Hello All,
Currently having trouble with my r32 and the electrics in the damn thing. When its running its running fine however just a week ago i was driving along and the entire car cut out. taco said 0 and i was rolling. luckily enough about 5 seconds after it happened it was jumped back to life and i was on my merry way again. it did it to me twice more that day. both times again just a momentary 1-10 second lapse in power to my car.
got home and cleaned the bajesus out of the battery terminals and drove it all the next day without a problem but sure enough the next day it started again, killing the power while driving. pulled up and did some things for about an hour, jumped back into the car and nothing, i could hear the starter motor cranking but there was no life other than that in the car. got it towed home and sitting in the driveway after it had stopped moving, had the key on for the steering lock and what do u know all the lights came back on. keyed the car and away she went.
so from my observations so far i can tell you this.
normally you put your key to on, all your dash lights come up (hicas etc). when the power cuts i get no dash lights @ all. my indicators dont work however the hazards lights do. my stereo still works fine. i can key the car and all that happens is i hear the starter motor cranking hard.
i have an immobilizer in the car and i initially thought it could be that however i got the manual out and the LED seems to be doing what its supposed to do. also i tried using a blank key without the imobiliser key/stick/pill (whatever u wanna call it) and that doesnt even allow my starter motor to crank so im assuming it isnt the imobiliser however thats where i'll start tomorrow.
the worse thing now is, its in my garage and is starting every time again however i know once i start driving it'll do it again so its a bit of a biach....
if anyone has had a similar problem or the exact problem please let me know or if anyone can shed some light on the situation it would be greatly appreciated
cheers and thanks in advance,
Evan
