  1. Well, shes 18 now, so its all legit. Not that she wasn't desirable back in season 5
  2. SMG?? What about Trachtenberg? *phwoarrrr* And lol, how funny was Angel tonight... Fred: "But how much cooler would this be if we could score some weed?"
  3. They threatened to arrest you? Did you do anything other than speed? Cause its total bollocks otherwise. Worse they can do is charge you with dangerous driving, and thats a summons to court in the mail. Above is AFAIK. Someone correct me. You were lucky not to get a dangerous driving charge. Thats pretty much a minimum of 3 months suspension. We have it damn lucky here in WA, try reading the eastern state forums for horror stories. 20+km/h = huge fine + many months suspension! (regardless of demerits).
  4. $600 is way too much for the lengths your talking about. Try Danny at Global Motorworks (9258 9566). Good price and excellent workmanship on the aluminium piping they did for me. If you supply the ss, it'd be even cheaper. They're in Welshpool though, so might be a bit far for you. When it comes down to it, a competent exhaust place should be able to weld ss for you at a good price as well. Attached is an example of Global's work.
  5. Not bad. Step 1: Instill fear Step 2: Step 3: Skyline owners buy Geminis. I like it.
  6. No, not OK. You're the one out of line here. SAU isn't a happy-go-fun-luck theme park where you get to talk crap on a podium and have everyone listen to you. Its here for intelligent discussion, and you're not helping improve it. Quite honestly this thread started off well enough, new found joy in a good car, advice on price, etc. Then you mentioned the magic word - insurance. Bad choice, its a touchy subject with a lot of people, mainly because its been discussed to death. Do a forum search! BTW, do you know what buying car before applying for insurance spells? D-U-M-B-A-S-S. Look it up. For any potentional n00bs out there, 3 simple suggestions: - Lurk before you join - Search before you post - Think before you type
  7. Arrrghhh! Is this a troll? We need these questions answered like I need a hole in the head. eriktufa, if you arn't trolling (and don't ask "what is a troll?"), use the fcuking search button. Most of these topics have been discussed within the last 2 weeks!.
  8. Do they want the plenum (upper half) or intake runners (lower half)? I always thought their design bolted onto the intake runners, so there shouldn't be any need for your plenum at all. If its the intake runners they want, why can't they make a plenum that bolts onto your runners? I'd be very hesitant about sending my plenum off in exchange, it'll make going back to stock (for selling time or EPA problems) very difficult.
  9. Nominee for post-without-punctuation award? Looks like he knew something was wrong near the end though, where he threw in a comma instead of a full stop. Santa, my only wish for Christmas is that people would finish primary school level English before buying a Skyline. About the diff. If you haven't replaced oil yet, then definanlty give Redline a go. I know several people with noisy diffs (none of them Nissan), that weren't so noisey after diff oil was replaced for something more slippery. Probably won't fix the problem but it'll make it a lot less noticable. Is it a standard Nissan viscous diff?
  10. Whoever said ricers have bad taste... *cough*
  11. Even then, to measure time in units of planck-mangnitude requires enough energy to create a black hole. So we may never really know the true potential of a Hyundai To keep things on-topic, I'm not racing.
  12. Bugger, isn't it always the case. In future, I'll proof read before putting the smack down Lets let this rest for now. Back to car cleaning!
  13. GTS-t VSPEC, do you know where your friend got his cut'n'shut done or if he had it tested for even flow? I'd be interested in pics (or seeing it in person). I'm in the process of doing something similar, so first hand feedback would be great.
  14. OK, I've been biting my tongue for a while now, but I've had enough. You seem quite oblivious of this fact, but a web browser will AUTO WORD WRAP POSTS! Yes, its amazing, isn't it? Ever wondered why everyone elses posts take up 12+ words a line while yours only take up 35 characters? Its because they aren't pressing enter when they run out of room in the text box. And no, a new line is no subsitute for commas, fullstops and other punctuation. I always thought room temperature IQ was all that's needed to post on forums, but its time to rethink that one. Anyone who thinks I'm being too harsh should consider that well constructed sentences is the only thing seperating us from the teens on fast fours forums or the gits on irc. Written communication is vital to get your point across and poor form reflects on the forum itself. To quote a favourite forum of mine, "All of us who spend any significant time on the Internet know that written communication apparently is at the bottom of most message board posters' priority lists. From horrendous spelling to unrecognizable grammar, people make idiots out of themselves every day... and most don't care."
