Mr. Keets replied to Mr. Keets's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I don't know that I'll go that far, is there any usage patterns that point to that option i.e. the drags...BTW the 5 speed kit has gone up $200.00 since I bought mine. yesssssss -

I'm more than happy to give SK's suspension GB the . The full kit is suitable for road and the occasional track day. Do it! -
Sorry guys I should have been more thorough in my explanation. The list comes from a full 5 speed gear set with input shaft from OS Giken. The box it is going into is an 89 GT-R. Depending on which year or evolution of the gearbox you use a different selection of Nissan parts to fill out the rebuild.

Damn linky thing fixed...I think

I've sent you the pdf via PM. Cheers

"my turbos were only hi flows.. not garrett 2860's of any kind." So why are you quoting the dyno numbers...Please read the original post " 2530's Vs Garrets, 320Kw and response" I answered the question. "...u can play with the delivery of the power with the gears but ur only gonna move the powerband up or down.. so if u fatten ur mid section, u lose top end. simple" Yes and your point is...no wait, I'm no longer interested in your point

Rebuilding 32r G'box With Osg 5 Speed Kit

I've posted the paperwork that came with the parts in the Japanese Sub Forum for a translation. -
I've recently received my OSG 5 Speed Kit and predictably the instructions are in Japanese. I would appreciated a translation from one of you gifted linguists. Link to PDF

Well arnt you great. BTW...320Kw @15psi. You don't need to run all the gear to make the numbers but it makes them easier at lower boost and the power comes on a bit earlier and is smoother in response. GTR-PWR asked for advice on "320Kw and responsive" and he got mine..your entitled to give yours.

Thanks and yes l am although better resposne would be nice...hence the stroker plan No haven't bothered...I will leave the HP alone until the stroker kit and then go D-Jetro You might but I doubt it...yes guaranteed to put a smile on your dial but like anything, you get used to it. Remember the more HP you have the more other parts will break or prematurely wear out. To further clarify, Garrett 2860-5 (catalogue name), Garrett 2560-5(stamped on turbo) and HKS2530...virtually identical turbo's and as R31Nismoid said -7 = GT-SS.
-
I'd have to disagree with you on a few points. Factory cam gears and factory exhaust...would have to go. You will need front pipes and dumps and cam gears on top of the exhaust you have You could go with the GT-SS's but your not leaving yourself much room for more power. 2860R-5 or what ever you want to call the Garrett 2530 is a good move for the power target beyond that. You will sacrifice some response. This is what I did PFC EBC New fuel pump Front pipes, dumps, exhaust Apexi pods Cam gears 680cc injectors FPR 2860R-5 turbos New coils Oil cooler HKS Twin Plate 320 RWKW oh and the original question...both turbos are virtually the same so i'd go the new ones

I don't suppose there's a step 2 option on this GB is there Paul??? You could send me broke

Hey Josh... Before you start spending AU$30+ on a crate engine you might want to look at a couple of things. 1. Do you really want a GT-R...these things need care and attention to keep them running ion top shape. You either have to be handy with the tools or have a few bucks tucked away that you can blow 2. What do you intend to do with your car. Its all well and good popping the hood to show your mates the blue cam cover and the Tomei badge but you will get more bang for your buck having the engine built locally. When you start looking at 2.8 kits or full counter 2.6 things start getting expensive. You will need all the right hardware to go with it....turbo(s), cams, springs, pumps etc then you have to start worrying about the g'box. Of course you need to stop and go around corners, cheap by comparison to the Tomei engine...In short going down that road is very expensive. Why not look at a 2.6 R33 crank in a standard block, some decent pistons, rods and oil pump, some poncams with some 2530''s. A solid reasonably priced combo that will be streetable and will deliver 350(ish)AWKW. You've mentioned a Nissan crate engine...yes you can by an N1 crate engine. But they aren't really that special...except for the 24U block Not trying to scare you here but you need to spend a lot of time reading the threads and amassing info before you start spending. Or you might be a guy who has a shed load of cash to blow and in that case...go for the 2.8
