  1. Thanks for pointing that out. I think I may have made a mistake in my enquiry. The car we are interested in is called a Skyline in Japan. Maybe it is G35? The shape of the car is very similar to a 350z. It has a 3.5L V6 NA engine I think. They were manufactured and sold after the R34 sized production. Jon
  2. Hi, I am quite interested in the new NA Skylines. I have seen them for sale on Prestige and Jspec Imports and I reckon they look good. Are there any post 2002 Skyline owners here on this forum, and what are your impressions of the car. How does the car feel on the road? Interested to know its performance as well, in terms of acceleration and handling. Does the car feel front heavy? etc. I would assume it is very similar to the 350z we have here in Australia. I have not seen any on the road yet. I think they are fairly new on the list of cars that can be imported. Are there and compliance workshops in Victoria and how much will the compliancing cost? Thanks, Jon
  3. I find the integra runs well on the twisties. Not a drag car. Jon

  12. Hi, I need help with 2 questions. Hope someone/some people can help me out. 1) Dimensions of the R32 gtst rotars 2) Rims offset to clear the R32 gtst calipers. I need to find out soon because I am thinking of getting a pair of R32 gtst calipers and there so happens to be one on sale. It will be a significant improvement to the current 180sx calipers. Thanks, Jon
  13. Well, we are not keen to spend thopusands of dollars on a 180sx. If it was a late model skyline, that would be different. R34.........drooooool Jon
  14. Burwood is near where I live, might give drive over to have a look at some of their work. Thanks mate. khunjeng, $1,500 for the work done is cheap, definately worth investigating. Thanks. Jon
  15. Thanks for the link. I have heard good things about them and yah, the work they do is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Jon
  16. I have got S15 seats in a 180sx. They are a good improvement to the stock ones with alot more back support and look much better for a retrim.
  17. Hi ant, how much did it cost you all up for the retrim? Jon
  18. hmmmm, thank you for all your responses. I am located in Box Hill South. I will have to travel quite a bit to get to those places. I think I have heard of Blackmans. They do the leather re-trims for Mazda at Moorabin. The sales people at Mazda said that they were quite good and it cost $2,500 to re-trim all the seats in leather. Coupe-This, thank you for the advice. I think I will have to increase the budget........ Will $5,000 get me a middle range quality job for the re-trimming the entire interior? I better talk this over with him. We did not think it would cost that much. Mie
  19. Thanks for that cefiro. How much did the GTR conversion cost you? Jon
  20. Hi, This is my first post on this forum. My other half spends his time on Nissansilvia forums. Perhaps I should start my own username...... We had previously done a little research on where we should get our car re-trimmed. We have just finished improving most of the exterior of the car and are just waiting for the rims to arrive. Its been 10 weeks now but it should be getting here anytime soon. According to my worse half, Charles from JDM is reliable and honest. Anyway, the parts we were looking to re-trim are front and rear seats, the dash, the pillars and the roof, the centre console. Might do the carpets as well. Can someone please offer recomendations as to where a good, reliable and not over priced place to get this done. The budget we have is set to a upper limit of $5,000. Only the seats are to be re-trimmed in leather, but everything else is vinyl. The colour I was a combination of red and black. red door trims, glove box, gear boot and brake cover. The seats will be red in the centre and black on the outside of the seats. Oh, by the way, the car is a Nissan 180sx. What do you think of this combination? I will appreciate all constructive comments. Thanks, Mie
  21. Thanks for the update. Looks like I have few options as to what calipers I can upgrade to. I do not want to re-drill just becasue it is suppose to be illegal. The car is driven by my wife and myself as a fun car and we do not really want trouble with the police.... that would not be fun anymore. I may just stick with the current SR calipers for the time being. It looks small, and not very good, but $2,300 is probably too much to spend at the moment. Jon
  22. This is great. I have never been on a forum that gave out warnings such as these. Of course I believe only a hand full would actually take this warning seriously, but it is the thought of the more senior drivers looking out for the newer drivers. Good on ya Ash. Jon
  23. Hi all, I have decided it is time to sell my daily. It is a 2001 Subaru Hatchback RV. It was delivered to Australia on 10th November 2001. I have fulll service books and just finished a $1,200 major service. Timing belt and water pump change, sprk plugs, oils coolants....etc. Details: Subaru Impreza Hatchback RV Reg: QVA 189 Colour: White Transmission: 5sp manual with dual range. Odometer: 95,xxxkms Price: $17,500 ono. Pictures can be arranged. Make and inspection and have a test drive. Contact: Jon 0412 005 791 or PM me. Description: Exterior condition is good. Interior conditon is excellent. Engine runs well and has a nice boxer note. Electronic brake force distribution (EBD), ABS, power windows, cruise control, standard cd player, power mirrors, new window wipers, new Handkook K104 tyres (about 2,000km), 16' factory alloys, comes with 2 keys, tow bar, height adjustable drivers seat. So this is the story. I was at the Mazda dealership yesterday and I wanted to test drive the new Mazda 6 becasue it had some improvements from the previos models. So I went for a drive, I tested a 5 speed automatic with sequential shift....... the Mrs liked the car........ her excuse was that we needed something bigger, more grunt with an automatic transsmission for driving interstate...... the dealer let us use one of the demos...... so we went for a drive around Melbourne...... went back to the dealer and somehow,we were discussing price....... spent the whole afternoon haggling about price and I was not really thinking seriously about buying the car....... the next thing I knew....... i gave them my credit car and they took a deposit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Anyway, we got $4,000 of rrp, which effectively means we do not pay for stamp duty, rego and all the other taxes. Bought another wagon, but a Mazda 6 classic wagon. managed to also get extended 1 year warranty. Woke up this morning in a daze thnking....... what have I done. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) The dealer is offering us $16,000 for the Impreza but gave us 3 weeks to find a private buyer. Car will be sold by 2nd April 2006. I would like $17,500 for the car and it is cheaper than any other Impreza you will find on the market with the same make and year. But basically, I would be happy with offers more than $16,000. (not like $10 or $100 more or something) Thanks for reading, Jon
  24. Hi, I have a 180sx with Mu Rotars and pads in 4 stud. The size of these rotars really limit the type of calipers I can use. The only calipers I found that would suit my rotars are from Endless and would set me back $2,300. I have also recieved alot of feedback from NS.com members that for street driving, the Endless brake kit would be an over kill. Someone suggested I try R32 GTS brakes since they are also in 4 stud and same PCB. I wanted to find out more about the R32 GTS brake set up because I heard that they are also in 4 stud. I am not really keen to do a 5 stud conversion becasue I got a set of 4 stud rims I really like. What I wanted to find out is: 1) Dimension of R32 GTS rotars? The current rotars I use are 280x22mm 2) Does the R32 GTS use 4 piston calipers? 3) About how much should I be paying for them? Thanks for any help you can give me. Cheers, Jon
  25. I think that is a good idea but I really doubt you will be able to secure any funding from Uni Melbourne. The Student Union budget is tight enough and I understand that there are some changes that would decrease the amount of money the Union has to play with. I don't really see many imports at Uni Melbourne, so it might be hard to get enough members in just Uni Melbourne to sustain the club. Just my opinion. Jon
