  8. I'd also look at avoid cruising in known hot spots. don't stand out unless you are into that sexspec scene and dont stand out with your driving style...! Chris above makes some good points.
  9. There is a difference in working in the industry to dealing with them So I've gone to 5 chemists i should list about medication advice? No. Anyway, how you interpret a pds to how someone else does to how the company does are 3 different things and is best to leave it to the individual to ring the said company. In terms of wrong info you haven't asked me for correct info on Dawes and you have left if there, as you know I'm the manager there. I don't like to advertise that cause I get people pming me for quotes, cheap prices and advice etc. Anyhoo, last I'll post in here and my last words of advice. - ring each insurer for quotes. Shop around - read their pds for exclusions, limitations. Conditions, features -compare apples with apples - don't be price driven Contact insurance council of Australia for other insurers. If you deal with an insurer, make sure they are part of the code of practice. More rules insurer deals with. If you har a complaint, write to them first. Then if not satisfied go to higher management/IDR process. If Not rectified ten financial ombudsman What I'd do for this thread is link all pds and point out what pages all details are on so there is no chance of slight interpretation, make everyone read it themselves! Cheers
  10. My link on page 1
  11. whats a photo stat? lol
  12. NRMA manager?
  13. MX5 is 950kg and trailer is 350-400kg
  14. diesel X trail has 360nm current VX berlina has 305nm not a bad upgrade!
  15. So cbf reading bucket load of pages! X trails....say 09 on wards diesel. I've noticed that the autos are 1350kg towing and manuals are 2000kg towing. What's reason behind that? And I guess towing the mx5 and trailer, would it be that hard on the manual? Seen a few around 20k to 22k which don't seem too bad.
  16. Www.needabroker.com.au Or something similar? It's same pds with dawes, just changes behind the front lines that changes how and who gets cover and what cover they get.
  17. Terry, Must stress that Dawes has changed their guidelines and a lot has changed. They also only insure through insurance brokers and not direct. Id also point out most of these are subject (all insurers) to underwriting criteria and guidelines and you may not be subject to some features and benefits or have limitations and exclusions. Ie with Shannon's if you have an r34 you got bucklies of getting salvage rights. Not to put a downer on this thread, but it's up to the person buying insurance they have read the pds themselves and if ilunsure ask the insurer directly or go thriugh a broker, not read a forum.
  18. what did you talk about?
  19. the PF guys are always good for a laugh!
  20. bump i'll just leave this here..... http://performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?67283987-anyone-know-these-lying-dodgy-dream boats-Jason-Sinai-Speedsource-Australia/page1
  21. who said Im in the industry? lol that obvious? hehe Nah, Shannons became sales orientated and 'get the business' from 2006 onwards. They employed more sales people or people interested in sales rather than underwriting and building rapport. 'oh, you have an excel with an exhaust and you read hot 4's? you must be quoted by Shannons!' thats what gave me the shits and leave.
  22. Ben, Quite a few people here work in the industry that's all. One thing, don't have to be in a car club with Shannon's. Just have to 'prove' you are an enthusiast when they screen you at the beginning of a quote. All I can suggest for people looking for insurance... - read pds. Front to back. Read all exclusions not just benefits - shop around. Market is full of insurers - use a broker. They have access to other insurers public doesnt - ask questions on mods and drivers and potentional younger drivers than you - ask about fitting more mods - define agreed value and market value That's all I'll suggest
  23. Ben, who was registered owner and who had the financial interest? you or your parents?
