get an MX5 and be cool like me Zebbie cheap cheap!! buy cheap NA6 with or without rego - 3k buy NA8 motor - $500 buy exhaust and intake - 1k buy roll bar - $800 buy seat and harness - $500 max buy wheels and semi's - $1500 max buy coilovers - 1k max or get second hand 500? rotors and pads - 200 - 400 do most yourself - about 8.5k could get stuff cheaper too and be really tight for 8k and go racing. or as you said - buy something on my105 already done - so many options! and superTT is a fun class/series

hahaha all good mate - Im an easy going bloke and love a chat! infact these MRA guys n gals (majority) are really approachable and friendly! My mate Ryan in the red SSS doing 1.08's is street rego'd with full cage....until he gets caught..? haha I dont think they'll allow half cages ? if you have an MX5 you can get away with just a CAMS approved roll bar.

I was too busy concentrating against that Alfa and before I knew it 6 laps was up but with those other MX5's, Nick in the turbo NA6 came into pits as had coil/plug dramas, and 3 other MX5's followed him thinking that was the end of the race, Nick went back out but because the other 3 had already left pitlane to go into paddock they were not allowed to re-enter. So 3rd place was mine!! fkn booyaaa I'll take what I can get esp I have the lowest power there! did you see the big oil down from the future racers? 75% of the track was fubared Ive never had the MX5 that sideways before!!! so whats your plans? racing next year?

sup lads! managed a 1.13.6 in race 2 - a PB managed 3rd in race 1 superTT = I need more power and less cars in qualfying. could not get any space and managed a 1.15.3 there were about 9 of us doing 1.15 and we all 2 seconds off. few people on slicks, others not but made for some good battles. I dont think I'll be racing from now until Jan so my plan is clutch ECU Cams

so its this sunday - apparantly there are 50 cars entered for superTT so 2 divisions. What Ryan forgot to mention was that my VX Berlina V6 towing my MX5 race car beat his VY SS V8 towing his R33 at a set of lights!! slowest. dragrace. ever!

A workmate is looking at buying a race only car - he was under the impression to buy once of these cars from ichi - you had to show/have a CAMS PC licence or similar. is this the case? If it were sure Ichi could still bring and sell them to the right people!

Ash - no dramas! yeah id imgaine it would be similar situation with Winton. Fatz - do it. IIRC you can still race with a CAMS PC licence also - however the car just needs to be AASA log booked. otherwise $100 for the national AASA and $70 or so for a medical.

Ash, that was emailed to me as Im on their mailing list. thats mostly the big events like MRA and state rounds- sprints (CAMS state and club) etc and club days/nationals wouldnt be there just yet. Ryan - all depends if I end up in your situation hehe I think budget wise MRA will be my only events as my 30th is on the wakie 300 weekend
