Cons: 25 kilos of unwanted crap in my car Pros: Good start to shedding some weight on the 32GT-R. Really. It kinda freaks me out a little...unpredictable.

Thinking Of Buying A Porsche Boxster
Mr. Keets replied to Smurf's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Outed on the boards....mmmm *puts hairdrier down and picks up ratchet to look more butch* I love the look of the older pooches but I already have one wallet destroyer. Plus I see alot of these 80s models with the "update" title in the sales blather...Looks like a panel beater found a couple of bent ones, ripped the panels off them and hey presto! a pile of crap no one trusts. If its an old porsche then i'd go a clean low(ish) ks 930, at least you will have some cred, a quick ride and a decent resale. -
I sense a man with a plan

*starts making calls* mmmm I was wondering why that comode was trying to stage with the back wheels If this is the right car it is the replacement for Tango-1. A gift from GMHolden to the W.A. Police for use in road safety. The new car is now operated by a charity called Beat The Heat, modeled on a yanky deal and run by officers with the support of the Police, GM and local tuners who wrench the car. In all seriousness the W.A Police force have always owned "undercover" highway cars, in particular non standard issue brands and models. If you ask the right old timers they will tell the tale of the Falcon XWGT that was the scourge of the south west back in the day, right up through the first incarnation of the W.A highway patrol in the late 70's (the RTA) with their hot falcons..with RTA plates LOL. This practice has gone in and out of vogue with the Force over the years but it seems like its coming back once again. So, the idea of the W.A. plods using a WRX is not that original as they were tested and adopted over east a few years ago. Dont know about breaking off a chase at a particular speed but these days the descision can be over ruled by a disconnected voice in East Perth to ensure the adrenaline doesnt kick in too hard and the whole show ends in tears. In the end you cant out run these new helicopters anyway so why try!

Exactly The sort of behaviour that these knukleheads exhibit make it that much harder for the responsible import owners. Media reports blow it out of proportion, the politicians adopt it to scare old folks.."vote for me and i'll punish the evil doers" and then we end up with the anti hoon laws. Watch this space people and imagine how much faster this crap will happen when someone gets killed. The entry level 48hr confiscation will go out to 30 days and the fines will go up to match. Youll loose you car for a month for excessive noise or turning the tyres. Someone with too much money will eventually get booked and test this law for but for the rest of us it doesnt look good. Next is this stupid stupid "Dob in a Hoon" legislation which will come into effect in next year. The grumpy and stupid will be out there with their video cameras trying to get tape of "hoons" screwing around. I has always been said of W.A that we are behind the east Coasters, well if you want to see the future check out the stories of EPA fines, defects, and "allowable" modification on the other "State" boards. I think I might trade my R for a hotrod...just joking Orange But I guess its not blue.

Short Shifters (need An Answer Quickly)
Mr. Keets replied to gargantua's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
probably not...you get what you pay for, have a look at nengun, greenline etc for a C's -
Strategy wise...I like your idea, big arse turboed RB in an S13, but tactically... I think your heading down a path of pain. That sort of turbo with that sort of potential going on stock combo reving to 9K doesnt sound good. To make it worth while I would have thought collecting the parts...N1 block, stroker kit (or not) or suitable crank, quality pumps etc would be the way to go, when thats done build it along with the g'box your going to need and then sell the still intact RB26. Buy some 2860r Garretts and sell them at a respectable loss when the time comes. Good luck rb26s13

Is It Possible To Disable A Turbo?
Mr. Keets replied to supraaah's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Suitable response....Dude! stick it on a train -
I've got um and they are great, dont have the HKS name and there is some question as to their responsiveness (is that a word?)and the same top end potential as the HKS 2530s but hey, they get the job done and are a bit cheaper...check out the RB26 turbo upgrade and in partricular PNBlights experience with them. Good one Richard, it never made sense to me that HKS woul drop a product that does so well only to leave a hole in the range. Man thats cheap for bananas, in Perth we get ripped off wholsale....damn percieved lack of availability due to previous random destruction wind dealy

Really who cares...Apart from the academics and bench racing aspects. Tuners use the 300kmh deal as a selling point or as "proof" of the potency of their tunes/part/philosophy/t-shirt - Top Secret, Mines. Same for vehicle manufacturers...Mclaren, Ferrari, RUF "its a supercar" Meh. It makes great youtube etc but its serious sh1t and these guys put big bucks into their experiments before trying the 300 "barrier" My concern would be the effects of a component failure at 180mph+ it all happens pretty quick and you wouldnt have enough time to react..unless your a pro. I've driven some fast and quick cars and I dont see the attraction of high speeds in an uncontrolled, non competitive environment, I guess i dont get it

got the apexi pods on my 32R...sound great, not sure how much if any HP i picked up
-
Oil temp guage will be a souvenir from TAC Stock guages on a car that is street driven far from equipment limits are fine but...see below absolutely, a well know Perth tuner reminded me a while a go that the stock guages on my 32R were "slow to react" and as i've got a few bucks sunk into my car I thought it would be wise to get an appropriate level of monitoring on board...rice-o-meter LOL

, Samuel L Jackson style?. Beat down or reality check..its all in the language. Its pretty simple, lock bar or no lock bar, hicas light or no light, slighly odd turn in to low-mid speed corners or not.
