  5. Sorry Corinne, Not doing this day - car is going to cop an abusing over long weekend so I want to save it for that. I'll most likely do the next day of this.
  6. Drew, with my set up - I do on average 10 days a year at the track - first time I had stock standard suspension - fun but was...well....slower than my old VT commodore!!! first step I did the springs and shocks from syd kid car felt alot more alive! and handled better, much better! now Ive got the sway bars and castor it should do much better, but also - tyre choices now come into play. so on the easter sat track day, my car with just those mods, I feel will increase corner speed and reduce body roll, lowering my lap times. EC in my VT LS1 did 2.02 (FE2 suspension, king springs, kings camber kit (rear),whiteline front strut brace) In my line did around 2:09 standard suspension so if I dont get under 2:02....there is something wrong with my driving So my question is - 2nd hand suspension might be cheap short term, but long term, rebuild?replacement? Might be worth it to pay that little bit extra and get brand newies - such as the group buy? Anyhoo - I prob have no idea so Im off hehehe
  7. hmm.... My guess - would you need all those components for daily use? I mean if it were a dedicated track car yes. And if those parts you are looking at are 2nd hand - would they need rebuilding later on? and cost for that? And what sort of settings can you get from those parts different/similar to syd kids? I guess we'll have to wait for Syd kid to reply
  8. Drew - When you say Sydney kids deal for 2k...what do you want/need? I paid just over 1700 for springs, shocks, front and rear sway bars and front adjustable castor. And car feels absolutely awesome. I could take you for a ride in it sometime? sure its in a 33, but could give you an idea?
  9. Dammit. Guys, even if you know someone with info - can you please pass it on? this is urgent!!!!
  10. spotted DJ Brave in the tree lines, bunkers and dam at Royal Asquith today! And Tinks in the club house with us after Top day!
  11. Hey guys, quick question - I need to get some seat rails made up for my seat, but the guy who I saw today, said I need a nissan rail, but with no height adjusters - just a basic seat base rail set up with rails Does anyone know if R31 seats would fit R33 rails with no height adjusters? Or - does anyone know what other type of rails I would need? btw I am in Sydney! Cheers Chris

  13. man this sounds like a challenge!! I think when/if I upgrade my turbo - I'll be taking it to a workshop Dave - let us know how you go with it!
  14. Adam, So whats the list of entrys like? Who and how many?
  15. man Id love a hot rod!! I have alot of admiration and respect for the blokes who build these cars, I know quite a few people with them, and some builds have taken more than 10 years. Also - if you want to see some nice rods - theres a hot rod show up at newcastle over this weekend now - back to plates.... in NSW depending on plates - its like another 180 a year to like 400 a year on top of your rego - are they that important?
  16. BHDave - secret :D Nick - thanks heaps for the info dude much appreciated!
  17. sweet, I mean Im not someone who is out there trying every lap to get my PB lower! But something that will hold up well for my level of skill (lack of? ) and then later on if I get a car thats more suited for the track I'll be going the tyres you suggested! Just for now I think with my level, the 615's and equivalent brands will do for me!
  18. well of the 615's are replacing the 215's that answers my question hehehe Beer - I totally agree with what you are saying, but my budget at the moment will only allow me to go falkens.
  19. Oh, Ive got a quote for the rt615's for 220 each also and the tempe website doesnt mention much..well, anything at all on these tyres...not muchhelp there!
  20. Hey guys, Just been looking at the two tyre types here, just wondering what other peoples thoughts are, and who uses what and which do you guys think are a better tyre - mainly as a second set, thats mainly used on the track (which is like 10 times a year, very rarely!) Obviously there is different tread pattern, thats the rt615 and now the rt215 Discuss
  21. now that you have joined (and good stuff by the way ) have a look at the drift day info - put some stockers on and enjoy those 300rwkw sideways in a controlled envirnment
  22. Agree with ScorpGTX. But yes, Of course changing lanes or reversing/blind spot etc through dark tint can deny a claim, once again depends on insurer. However as I said before - if its not the cause of an accident, highly unlikely a claim will be declined just because of tinted windows. E.g - If someone hit you, as they failed to give way at a give way sign, and you have that tint, your car isnt going to be covered? Or For some unlucky reason you missjudged braking and ran up back of someone, did the tint cause that and are they going to deny claim because of tint? highly unlikely.
  23. SAU NSW ftw Sounds like some nice mods in there - should bring it to the SAU NSW Drift day on Easter monday