  15. Look up fitting instructions for part number KCA349. http://www.whiteline.com.au/fittingsheets.htm Heres a direct link to the pdf for slackers (435kB).
  16. Were they set up for all-round grip or straight-line grip? I've said it before in other pineapple threads and I'll say it again, all-round grip is the *only* way to set it up for a street car. Handling is comprised otherwise and I found it downright dangerous at times. Changing over from all-round to straight-line is a simple 30min exercise that you can do before a trip to the drags.
  17. Thats good news. Hopefully the fcuker gets time behind bars. Do you know what else he was charged with? Perhaps this calls for a new soap-on-a-rope fund...
  18. How do we get our hands on Nippon Micro oil filters? Through a specific Nissan service dept?
  19. The BOV doesn't give me too much trouble. Its the throttle body to crossover join that I don't like. The oil filter is only $8 from Nissan
  20. From what I've read, the GT does absorb bumps better than the Clubby but its steering is lighter and doesn't offer as much feel for the road. Which is really saying something considering that even with all the improvements the VY brought to steering, I found the Clubbie to be not as direct or "involving" as your garden variety R33. All of Fords and Holdens recent performance cars have LSDs, btw. I don't think the GT is up to competing with the Clubsport in serious driving. Standard brakes on the GT are 325mm twin pistons vs the Clubbies 330mm twins, which means slightly less braking torque on a heavier car. Upgraded GT brakes ($6k option) are an improvemnt, 355mm Brembos (+ braided lines) vs 343mm 4 pot on the Clubsport R8. I'm sure the GT would make a nice cruiser for an elderly gentleman (or woman). But I don't buy cars to cruise.
  21. If you shorten your stick and don't change the pivot point, all you've accomplished is interior rice. Pure and simple. I feel for your car and the poor fellow who buys it next. Leave ghetto mods for a car more deserved of the privilege.
  22. Except that genuine Nissan filters are cheaper (suprisingly). and presumably made by an oem that has good quality assurance procedures in place. Toyota oil filters are also cheaper than Ryco equivalents. NO_RSPECT, how much for the plugs alone? Cheapest I found for NGK Iridiums was $15.50ea from Auto One Cannington, so sounds like you got a good price. deesh, changing plugs on a stock plenum'd RB25 every oil change would get tedious very, very quickly Damn that cross over pipe.
  23. From Wheels: XR8 Boss 5.4L DOHC V8 1795kg (145kW/tonne) 260kW/5250rpm 500Nm/4250rpm 80-120km/h in 5.1s (3rd gear) 14.5@164km/h SS LS1 5.7L OHV V8 1590kg (148kW/tonne) 235kW/5200rpm 465Nm/4000rpm 80-120km/h in 4.7s (3rd gear) 14.5@162km/h FPV GT Boss 5.4L DOHC V8 1825kg (159kW/tonne) 290kW/5500rpm 520Nm/4500rpm 80-120km/h in 4.2s (3rd gear) 14.2@164km/h HSV Clubsport LS1 5.7L OHV V8 1696kg (153kW/tonne) 260kW/5600rpm 475Nm/4000rpm 80-120km/h in 4.3s (3rd gear) 14.2@163km/h Check out the weight on the GT  Sure, its got 290kW, but it needs every last one of them to keep pace with the similar priced, lower powered HSV. Don't know how they compare handling wise, but I can't imagine that kind of wieght doing it any favours. I was excited about the Fords new performance cars - until the weight issue reared its ugly head. Although newer models tend to put on weight, it needn't be that way at all. Look at the 350Z, at 1440kg its a clean 50kg less than the 300zx. (14.5@159km/h for the 350z if anyones interested).
  24. Works Auto, I find it cute that a small group of anti-RB25 biggots have popped up in order defend the already well respected RB20 whenever its ability is questioned, but honestly, we're all on the same team here. Go Nissan! BTW, rb25 with cooler + exh + boost = check my sig (also at barries dyno)
  25. Fixable? Like, not making your cds not skip fix or like making it handle half decently fix? The only fix there is (IMHO), is to get the centre of wheel to guard clearance back upto 345mm (the lowest a 25t should go without coilovers). My 19yro sis is having a giggle over this. She likes lowered cars too, but she knows the line where "cool" crosses over to rice. Don't take this to heart, afterall, I'm not known as the Perth Rice Nazi for no reason
