Hi all. Just recieved my 4 x RB30 blocks today. Is there any difference in the RB30 blocks? Aka. series 1 or series 2? Are all the RB30 blocks the same from the factory? How to tell a turbo block from a NA block? And yes, this time I have searched. hehe. Could be I'm stupid at searching.

Up/down Movement On Axle On Brand New Gt4094r
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Pheeww.. So its not bad at all. no I did not search, I just asked.. -
Hi. I desided on a GT4094R from garrett. I have just recieved it, and first thing I noticed when turning the wheel was that there was alot of up/down movement on the axle. When measuring it there is about 0.4mm up/down movement. Is this normal?? Seems to me that is alot? This is the bigget turbo I have had, so dont have expirence with a larger turbo. But on my other ball bearing turbos, also from garrett, there was not that much movement up/down. My last was a GT3076R, and it had basicly no movement up/down. I did not measure on the GT3076R exsactly how much so cant compare. Thank you.

I am tuning a NISTUNE board for a friend. Though its CA18DET engine.. It is really awsome, and to that price tag i has! Great! Only trouble is the feed from LM-1 acts up when logging in the software. Mark or Matt or whats his name, is working on a software update. But otherwise its really nice! And easy to mount. We changed injectors to some big 660CC, did some correction, and car startet up first time. Took 5 min to get the car to idle perfekt. If I had know about it when i had my CA18DET engine, i would have used it. But went on to Apexi FC with the RB25DET, and now moved on to a ViPEC

Help To Choose Turbo..
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi. Thanks for the replys. :-) I dont care if i need to be over, say 4500 rpms to get some action. Arrrg its tough to deside. The rule "get as small a turbo that will meet my demands" is in my mind.. And 800hk is the goal. So maybe I should just try out the GT4094R.. ? The maps for a GT4094R looks like they fit my goal. The car should be more track day oriented than drag oriented... But its all how you define each? Monday I will try and call the shop were i usually by my turbos, and have talk with them. Monday the turbo will be bought. The turbonetics GT-K series I have crossed out now. So the finalist are GT4094R, or the GT4294R. And if using the rule "get the smallest turbo that fit the goal" applies then it should be a GT4094R. What do you recon? -
Help To Choose Turbo..
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I am also leaning towards a GT4294R.. In one of the smaller trims. 1.01 is the one I'm looking the most at. In the supra forums I cant seem to find that much info on gt4294r.. its either gt4088r they talk about, or waaay bigger (GT45) than my goals. Or HKS. -
Help To Choose Turbo..
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hk is Hp.. Will use HP form now on. hehe. Have searched, but cant find conclusive info. Especially on the GT-K series. Im leaning towards the GT4294R, in a 1.01 trim.. How do you think that will boost on the 3 liter? I have seen the GT4294r compared to a HKS t51 kai unit? Is that correct? -
Help To Choose Turbo..

No one? Anyone with experience with the GTK? (Turbonetics GT-K 850) -
Hi all. I'm looking for a turbo for my RB30DET project. My goal is 800 - 850hk on boost, and another 100 - 150hk NOS shot on the 1/4 mile track. (Flywheel HK) Have 2 garretts and one tubonetics in mind. GT4094R GT4294R Or the new GTK 850hk turbo. 8000 rpms limit, high lift cams etc etc.. Which turbo would be my be my best bet? Want as early spool as possible, but still within my goals

Thank you for the reply. you dont happen to know which wire at the cluster that is the signal wire? Were it comes in, and goes out again. There is 4 wires total for the speedo, i can find + and -. So the last two is signal in and out? thanks
-
Hi all. On a R33 GTS, RB25DET series 1, i need to find the the wire on the instrument cluster were the speed signal is in. If i understand this correct, from the sensor it goes to the ECU and to the cluster. My new vipec ECU can control the speedo, and I am trying to getting this to work but cant seem to locate the signal wire at the cluster.

Need Advise About Afm..
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I prefer AFM over MAP anyday... So would rather find a solution with AFM. Look like I will need to use 2 x z32 AFM together with SAFC.. The new NEO version of the SAFC, can that still combine the two AFM signals as the older SAFC-II? -

AFM are mounted on pressure side. A z32 in a 4" pipe, how much power will that be able to cope with? The place it takes up is very important, as there isnt much to give. But looks like the two AFM are the best solution? -
Hi. Am building up a 1000hk rb 30engine.. (3.4 liter when spool gets his stroker kit ready) 800hk on boost for track days, and 150 - 200hk nos ontop of that when quartermile. I use apexi FC commander, (AFM model) Question is what do I do with my AFM so it wont be maxed out? (I have a z32 AFM) I have 3 things in mind. 1. Either buy one more z32 AFM, use a apexi SAFC neo to splice the two signals to one. 2. Use my current z32 together with Y pipe. 3. Or mount my z32 sensor in a 4" pipe. Th car is a daily driver, so i need low stable rpms. Which option of the above 3, do you guys think is the best solution? Number 3, if that will support it, is what I am hoping for... Number 1 and 2 take up alot more space in a already compact 200sx - s13 engine bay... Thank you.
-
Okay.. Thank you. Am looking at the 1.15 rear housing.

