  2. Last sunday I was talking my 78 yr old Dad to see some friends and we pulled up next to an SS ute. My 3inch exhaust must have triggered some kind of penis envy so he gave it a rev to 3 or 4K. So my Dad looks around at him then at me so i give 6K sustained rev for 4 or 5 seconds and me and my Dad had a good laugh as the SS dude limped away owned.....ahhh another father son bonding moment at the expesne of a plonker

  5. I've been working in the metro area for the last couple of months and i've noticed that commodore drivers while tailgating me and baiting me as usual are'nt as numerous as they once were. The main offenders now seems to be tossers in XR6 Turbos, utes and 4 doors...am I alone here or are you guys and gals getting the same grief?

  10. Sure he can he's a cop. dont know about where you guys are but in WA you can be defected for a dirty windscreen. I got pulled over by one a couple of weeks ago and the first thing out of his head was "I'm gunna defect you and do you for exessive noise"...but he didnt.   11. Technical masterpiece...Damn right! Lemons...No, that infers a higher than average proportion of vehicle are inherrently faulty. However, there are a number of rough high milage imports about and they should be avoided at all cost. Bang for your buck they are'nt that expensive. If you wanted the 0-60 time and E.T.'s that these cars generate you would be looking at some expensive wheels. Remember, when R32 GTR's were sold here they were around $80K when a 13b turbo rx-7 was half that (correct me if my memory is failng) but the service costs are the same if not higher if you are modding your R. Maintaining a 15yr old car in top condition is a commitment. I was looking at another car a little while ago, something late model and i couldnt identify a ride that gave me the handling, power, reliability, and presence that my GMG GTR does for anywhere near the price. As a daily driver...no i just dont want to expose my R to the sub humans in peak hour traffic, but i could cause its still a Nissan afterall.

  17. I'm sure i saw a "top gear" episode where Clarkson tests a BMW 5 series diesel that uses a two different size turbos. For a diesel it was pretty fast...of course it sounded like crap

  19. tazsgtr I had the -5s installed on my 89 GTR late last year and i'm very happy. but Mounting them. These turbos are advertised as a direct replacement for the standard item. I didnt do the work but i believe they are a "straight forward" fitment Change injectors? I didnt originally but it did make it a bit more difficult for my tuner. My R was tuned to 410 rwhp with the original fuel system , then virtually the same figures (412) with the new fuel system (injectors, pump) however, power feels more linear with the new fuel system. The 89 pumps are getting old now and i was running the injectors at a high duty so if i was to go down the same path again I would go for some larger injectors and a pump at the same time as the turbos. Cams? I run some adjustable cam gears on original cams. If i was going that way i would probably go for some Tomei Poncams...but others here may say otherwise. New cams...nice to have i suppose, but i wouldnt consider them in the same light as injetcors and a pump. Infact depending how you go with cam seletcion, expectations and power levels you might be shortening the life span of your combo by using bigger cams ECU and Exhaust I would be going for a tuneable ECU and the rest of the exhaust before i spent the bucks on new turbos...Unless you blew one or both up I will only tell you what i did and what worked for me...Power FC, adjustable cam gears and full exhaust including dumps. Then the bug bit so i went with the turbos and fuel system. Dont forget your clutch. Hopefully some of the gurus will help you out a bit more technically...good luck with the R
  20. 3li3 32 I'm guessing these -5s are on RB26, 700 @ all 4 WOW; what are the specs??? I thought somewhere around the mid to low 500s at the wheels was about it. DVSGOD I have -5s on my 89 R and they are great, they really start pulling hard at around 4K. I'm making 412rwhp on an internally standard combo...an excellent purchase
