  1. I don't know whose workshop it is or who owns the R30 in the background. Are you sure mounting the tb's on front will clear accesories around it? Is there enuf space on the forward face to fit 2 tb's one above the other? I'm hesitant to modify the factory plenum to feed from the front because its been designed to disperse air coming from the passenger side. We don't really know how much air is going to each cyliner after the factory plenum has been hacked, cylinder 5 & 6 may end up running lean in low pressure conditions. Maybe a flow test is before and after is needed just to be sure.
  2. Workmanship looks good.
  3. The 3rd option is probably the way to go, if you really want twin throttles. Myself, i'd be looking towards a custom forward facing upper manifold. Pics of a twin throttle intake someone made for a rb25det.
  4. Sorry to hear that RadiuM. Hope it comes back together better than new.
  5. Don't worry Ken, I'll leave that sort of action upto the master, pva  Strictly grip driving for me on Sunday.
  6. "At the first bend, I had the clear sensation that Tazio had taken it badly and that we would end up in the ditch; I felt myself stiffen as I waited for the crunch. Instead, we found ourselves on the next straight with the car in a perfect position. I looked at him, his rugged face was calm, just as it always was, and certainly not the face of someone who had just escaped a hair-raising spin. I had the same sensation at the second bend. By the fourth or fifth bend I began to understand; in the meantime, I had noticed that through the entire bend Tazio did not lift his foot from the accelerator, and that, in fact, it was flat on the floor. As bend followed bend, I discovered his secret. Nuvolari entered the bend somewhat earlier than my driver's instinct would have told me to. But he went into the bend in an unusual way: with one movement he aimed the nose of the car at the inside edge, just where the curve itself started. His foot was flat down, and he had obviously changed down to the right gear before going through this fearsome rigmarole. In this way he put the car into a four-wheel drift, making the most of the thrust of the centrifugal force and keeping it on the road with the traction of the driving wheels. Throughout the bend the car shaved the inside edge, and when the bend turned into the straight the car was in the normal position for accelerating down it, with no need for any corrections." 7. Call me childish, but I know they love it when we do that I'm kinda upset about that guy who stole a speed camera. Means they'll increase security, so my plan to simultaneously attack all metro cameras is going to need twice as much work to succeed.
  8. Exceeding the maximum allowed speed by 66kph. I dislike multinovas, i really do. Pva_Glue, good luck with that.
  9. Not the engine itself but its bolt ons. I'd like to see how far you can push the stock T25g.
  10. Doesn't really show how heavy Z's are, just shows how much power you make. What we're impressed with here isn't out right ET, but how little it takes to reach that. I've done a little searching and seems it isn't uncommon for a stock turboed, stock injectored, stock intercooled Z's to run mid 12s (or less). I guess being able to run over 1.1bar without the exhaust wheel flying off helps I think we all know what the limits of stock sr20 bolt ons are in comparison...
  11. What the fruit!! I have a tree fity dollar-6 point loss waiting to be paid and you guys get to sweep 'em under the rug! I'm a code monkey to be. Currently a student/bum. john, /me puts hand up
  12. But they've got something for everybody - from Sunday morning nostalgia to Saturday afternoon reggae. I'm a 3-5pm weekday arvo and 9-midnite saturday person myself. Support local non-crap radio! The only non-rice sticker your 'line can proudly wear
  13. Yeah, Barrie is my current fav. Just too bad he doesn't do ROM programming.
  14. cool. getting lumpy to do it? (is there even anyone else in perth with the skillz?)
  15. 1.9 60'... do Queensland tracks run down the side of a hill or something? Reminds me of a (really old) joke: A blonde and a brunette jump off a cliff. Who hits the ground first? The brunette. Blonde had to stop and ask for directions. No, i'm not sure how thats relevant to Z's vs 'lines either... perhaps the 'line is the blonde?
  16. I remember that HPI article, I think they said most of the power gains came from the ecu remap and they weren't really sure how much the afm's by themselves would do. No real need to use it on a 25t unless you're running out of tuning resolution on the current afm. Both are 80mm. S-AFC wouldn't be able to modify the afm signal anyhow, you'd need a rom daughterboard or powerfc. What mods have you done and what kind of power are you chasing?
  17. Err no, I'm afraid all you'll learn from a wrecks is how to understeer into poles. But go ahead, better you crank up their insurance premiums than ours.
  18. I know what you mean... stock 33 wheels look like shyte unless they're covered in brake dust kor_gtr32, its not the car that belongs to rays, its the brand of the wheels: Rays Volk Racing TE37
  19. Holy crap... how did you put the power down to get those et's? Those 60' times are impressive, and terminal speed shows your definanlty making the power. Lets say, for arguments sake, that its all in the 60' (i ran 2.3 60' vs your 2.0), how does the Z do it? I'm guessing its a combination of: - auto transmission - Z's weight distribution = Z's outright weight (better traction) - tyre contact patch (i only ran 225s) The suspension is virtually identical between Z's and 'lines, apart from ride height. I just can't see what gives them the upper hand. Anyone know? edit: whoops, looked at wrong mph reading
  20. Wow, hadn't noticed that splitter on r32s before. Had a look around and here are pics of them on GTRs: http://www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/skyline...ics/r32no73.jpg http://www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/skyline...pics/r32no4.jpg Looks like R33s GTRs don't have them stock: http://www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/skyline...ics/r33no81.jpg But some race GTRs use them: http://www.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/skyline...ics/r33no71.jpg Adds 400hp hey... put me down for one
  21. err, i'm a little confused. Are there more bits to the splitter under the bonnet to direct air around or is that it? I haven't seen one before but I'm guessing that it has a practical use. If its for show, just reply with the word "rice".
  22. Any pics of this? I can't think of what goes above the grill and on the bonet.
  23. This wouldn't be a certain 93 Gunmetal Grey, would it? Yeah, it still enjoys playing with wrexs
  24. hippy, if your insured, let insurance pay for new parts, then ask them if you can use the 2k (that they were going to spend anyway) to buy a more effecient aftermarket 'cooler. Actually, it might be better to ask repairer after insurnace pays them, since they're the ones buying the parts. I've asked about this in the past and they didn't have a problem with it. Hope your insured
  25. Personally, I'd never reconmend off the shelf tuning fixes to anyone. Well, not to friends anway. Well, no. It wouldn't I suppose. Although any tuner with half a clue would leave the factory ecu in place to do its job and wire up the aftermarket ecu to soley take care of fuel and ignition timing. All this doesn't matter though, I don't want to promote aftermarket ecus. I think what you intended to say in you first post is that factory ecus are more than capable if they are suitably tuned. If this is so, I wholey agree. As revealed to me recently (by rev210), factory maps have had a huge number of hours spent on them spent perfecting low rpm drivability, and thats the sort of thing that just can't be replicated privately. I can't help you find a jza80 tuner (this is a skyline forum, afterall), but I do know the 2JZ factory ecu can be mapped outside of Japan. A quick Google revealed http://jcp.excitewebpages.com/main.php3?pr...primNavIndex=0& who sell daughter boards for jza80's. They don't specify on the web page, but I assume they can custom tune for each car. What I'm trying to say is, tuning jap cars can be done properly outside of Japan and comments like "i wouldnt trust anyone in aust to do it" just aren't fashionable any more.