Hi. Plates has come of the car so ill have money to build next project which is a ~900 - 1000hk nissan 200sx - s13. Will be using a buildt RB30, with a stroker crank from Spool, when they are done. Together with spool rods and CP pistons and my RB25 head. Yes yes. RB26 head may be better. But I want to use the RB25 head, to show it can. :-) Anyway. the question is, when will i see full boost with a GT4508R charger on 6 cylenders with 3.4 Liters. Fully built head with cams, gears, springs, lifters, porting etc etc. Prob somekind of 270 degrees cams, and 10 - 11 mm lift. Thank you. Ronni Any comments or ideas for cam choice is much appreciated. But please remember i want to use the RB25 head. I'm a machinest so can modify if needed.
-
Hi all... As headline says, how much should I max pay for a complete RB26 plenum assy. (plenum chamber, throttle bodys, and injector plate.) Also which part supply the water to the head? I think it runs inside the injector plate? I only have a RB25 head and parts, so dont know. hehe. Yes I know i wnt fit directly, will just CNC a adaptor plate stuff. 250$ for a good rb30 engine is that okay?
-
Thanks for all the replys. Have contact to a company that will help me out. Waiting for pice on freight.
-
I know frieght will be expensive, but will prob buy 2 - 4 engines, shipping should be tha same as I pay for a whole, dont know the word in english. Storage area, shipping wise. It wont be weight that has the final word on price. Arg. Bad explanation. Im sorry, but want a used block as I want to build it myself. But thanks!
-
Hi all. Im from denmark, and its not easy to get hold of a used RB30 block. Do you guys know a company that will ship a used B30 block to denmark?

My Own Pistons And Rods...
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
in relation to expansion... pistons is alu.... Rods are under them so should get alot LESS heat. -
My Own Pistons And Rods...
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I want to make them, because I can make them myself. This is one long learning process..... So they will be tested in a engine on a test stand first. hehe. I know alu expans more, but there is ALOT of different alu.. Some expand more than others, and how hot is the rod going to be???? Recon it wont be hotter than the oil its covered with? Then its faily easy to calculate how much it will expand. We have a danish dragster team, they have over 6000hk and have seen one of thier homebuilt rods. Its alu, and just much much more beefy. thats it. Like the one i have drawn, but mine is going NO WERE near 6000hk, its maybe going to take 1000hk. (This is far out in future dreams, if rods and pistons are made by me, and tested etc etc etc.) Ï know aftermarket rods usually are somekind of steel... But they can be made in alu also. My new company I work for make ALOT of aluparts for the military.. (also carbon parts for that matter) Could rods be made in carbon? <-- crazy thougt? If the say the lenght of the rod, this is way way overrated, would expand just 0.1mm. How much influence does that have???? Would recon nothing, as the squish is more than 0.1 mm, and piston to valve clerance is also bigger. (pistons could just be made with cut outs for valves if an issue)' One more thing I havnt really gotten clearified is the design of pistons. They are not completly round, but how much?? I recon this has some corolation to how much it expans.? (Sorry for bad english, some technical words im not sure of in english) -
My Own Pistons And Rods...
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
How much does a single rod weigh? from say HKS.. -
Hi. Have just finished my education, FINALLY!!! And have gotten a new job with acces to much more "fun" machines. hehe. Its basicly just draw it in solidworks, CAD/CAM, and make the part. Sooo, i wanna make my own pistons and con rods. Have thought of 7075 aluminium for the rods, but dont know what material for the pistons. Rods are much more beefy than std rods, as they are aluminium so need to be bigger. This design has been tested in COSMOS (in solidworks, with very high test loads) and it have been redesigned some times to get to this. In solidworks, with correct material inputted they can withstand over 2000nm of force down on them, and also in pull and twist. They are not too wide so they will touch pistons when engine is turning, have measured and tested. The chamfer in the top hole for lubrication is a little bigger than std. On picture the big ends bearing caps are not cut out. Are there anything I should be aware of when building my own rods?? Now to the pistons... What material? How about design?
