Hks Hypermax Ii Coilovers
PSI_GTSII replied to frozenwaffles's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I just recieved my Hipermax III coilovers from Nengun for my 32 GTR (the II's have been discontinued) they are a nice looking unit, and cost just over 2G delivered. Xspeed are fitting them on 11th June $247 +$85 for a wheel alignment, it is not worth getting your hands dirty for that sort of price! -
Interior is next on the agenda for my R32 GTR I am liking the interior theme in the 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superlegga (and latest Aston Martin DB9) Love the all black stitched suede on the seats and carried thru to the dash, would it be possible to trim the R32 GTR dash / centre console in a similar fashion...?

Cashed in my LSL from work, plus sale of last performance car enabled me to buy my GTR outright

Anyone Know What Nissan This Is ?
PSI_GTSII replied to gazza750's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The one in the picture is AUS Spec Nissan Gazelle so is CA20e powered (Turbos were'nt sold from factory here) It is also a Notchback, they came in a Hatchback style also. Look nice but need engine conversion, CA18DET and FJ20T factory fit in Japan. -
BTW, I run Federal 595RS tyres, but I don't launch the car hard (6000rpm launch and 'feed' the clutch out) Confident I could recreate that time on 195/70/14 'Bob Jane Allrounders'

I have taken this GTR to the drags on 3 seperate occasions, i'm not into drag racing just like to get a time after I have made a modifaction. 1st time out in car when it had 315rwHP it ran 3 x 12.6's at 180kmh 2.1 60ft 2nd time out with same HP but Button Clutch resulted in a 12.4 @ 178kmh 1.9 60ft 3rd time out with power increased to 400rwHP I did one pass only which was an 11.9, I looked at the timesheet and figured I was'nt going to beat my 1.7 60ft from that run, and the rest of the run was pretty flawless, so was'nt going to go any faster, had got my 11 second pass, so went home You have less HP than me. You have more
-
Well like I said its a high 11 car.......it ran a 11.9 with a 1.794 60ft, and last time I checked that makes it an 11 second car When I bought the Turbos they were called Garrett 2560r, it is equivilent to the GT-SS, N1's etc For the sum of my cars parts it performs quite well, and goes to show you can achieve a 300rwKW goal reletively cheap and easily. This however is the point of diminishing returns....to go a little bit faster now is going to cost a lot more money
-
FTR my R32 GTR produced 300rwKW recently Standard Internals Standard Injectors Standard Fuel Pump Standard AFMs Standard Cams 7500rpm Rev limit Garrett GT2560r Turbos Trust / Greddy Front and Dump pipes Jasma 3" Exhaust PFC with PFC Boost control Runs High 11's @ around 190kmh Car produce's the numbers at the dyno and the track, but dont get to excited as does not feel that fast in day to day driving. Linear power delivery (almost straight line on dyno graph) plus 4WD grip makes it all feel kinda...Meh!

Which Coilovers Would You Choose?
PSI_GTSII replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
At my age i'd like to think I was a little past bragging to my mates about suspension brand names...!..? And Bling is not what my car is about at all, everything I have done is there for a reason, and that reason is not to be the fastest around a track, it is to have a nice example of the marque and for it to be proficient / competitive at everything....on a budget True, If I was to fiddle with the shock and rebound myself then that would be exactly right, I will however not fiddle with it, I will have the suspension installed by a pro, I'll explain to him what I want from my vehicle, have him set it up to how they reckon and will probably never touch it again! Heck I have now had 4 Vehicles with Aftermarket Management and handcontrollers in the cabin and have never messed with the tuners settings yet, why would I with the suspension.... -
High Performance Tyre Survey
PSI_GTSII replied to Bullet32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I run FEDERAL 595-RS's (265/35/18's). Perfect tyre for me as my GTR only gets used occasionally for the odd track day, Cruize, and trip to work all in all less than 3000kms per year, I cannot warrant a true Semi Slick or second set of rims. The tyres make me 'Competitive' at track days but not the fastest, as Snowman mentioned a true semi slick would be required then, but having said that my PB dropped by 2 seconds around Barbagello over original Bridgestones. Never really had decent tyres but I must say the grip levels were imidiately noticeable over the 245/40/18 Bridgestone 'performance' Street tyres fitted previous....I was very impressed A+++++ will buy again -

Thanks for the opinions guys, in the end I went with these: HKS HipermaxII...Good value..good quality...Good ontrack performance, not so good on Road suits me fine as my car only travels 3000kms or less per year Also grabbed a few other bits and pieces, all for $2900 delivered which seems pretty good value....just hope the Mrs don't find out HKS Kansai type 3 Tower bar...looks tough.. Apexi intake system....hate my current dirty Green Mushroom Air filters.. Trust Greddy Catch Can....Motors getting old.. Trust Greddy oil filter relocator....Getting to GTR oil filter sucks Arse Nismo oil cap....well...Wank -
Which Coilovers Would You Choose?
PSI_GTSII replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I knew I would have to explain myself regarding this decision Basically all it boils down to is I want a change, I know for a fact SK's Whiteline group buy will be a well sorted package, better infact than a set of Jap Coilovers.....because.....I have ran Whiteline springs, Swaybars, strutbraces etc with Koni Shocks in my last two Performance cars (SR20DET Bluebird & RB30ET R31 SVD GTSII Skyline). Coming from a background of Engine swaps into Predominantly Aussie sold Jap cars I was always envious of the Jap import boys seemingly endless availabilty of Bolt in over the counter stuff, now I am one of those people I want to do the same -

benm: Thx mate i've seen the whiteline groupbuy, for right or wrong its not really what i'm after nytsky: just nengun mate -
Well it appears I have accumulated a bit of money in my bank Account again, so before the Mrs finds out I figure its best to spend it on the GTR Looking to replace my Standard suspension next. Car has 400rwHP, Runs Semi RComp Tyres, Brembo F50 brakes, and Button clutch but everything else is standard. Car is a toy, is used only for Track days, cruizes and maybe the odd show, so dont need / want anything to flash. I've pretty much narrowed my choices to whats shown below, which is budget adjustable ride height Coilovers. They all seem fairly similar in price and features so which do you guys reckon is the pick of the bunch, any that should be avoided, or are they all much of a muchness and should I just buy the ones with the brand name I prefer? Apexi N1 Evolution Damper Curcuit Key Features - Upper mounts for all models and adjustable upper mount where appropriate - Largest diameter available, 52/46 diamemer and single tube type cylinder - Upright type adjustable in 25 steps, inverted type adjustable in 13 steps - Advanced new damper oil which controls oil deterioration developed from GT racing - Quick adjustment for attenuation power adjustment - Dust boots in all models - New design height pitch wrench attachment - Can be rebuilt $2700 Delivered Buddy Club - Club Racing Damper - Height adjustablity w/ high quality aluminum perches - 15 way adjustable dampening - Pillowball upper mount and camber plate - Buddy Club springs $1905 Delivered Cusco - Zero 2 Suspension $1790 Delivered Endless Zeal function Xs Linear Spring Motion with no Friction Loss is superior and the shock can be adjusted precisely (Function-Xs includes 6-Way Damping Adjustability). Gt-r's Past Their Used By Date?
PSI_GTSII replied to djr81's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Got them thru Perth Brake Parts in Kewdale It was a toss up between these and a set of AP Racing, personally I preferred the AP Racing Calipers / Disks, but went for the Brembos on account of percieved originality...... -
