  1. bam, gone against any ls1 hsv's? got a vy r8 in the garage that i wouldn't mind taking out for a run against you . whens your car come back?
  2. vspec, mc was a learning experience (again). Tip for later: don't go into mc with bald front tyres expecting to keep up with the nimble fwd mofo's. My friend in an aw11 also owned me on every round. Well, every round he didn't spin in .
  3. Cya micko. vspec, yeah picked it up on friday and went to mc on saturday . Still trying to quantify the difference before I start a thread about it. Really need to jump in a car with s-afc, intercooler and stock plenum to remind me what it was like. 5 wks without driving it doesn't help my memory.
  4. Hey there everybody. vspec, got your sms, call me when neo and yourself find some time this week.
  5. Factory airbox from a R33 GTS25t with cold air scoop. $130. Current best offer: $130 Take a read of this thread if you're interested in the benefits: franks review on a stock airbox vs pod. Stock upper plenum from R33 RB25DET. $170. Current best offer: $75 Perfect if you want to modify the plenum with a front facing throttle body, but don't want a lot of downtime while its being modified and want to be able to bring your engine back to stock. Factory R33 a/c / emergency fan. $100. SOLD for $50. Bolts infront of radiator. Factory R33 RB25DET intercooler. $100. SOLD for $100. Stock 60mm R33 RB25DET throttle body. $60. SOLD for $50. Apparently good for 400hp at 1.2bar. All offers considered. Will mail anywhere, but not prepared to COD heavier items because of postage costs in case of unclaimed items. Ask WA moderators skyzer33 or Boostzor for character references if you don't know/trust me .
  6. lol @ zanda deesh, the coke bottle rocks! Its the kind of quality engineering we've come to expect from Coca Cola Corp. Afterall, if it can hold concrete etching coke for months at end, whats a little luke warm oil? Twin coke bottle mod is coming. The hose attaching the left and right breathers together has a crack in it, so I may as well run new piping from the left breather to a bottle of its own BTW, test drove the car today and its insanity peppers. Modified plenum mod is highly reconmended for all you fmic'ers.
  7. Pretty much the first time its been checked, yeah. Just got a call from Danny, it pulled 280rwhp (shootout) after tuning on SST's rollers with no sign of detonation. The front facing plenum mod is a success! . 280rwhp isn't anthing special, but its about all a 5 knob s-afc is going to let us safely extract.
  8. 350mL of oil in vapour after 20L of oil has passed through it (4 oil changes). Could that be classed as normal? Macka has that filter on his breather, does he find a layer of oil coating his bonnet lining? The catch can mod is damn useful. All this oil would be lining the inside of my intercooler and clogging the idle solenoid otherwise.
  9. Danny at Global did the test. So you think a leak down is the way? But I'm blissfully in denial right now, a leak down might change that .
  10. The thing is I can blame the low readings on an uncharged battery and unlubruicated cylinder walls. Compression test results can be random like that. I'll see if Steve thinks the dyno reading tomorrow is about average or too low.
  11. Using one of these: http://www.altronics.com.au/cat.asp?cat=11...rp=424&id=K2750 Lots of custom work involved, so don't ask me how much erik!
  12. What floggin? And it was jashs wife's, so I think its been treated well (although jeff tells me she has speed in her blood). RedLineGTR, go whore in your own state.:bonk:
  13. Compression test came back even, all cylinders between 125 and 130. Its lower than optimum, but that can be put down to normal wear and tear. Just glad none of the cylinders are dead . The car hasn't been used in 4-5wks, so the battery wouldn't be at full charge and cylinder walls may be too dry to seal well. Could be a reason for low readings, yeah? GTS-t VSPEC, leak down test would tell me more, but its generally the next step after a compression test, so one had to be done anyway. I'm fairly sure what leakage I have can be put down to rings. adam 32, thats the plan .
  14. RB30DET conversion is on the cards cam, but I'd rather not have to do anything, you know?
  15. Lol @ NO_RSPECT. Thanks dudes.
  16. Shh, no talk of rebuilds till after compression results are in.
  17. *looks at cams avatar* The engine is loving all that tlc . But yeah, low across the board is a little better than one or two completly dead pistons.
  18. Got woken up by my mechanic with bad news today - the catch can, a 700mL coke bottle, is half full of oil. 18 months ago it was just slightly misty, so something may have happened internally since then. I haven't felt anything wrong with its performance, but apparently broken ring lands can be silent killers like that. A compression test is being done to find out whats going on. Everyone think positive thoughts! Gradenko can't afford a rebuild without a job. Hire him!
  19. Hey SHUTO-BOY, how'd the visit to sst go?
  20. Can you let us know what diameter the intake and outlet pipes are? Unless they've put some thought into it (and it doesn't look like it), this setup is going to do anything but reduce lag. Also, while swapping to an electrical fan is no bad thing, it didn't have to happen. The route that piping takes definitely doesn't interfere with the clutch fan if its done properly. I've had a very similar layout in my car for sometime. BTW, what possesed you to get a fake intercooler and GTR badge? (mutters something demoralising about ricers)
