, you will just spend it a bit later on repairs and maintenance.... If you can't afford that as a minimum (and remember to budget for ongoing costs like insurance ($1000+ p.a.), 98RON+ petrol ($100+ per fill), regular service and fluids ($300-400/qtr), rego etc....) then stay away - you'll just be dissappointed...... If you can afford it - its the best car owning experience there is..... to buy a car - I'd recommend importing from a reputable importer (see separate thread) - it's your best chance to find something meeting your taste, budget and requirement. Good Luck Cheers The Baron
  21. I got mine from here: http://www.tunersgroup.com/ There are different bosses for different cars (depending on HICAS/super HICAS etc.) so difficult to give a price for your situation. I matched mine to a Momo steering wheel as well - all up was about $ 600. It should be noted that 'strictly speaking' the modification of the steering column in Victoria and replacement with a 'non padded' steering wheel is not legal - but frankly I dont care ;-) Cheers The Baron
  22. I fitted a Worksbell Quick Release Steering wheel and locking mechanism (in addition to standard alarm etc) When parked - the wheel is turned to full lock and I take the Steering Wheel off (and with me if required) - then fit the locking hub over the boss. Should at least discourage the 'joyriders'........ Cheers The Baron
