Rb26 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results
PSI_GTSII replied to SLY33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Some big numbers in here, makes my figure look lame... 1990 R32GTR 77'000kms It did run 400rwHP, and suprisingly had plenty of injector duty cycle left (And Boost), but 2 degrees was pulled from the timing as at the end of the day it is an old motor and no point in killing it just yet! Still all in all not to bad for the sum of its parts Engine: RB26DETT Internals: Stock Cams: Stock Cam Gears: Stock Injectors: Stock Fuel Pump: Stock AFMs: Stock Intercooler: Stock Turbos: Garret GT2560r's Front Pipe: Trust / Greddy Dumps: Trust / Greddy Catalic Converter: N/A Exhaust: Jasma 3" ECU: PFC (Non D-Jetro) Boost Control: PFC Boost controller (Set 18psi) -
When my 32 GTR had 228rwKW it ran a 12.4 @ 181kmh. (112mph) I'd be changing to 4th before the end of the qtr. I'm not interested in destoying my car to shave a few tenths so stage my car at around 5500rpm, and feed the clutch out quickly, results in consistent 1.9 60fts I went from a 340rwHP 2WD RB30ET Skyline previous and I must say launching a GTR is 110% easier and more consistant

If its a GTR Cut the Green and Yellow Wire...I never had any adverse effects.
-
Even so 320HP is not a lot to be pushing big top speeds I'd imagine the one Nissan sent to the Nurburgring would be a 'Healthy' example
-
Thats the video The GTR sits bang on 240kmh for a good 20seconds or so....how can that not be its top speed...!..? 280HP is not really alot to be pushing big top speeds
-
Yes thats the Video. It is a 260kmh Speedo.....however the needle never gets anywhere near 260 The driver runs it out to 230kmh in 4th it then stops at what looks like 238 - 239kmh in 5th for ages, with a small burst to 242kmh or so as it goes down a slight dip. 240kmh is the realistic top speed of a standard R32 GTR hanyou: BTW your 400m time of 12.427 @ 111.95mph @ WSID - R32 GTR, is almost identical to mine 12.432 @ 111.94mph @ Motorplex - R32 GTR

Skyline Big Brake Kits Pictured
PSI_GTSII replied to pistonfreak's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I have a set of Brembo F50's (355mm) on my R32 GTR and they are a $5000 proposition for the fronts only. Definate improvements in feel on the track however standard Brembo pads seem a little more road than track orientated. -
A stock R32 GTR will not hit 280km/h..... Watch the video on the net of the R32 GTR at the nurburgring, the driver has it booted for quite some time down the huge straight and it hits a brick wall around 235-240kmh

Short Story How can I find out what the Boost is set at from a recent tune on my PFC Handcontoller? And how can I change it? I have been into - Settings - Boost - and there is 4 different figures in there such as 1 .70 2. .85 3 1.00 4 1.20 I can adjust these figures up or Down, but doing so dos'nt change the Peak Boost setting shown in the Display mode when I drive it, or does it affect the performance of the car. Long Story The reason I ask I had a PowerFC and PowerFC Boost control kit fitted to my car and had it tuned on Wednesday then drove straight to the drags from the Tuners. It Made 355rwHP @ 18psi from 315rwHP @ 14 psi previous on the same dyno, and it definately felt noticeablely faster on the 2 squirts I gave it on the way down to the Motorplex....i felt fairly confident it would do an 11.9, if not the MPH would definately improve. Previously (with 315 @ 14psi) I had ran 3 x 12.6's @ 180kmh with easy 2.0 60fts On Wednesday night (with a supposed 355 @ 18psi) I ran identical times all at 180kmh, and again with 2.0 60fts...comparing time sheets to previous runs with 315rwHP every increment was identical to my suppossed now 355rwHP (330ft, 660ft etc) I was not happy as this suggests I am making no more HP...... There is no boost guage in my car but after a quick squirt on the way to work the next day I noticed the Peak boost on the PFC handcontroler was only .95 bar (14psi), this would explain why my times were identical but why has it happened? I did notice a strange electrical type pause whilst driving to the drags after the 2nd squirt I gave it, could the PFC have shorted out / reset itself? Or has it just a simple boost leak? I figure to find out if its a PFC problem I need to find where the programed Boost setting is and see if it has changed from 18psi, but cannot seem to find it. If its a blown IC pipe / Boost leak I need to find out how to increase the Boost via the Handcontroller, again something I am not sure how to do..? It goes in on Monday to have it checked out / Fixed but I would'nt mind having a Play over the weekend Cheers Lindsay

