  1. Sounds good, dont know we'd have much to argue about though Damn right! The DD "shootout" mode seems half way between a marketing plan and a real attempt at creating a universal basis for comparison...beta was a better tape format than VHS, but VHS was marketed better, and we all saw where that ended up.
  2. Hello from Perth...can you here me???p0rn recieved. Over! Thanks for organising the GB Shan
  3. safe hp package=safe handgun. It all depends on how its handled
  4. So the Skyline exodus begins...looks like we're only a month behind the East Coast
  5. If you, and i mean anyone, was to speak to one of the established tuners they would find that there is..its just not codified on a sign in front of their shops...they know what it is and they size you up ...what does he really want or is that need, does he really have that kinda coin, is he an idiot!. Dont know about RB25s but for the RB26 there is enough conventional wisdom to say that for reliability, over x hp you want this block and this oil pump or to run xRPM you want this particular spec of crank and rods. You see variations on the theme throught the 400rwKw combos I see posted on SAU. I agree that if tuners were to offer "buffet" selections there would be greater reliability and this would create confidence in the resale market. But unfortunately, people like to fiddle with tune ups (boost, AFR etc) and then things get unreliable. I know one tuner talks people out of permanently hooking up their PFC commander to avoid this issue. Perhaps that is why some tuners of Motec dont like to give out the code...or is that to ensure return business? Another factor against this is the price. I think posting a sign that say "all the fruit-daily driver! 400Kw at the wheels-$25K" would scare people way from the shops. Hell when I first got my R it went in for and oil change and came out with a PFC and 3 inch exhaust you've got to strip people of their money slowly...its a buy on emotion-rationalise later deal. In the end people have the right and the mechanism to fiddle with their cars...thats how we end up making discoveries. Frank Zappa said it best..."without deviation progress is not possible"...but there is always a price to pay
  6. Permits...like "i've got a carbon hood" kinda permit? You dont need to have it road registed. No issues if it is roadworthy by ANDRA scrutineering standards. It does'nt have to meed ADR's ie eye level brake light not required, horn doesnt need to work etc. However, the vehicle must be safe, i.e. no leaks good brake pedal, seatbelts in good order etc.
  7. I donated to a single handed circum navigation of the globe in a submarine...I wonder if its the same guy? Yes I know it sounded dodgey but the stubbie holder made me laugh
  8. ..and the humour never ends. Seriously I feel sorry for the guy, but....I mocked him 'till my throat was sore and the fire'ys used foam and he was mocked by the drunken knuckleheads Mockery all round...and it still made 12 bizllion HP...ha ha ha dyno queen
  9. care to repeat that Ant
  10. I've got a 32R with Apexi pods. Got something that fits, i.e. can I bolt the filter "though" the panel to the filter extension that connect to the AFM.
  11. ..and probably best to not tell them about your adventure..unless you've reported it to the plods
  12. Me too, but we all know people who have crashed cars into curbs...roundabouts, traffic signs etc. Some are more public than others Hell I've done it too...I'm sure you know someone Chad. Yes Yes, or try W.A. Suspensions, not a forum sponsor but they do excellent work...and own at least one Skyline Yes, Make your mistakes there...infront of a dozen members...just like I did Dont get ahead of yourself regarding the outcomes of an inspection, take your time to consider your options, this may be the time to go for some lower spring etc while the suspension work, if it needs any, gets done, take your time. One final thing and I know I will recieve some flame for it. Unless there is a mechanical imperative forget the multiple boost settings, just leave it on high and modulate boost with your right foot. the best thing is your not hurt. Good luck
  13. Saab was an auto I suppose, too much lubricity and burned out the clutch packs.
  14. This is a little back ground on additives, I dont claim that Roil Gold is the of this type additive but here we go. Alot of oil additives contain chlorinated hydrocarbons which are very slippery, which is good. However, when you put these types of additives through a number of heat cycles the chlorine molecule can break off and become attached to water molecules and you've got hydrochloric acid...which is bad. If you look around the interweb you will find a "company" called Neways, these guys sell cosmetics...and distrubute Roil Gold. Check out their offer of a ""business opportunity" In the end if you need an additive in your oil maybe you need to buy better oil.
  15. MB Quartz Focal
  16. As these 32's get older I can see more and more of these threads comming up. There is another one in the general maintanence thread...i think. Me, I'm waiting till the 2.8 kit when its out i'll do the paint...more trips to Africa on the way. Looks like a great job Komannder
  17. Limiter launch time for me...if I have the stones for it on the night. I need to get some Federals to fill in before I order the 17's. Seen a fuel car do it. ANDRA mandate the last movement to the line must be forward. He gave it a quick blurt and scared the crap out of a dozen people. Seen a Alcohol dragster come of the stands in the pits back in the day and mangle an L34 torana...but thats another story Excellent, with any luck they wont let be run again , but i'll be happy with a low 11
  18. Dont know anything about that product but personally I use Redline, used in everything from street cars to top fuelers...ask Jim Read, dont believe what the decals on his car say
  19. No seriously i dont think you are. If you are hitting a limiter say 1st to 2nd in a drag race, provided you've got traction, you must be losing momentum, so from that aspect its counter productive. Unless your Roy and your doing some MC work:laugh:
  20. come on low 11...dady spent some coin on ya, ya evil bastard
  21. I've dragged some of this up from the last time we went. Scruitineering will be looking for all the usual stuff...Battery secured, seatbelts in good nick, no leaks, windows not cracked, no religious figureens on the dash or hangin from the mirror...its a secular sport you know! What you need: $, Half a tank of gas, no extra weight, no loose objects, brakes in good nick, a tyre pressure guage if your going to fiddle with your pressures, long sleeved shirt or jacket, no shorts, enclosed shoes. A rag to wipe of the shoe polish from the window and a will to have fun Welcome to another night of enjoying your car responsibly and picking up after yourself ...and bring a drivers license
  22. There was some grumpiness articulated indeginous elders a few weeks ago in the West re: appropriation of sacred images. Despite the scared meaning to the images owner(s), it was painted by "unauthorised" person(s) it has no significance and is therefore just more visual pollution.
  23. ...this is Stefan....his name is Stefan, harden the fu(k up Stefan!
  24. Dont know if I want o help after getting the myspace finger LOL Get some I.D together and your rego and head down to a nissan dealer and tell them the story...theres another thread form like...2 weeks ago in the WA section, someones bro works at one and could help you out. As for the alarm, when you got the car you should have got some paper work to let you know what alarm it was. If your in the RAC call them, if bnot join and away you go. Then spend some coin on a better alarm with a good install.
