You Know You Drive A Skyline When .. ... .
Mr. Keets replied to SAGTS-4's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
...when you are given the most busted arse ute on site because they think your a hoon, then when it breaks after being abused by every other SOB and you get the blame. ...when you practice your apex's and lines around site in the busted arse ute. ...When you think flying to Japan for a car show is a logical way to spend money. ...When the driver of the 355 Ferrari you just beat refuses to make eye contact...roflmao ...When the scooby driver arrives at the freeway off ramp lights 15 seconds later and politely ask's how much HP the R makes and can his wrx do that...lol -

Rebuilding 32r G'box With Osg 5 Speed Kit
Mr. Keets replied to Mr. Keets's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hahaha not guilty. Thanks Paul ...OEM fifth cog sounds like a plan. Anyone know if I can use an OSG 5th cog on a 1989 HKS flag pole or do I need more parts??? No..No, I don't think I'll be doing that; but thanks for that disturbing yet inventive suggestion -
P - Plate Drivers' Night Ban To Curb Toll
Mr. Keets replied to Lucy in the Sky's topic in WA Wasteland
Usually I'm all over this "nannying" the government do but on this occasion I'm siding with the establishment. Good...a couple of drinks, overloaded car, speed, youth and inexperience do not make a good recipe. Although late night pizza might be a little more difficult to come by how does that work? -
Great news congrats. Kudos to the reasonable cop

I had a second look and I still think if you got pulled by the "Man" there would be unhappiness. Plus you'd need some negative camber, guard rolling and or some high spring rate springs to stop them rubbing. This is of course if you want to make the car go around corners. But they still look tuff, with that offset I'd be going tens.

Nissan...or try Slidewize -
Eric Medlen last year and now Scott Kalitta. After the death of Medlan I remember John Force withdrawing his car until he could make it safer against slapping the wall, but there are no mods to make a Funny Car safe from the impact that Scotty took. Longer run off is the key. It looked like a good pass too...RIP Scott

Yes but Justins' car is set up for the track..I doubt he'd be very popular with the police. Looks hard-corey though

Rebuilding 32r G'box With Osg 5 Speed Kit
Mr. Keets replied to Mr. Keets's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I looked at that option but the number of posts referring to rebuilds scared me off. I'm planning on a 2.8 stroker next year so I thought i'd pass on it Paul, With the sort of work your R does I'd be looking at the dogbox too...9 sec pass, nice one . My R will still see the street more than the track for now but it will eventually become more track than street. Do you think it's possible to use the standard 5th gear with the OSG kit? -

From memory it was a 45....bugger I need to do the calcs again lol Fair enough. Hopefully someone might have the answer to the 5th gear question -

Mr. Keets replied to Mr. Keets's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Not sure about replacing the the 5th gear with an OEM, but I don't why you would unless your heading for a land speed record. Looking at the ratios I would expect the OSG kit would be pretty handy for the drags. Sorry I did the calcs in miles. Still in the drag racing mind set I guess OEM gears with 17inch tyres. 8000rpm 1st - 47 2nd- 78 3rd - 116 4th - 151 5th - 201mph OSG gears with 17inch wheels. 8000rpm 1st - 56 2nd- 89 3rd - 122 4th - 151 5th - 182mph -

My syncros are going so I ordered the 5 speed kit from greenline...now the CF shaft, then more clutches for the transfer case, then shim the diff. I'm doing the lot at once....Maybe I should just wait and buy an R35 lol -
Rebuilding 32r G'box With Osg 5 Speed Kit
Mr. Keets replied to Mr. Keets's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
From memory it was $700...but don't quote me. Plus I want to put more clutches and floaters on the transfer case and do the rear diff -
Man that's some bad luck/targeting. "We're not happy with the inspection" Have you annoyed some one??? Yes driving without a gear knob is dangerous...then again it depends on what is dangerous. You can be yellowed for just about anything...unable to read the shift pattern on your gear knob- Lets say a cop, other emergency service personnel or even a mechanic or dare I say ...valet has to move your car an emergency or whatever he may select the wrong gear (reverse) and launch your car into bystanders. That's why gear knobs that aren't embossed often come with a stick on plate for the console.

R32 Gtr Brake Upgrade Advice
Mr. Keets replied to LotusGTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Nick, I've been in the same boat and while I save for some bigger brakes I've made the following changes which really help last time out at AHG. Master cylinder stopper-I bought a Nismo brace with one integrated but you can fashion your own or Cusco make a bolt on one. Stops firewall flex Braided lines-GB deal worked out really well at a good price Pads- I tried some Hawk HP+...More rotor wear and noise but the R stopped really well. Probably too aggressive for the street. Fresh brake fluid -

Anyone Wanna Lend Me Some Money?
Mr. Keets replied to NoFX_Hardcore's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I dig the airbox...looks like something by Top Secret; bit over board with the RRR block though -
I haven't heard of such a collaboration but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It looks like someone has just spec'd Tomei parts to fill out the OSG kit....it will be wayyyyyy expensive in comparison to an Aussie built 3L and even a R.I.P.S RB30 from NZ

Thanks Paul and Richard. The prices...mmm $1300. I'll have to see a mate and get it trade. I'll scan a copy for you and the list will go in the Parts thread. I fear for what it would be "over the counter".
