Micko, 1 week, 5 days... just like the sig says
-
Micko, you're right. I stand corrected. Still wouldn't pay for a Sony though, gives me that "unclean" feeling. Like using Microsoft or looking at Bush's face
-
No expert, just don't trust sales droids, so I'm forced to do my own research Honestly, if you're going to use your telly for sound and basic composite video for video, then a strathfield-priced player will do everything you want. CD/CD-R/SVCD/DVD/mp3s and region free at a low price. Like rev said, the mpeg chipset and board these players use (mostly zoran?) are off the shelf, so theres not much design for them to screw up. If you're more of a name brand type person (safe way to go), then low end Panasonic and Pioneers would be my pick. Panasonic may not play mp3s but both should be region free (ask the salesman and bring a test disc just in case). Price for them should be similar ~$350. If you have a Myer or DJ shareholder card, ask them to price match and use the card. Otherwise, break the balls of a local retravision or hardley normal sales droid for a good price.

rev210, things would get a hell of a lot better if the americans would recognize true black to be 0IRE instead of whatever the hell they think it is (7.5 issit?). adam 32, you enjoy playing region 1 discs on your Sony? I don't think I've heard of a region free model by them. Ever. And mods are expensive too. I'm not a Sony head so don't hang me it their latest stuff can do it
-
Niz, thats exactly what I said in my first post, except you took the old guy thing to heart. Old women are the worst, but that sounded too sexist, so I went with old man. Joe, if you can extend your budget to $350-$360, Pioneer 355s should be within your reach. Very good players and can be found region free outta the box. Not Sony, ever!
-
No one here to impress, is there? :shake:
-
The group of ppl who have unkept stock cars isn't limited to old men and poseurs (obviously), neither do old men and poseurs *only* have unkept stock cars (similarly obvious). All I'm saying is that stereotypes don't hold and a stock engine isn't a get out of jail free card.
-
33Spec2, the old theory goes that a completely stock car will have a had an easy life, so it'll be ripe for mods. Heres another theory: A completely stock car has been owned by captain old guy/poseur head who wouldn't have cared much for mechanical maintenance. They wouldn't have warmed the car up before putting the boot in, they wouldn't have changed the oil every 5-10k km, they would have bought lower quality lubes and taken the super budget route with repairs in general. I've seen examples of both theories, but the latter is far more common. Safest way is to inspect any car *very* careful regardless of the level of mods.

aw11, yep, its the infamous drift vid Sneeza, plenty of time for the bruise to heal (hopefully), and if not, light make up does wonders. Just ask the tv celebs over 40 pretending to be 30
-
I'm sure you're to blame, VSPEC
-
Go on then. You'll just be putting more coin in Tel$tras pocket Its not like Best Motoring, which a company in Singapore makes english translations for and Autospeed sells on their shop. Option is only released in Japan, Japanese language only and no distributers in Australia.
-
Dude, if Skyzer can talk about engine manuals in nods and winks, then this should be ok. Thats far more illegal than an option svcd cause companies in Perth actually sell the manual. I'll give my left nut if Option care about a drift fan in the west of Australia making copies of their vid for other drift fans.
-
I'm pretty sure no one is liable because it was never released here. Only ever came out in Japan as a magazine cover DVD. Its the same reason why they can show anime at JAFWA, no one in Australia owns the rights to distribute so its pretty much free to watch and distribute, as long as its non-profit.
-
Adrian_perth, yeah it was silver, don't know if its the Blitz one though. This vid is solo competition styles, so no tandem drifts. I've seen that other one, versus drift comps are cool.
-
I have Option Drift vol. 100 sitting here on SVCD. Came out late last year and has some pretty damn cool footage on it. Just the couple of secs watching this R34 GT-T do a crazy dorifto was worth the d/l. .

Strich9ine, more than likely it is an AFM voltage cut. Had the same experience when setting up my bleeder. On top of whatsisname comments, also be weary of the accuracy of your boost gauge. I was hitting the cut at an indicated 10psi, which was way off. EBC may help hold boost better but it won't get rid of the AFM cut. Fuel cut defender will do that, but its fairly dangerous without aftermarket tuning to match. The AFM cut is there for a reason and getting rid of it while running stock fuel maps is a recipe for disaster. Personaly, I don't see any reason for deleting the AFM. Its a great measuring device (better than using MAP for road driving, IMHO) and isn't a huge restriciton like a flap AFM or Karman Vortex MAF. Only downside is really the reliability of the AFM. Before anyone tries this and gets into trouble, WD40 and AFMs do not mix well! Use electronic contact cleaner (1st choice) or carby cleaner (2nd choice).
-
GTS-t VSPEC, yip, I like to watch. Nizmo, it was taken as fun. Miss the smilies in my post, did you? Gotta go put the smackdown on PeakRPM in maintenance. "I'd be cleaning your AFM (carfully with silicon spray)" - jesus, this kinda misinfomation is going to hurt someone innocent. AFM's and WD40 do not mix well
-
GTS-t VSPEC, been lurking for a while, but all you guys do is talk about crap Theres you and macka fondling each other by day, ken and you cracking onto any female with a pulse by night, and dark who can barely keep it in his pants no matter what time of day What are you doing over in WA whoretown anyway dark?
-
Gotta love Thursday's Full Frequency on RTR. Best day by far! BTW, caminperth, you got a quote for 2 cam gears from Nengun, but you know R33 RB25's can only use one on the exhaust side, right? (Without losing vtc).
-
Seems like rev's new (fancy) s-afc II has a similar knock readout scale as the pfc. I think you should get rid of "stock ecu" from your sig, rev.
-
eriktufa, you've got me curious about the in gear problem you mentioned. I live in Winthrop too, so if we could meet up I can have a look and let you know if its ok or better explain the problem to the rest of the group. Drop me a private message to work things out. (Send a private message by pressing the button marked pm directly below this line).

I hear s13s with stock turbo's run upto 230rwhp on sst's dyno. So whats with this 240 figure? *stir* *stir*
-
Alright, I'm off, a 40min bus ride awaits.
-
Mesh restrcting airflow? I've heard the same thing. Don't think air has much choice when you start pushing though it at 40+km/h though. Besides, its not half as restrictive as the radiator is.
-
Channelling air through the cooler is also on the todo list. Have to pick up a sheet of Al one of these days.
