  1. If there is alot of oil then its possible its a turbo seal or a ring cause alot of blow by. Do a compression test on the donk if tha checks out then id look at getting your turbo rebuilt.
  2. You would be better putting this thread in Forced Induction Performance. Will get alot more attention that way. It does sounds like a sensor issue though if they are checking up ok the computer could possibly be the culprit. Let us know how you go.
  3. Time to look for a 25 box!
  4. Deffinately take the car else where mate. My guess is your tuner is unfamiliar with the powerfc and doesnt know how to tune it properly. With the knock levels you were experiences you could kill your engine pretty quickly.
  5. You will want to get it Retuned to suit your car matey. Get your car booked in with a tuner who is familiar with the Emanage.
  6. well done mate hope to see it continue to prove to be reliable.
  7. How can you make any boost at all if a pipe comes completely off?
  8. I presume your asking will the emanage be compatible with your car? answer is yes.. it will be compatible but will need to be spliced into your wiring as with any piggy back computer. That is unless you have plug and play harness and that would also be compatible.
  9. what piping kit have you got?
  10. As Uras said it wont require any ecu modifications. And since you are going to tune the car with a safc 2 it will be perfectly fine and will make full use of the extra boost through the rev range.
  11. Bypass the standard boost solinoid with the r32 actuator and it will just run 10psi.
  12. you do have a ceremic wheel.. Your compressor wheel is nylon. Exhaust is ceramic.
  13. ive seen that car in person... i cant say i liked it to much.
  14. Well i had a bit of a set back to this little project. My harmonic balancer died so the car has been off the road. I Towed the car to the mechanic and got it replaced today and Just to make sure everything was looking good before the car went on the dyno i got a comp test done aswell. Results were 170 across the board so all is well. I rang my tuner this evening and let him know the car is back on the road and with any luck it will be tuned as soon as possible. I will let you all know how it goes.
  15. bloody hell mate... its been said a 1000 times now. You want the best turbo matched to your desired power output. In this case the smallest of the 3 mentioned. You wont run 700hp on stock internals. You wont run 600hp on stock internals. And you wont run 500hp on the stock internals. And if you feel like proving as wrong get a 700 hp turbo get bigger injectors as your 555cc wont cut the mustard and crank that sucker up. Your engine will last 5 minutes IF it doesnt die while its on the dyno. And thats a big IF. And 700 hp on a 2.5l engine is a laggy pig. Your question has been answered there really isnt anything else to be added to this thread.
  16. its not the turbo thats going to limit your power mate. Its the stock bottom end your running you wont be making 500hp so out all those turbos if you feel the need to be using atleast one of them. Then common sence would say get the smallest of the three.
  17. Funny enough i dont mind the s14 34 :| its pretty fkn horn.
  18. Why would you want lag? Response is the key to a fast street car. Have you been in a car that has anything close to 250rwkw using a hiflow turbo with supporting modifications? Its an experience mate. And a much better one then a car making 250rwkw using a oversized turbo for the application.
  19. youve answerd your own question mate. You want the best street turbo and considering your running stock internals the gt30 is the best option out of those turbo's. You wont be running 700hp on a stock engine.
  20. Whether or not you doing it will help with the sale or not. But if you make it clear that in its current state all it needs is tuning and more boost and you will make around 250rwkw it might get a bit more interest. All the best mate
  21. Agreed it would be better if he could get those revs up to around 8000rpm he will make more use of the set up that way. Aslong as he takes your advice on the oil aswell he should be able to build a reliable engine up to making the most of his gear.
  22. It would be a good idea to get oversized pistons 20thou or whatever is recommended to you by your workshop. Have your block taken out to suit so its all nice and fresh. Rb26 rods will be fine for the 25 they are compatible.
  23. I dont disagree with you at all, though personally if i was going to really push my engine to 300+ id just want that extra confidence that forged internals would give. There is no dout that this car is going to have to rev to make power.
  24. A headgasket is good insurance on your bottom end. Will have a slight adverse affect on your response however. Id suggest spending the money to get rods and pistons. Its good insurance and you will feel alot better knowing that its done everytime you put your foot down.