Well I am happier now after finding out there was indeed a problem with my car on the night I had it tuned Wednesday and drove straight to the drags It Made 355rwHP @ 18psi from 315rwHP @ 14 psi previous, and it definately felt faster on the 2 squirts I gave it on the way down to the Motorplex, i felt fairly confident it would do an 11.9. Previously (with 315 @ 14psi) I had ran 3 x 12.6's @ 180kmh On Wednesday (with supposedly 355 @ 18psi) I ran a 12.4, 12.6 & 12.8 all at 180kmh Turns out somewhere between the tuners and the drags the PFC Boost controller has reverted back to 14psi, or its has a boost leak, as all it boosts to now is .95 bar which would explain why the times were exactly the same.... Goes in Monday to be sorted out.

This kinda sums up my night $1400 for PFC and Boost Controller $600 for fitting and tune $1000 new clutch $40 Entry to the drags Gaining 40rwHP more than before on same dyno Yet only running .2 seconds quicker over the quarter with slower MPH than before. PRICELESS (FTR it ran a 12.4)
-
Not quite finished yet but heres my soon to be Triple Garage with built in Store room. GTR is to sit down the back. Dos'nt look that big in the pics but it is quite a large area
-
Ran a 12.6 @ 182 with 2.1 60ft previous Have added new clutch, Boost and PFC now. Aiming for an 11 with an easy launch SAUWA Drag day looks like the perfect opertunity to try
-
Might have another bash, car is Booked in on the 7th Feb to have PFC tuned, and has just had Clutch fitted, neither of which will make much difference to my lap time...I just want a dry track this time
-
To answer your original question, if I were you I would: 1. Get rid of the Extra injectors and fit 6 Bigger ones (Sard or Similar) 2. Fit powerFC Reason: Your setup is messy, Extra injectors are not ideal they are a stop gap measure, Fitting and tuning a PFC as well as buying 6 x Sard injectors will cost about the same as getting a Wolf fitted and tuned on your current setup. Fitting the PFC will not nessacarily give you anymore rwHP but it will run smoother and more efficiently than your current setup. If you do want to keep your current setup you may have to go with the Wolf as I am not sure the PFC has 2 x Auxilary outputs to run the staged Injectors

For my money on my RB26DETT PFC all the way. I do not want to pay for a whole heap of Wank features I (& about 80% of other ECU buyers!) am never going to need or use. I dont care who has ran what ET on what ECU. I have ran about 5 tuneable ECUs over the past 13years, the PFC is cheap, popular and flexible and is the only one I find it hard / impossible to tell I actually have an aftermarket ECU Fitted, which is what its all about really

VBH in a GTR
-
Hyperdrive fitted my Trust Dumps and Front pipe, as well as GT2560r's whilst motor in car. By all accounts it was not a pleasant experience for them
-
Its only when you get into the 5% stuff do I find you have driveabilty issues (Can't see down sidestreets at night etc) 15% is fine, and is the one I normally go for. Although on my GTR I thought all that black would be a bit dark (Police attention) so went the 30%. Still in some lights they look very similar
-
Yasree @ Protec Osbourne Park Does all my cars, will do whatever tint you want. 15% on my LWB NM Pajero $260 30% on my R32 GTR $220 Top bloke great prices Quality work
-
Heres mine for an R32 GTR. Probably fit it early next year sometime.
-
Nice Schematic(?) cheers Maybe the bolt is still tight and the bracket itself is fatiqued / Ripped and bends over under load....? Best I get in the footwell and have a look I think
-
Yeah....probably had a lot to do with it...people do some pretty f*cked up things, when f*cked up things are going on in there life.

Bloody Hendo hey...! Knew him way back when he worked for Volvo, and had just gotton his FJ20 1600. He has had a bit of a rough run lately with Parents dying and wife, buisness etc......
