But tartan would look HOT on a 'line. Make it the ultimate pimp mobile.:Pimp2: :Pimp:

Yeah, anyone know where we can get a hold of 2nd hand drag slicks? Not circuit racing slicks, their stiff side walls would be useless for drag racing.

I did a quick search on SDU and found Buffy ran a best ET of 13.71@169kph, although highest TS was 13.9@175kph. Both those runs had a 60' of 2.279. These numbers are from the orginal drag meet thread, where Chris ran Buffy for the last time (AFAIK). Its interesting reading through the archives and seeing Buffys quoted ET get lower and lower as the date gets further from the drag meet Buffy had: HKS Intercooler 3" exhaust 13psi boost Apexi Power FC. I'm not sure I qualify for stock turbo/stock ic/stock ecu title, as the s-afc could be counted as a piggyback device. I'll gladly take the stock turbo/stock ic title tho And I'll be back for the wed night drags with a fmic to battle for Buffys title too

So I take it the blitz element is in a stock unmodified airbox? Or have you hacked the airbox to include a cold air intake? The stock airbox is an unbelievably huge restriction in R33 GTS25ts, the GTR design is much better.

I know what you're thinking, and no, its not Myaree Dyno Got it tuned at Barrys Dyno. adam 32, no need to prove anything, the terminal speed shows the true potential of the car. Besides, 12psi will make you harder to catch at the next cruise rob77, the factory tune on the r33 ecu is junk. Put fuel control at the top of your list, you won't be sorry.

Yeah, that yellow 911 turbo was very nice. Didn't it have an exhaust at least? 12.02 is insanley quick for a stock car. My mods are in my sig. BPU (Basic Performance Upgrades) - 3" turbo back exhaust and K&N pod 5 puck semi ceramic clutch with hd pressure plate - stock flywheel (just waiting for an excuse) 1st gen s-afc - tuned for advanced igniton timing, a touch of boost (10psi) and 98RON Not engine related but important for drag, a rear subframe lock kit. Was running 27psi in rear wheels, as opposed to the 36psi I normaly run. Also splashed cold water over air filter and intercooler before every run, although it didn't seem to do a damn thing

Boostzor - JZA70 InitialD - R33 Early on, all I could muster was a bunch 14.0 - 14.5 passes depending on the launch - bogged (low 14) or axel tramp (14.5). Tried a different launch technique for my last pass and got a 13.8 @ 103mph, which I'm fairly happy with. My best 60' of 2.378 came from that run, so still room for improvement. I think Boostzor cranked a mid 14 and InitialD did a 14 flat. How about everyone else?

Wow. The eastern states sucks for speeding penalties. In WA, 40-60kmh over the limit is $350 and 6pts, no suspension. 60kmh+ over the limit gets you a personal visit from the local police but still only $350 and 6pts! (unless it was a dangerous time or palce).

Called up Westshock this morning and reserved the last set of kca349 they had. Picked it up this afternoon and looks like word is getting around, cause someone else wanted a set after I'd reserved. Organized for a pair of yoko A539 to be fitted on Friday. They really should be going on the front, but I may put them on the back for couple of days so I can loose the top skin at the drags. So, looks like I definantly will be going. :burnout: KILLER- T, good to hear your able to run. Lets hope the traction gods are smiling on you

I'll be there to spectate, for sure. If I can get new rubber and the kca349 kit before Sunday, then I'll run as well. 2 thumbs up for the s-afc. Sorting out af ratios and confusing the ecu into not knocking back timing did wonders for me. 253rwhp at Barrys dyno. Come down on Sunday, it should be great. Launching at the track is much like launching on the street - hold revs, side step clutch at 2nd orange light and hold on for the ride.
-
eh? I have crazee mad l33t skillz! Just no tools. lol  At least I'm not a Captain Bolt Stripper, eh Boozstor :uh-huh: I'll see if theres any stock of KCA349 in Perth, expect a call from me If there is
-
Nah, not me. I have small sticker on rear window, like Boostzor said.
-
Jesus Joe, that was weeks ago... they may have them still but if they don't, plenty of other tyre joints sell 2nd hand rubber. Ring around. Don't you think you should replace them soon? If nothing, it'll save you from a yellow sticker and a $75 fine.

I saw a security git standing around with one near manning rd entrance when I went in on Friday morning. Last heard, they rented this equipment out from time to time. Seems like they've bought one to keep, given the number or apperances of the laser radar recently. What I'd really like to do, is speed past them (not hard with a 30kmh limit) and not stop when they motion you to. A chase with the 4 cab security ute or dinky softroader would make my day

New edition of Fast Fours - Great Read

Well, those comments are my opinion and I think this forum is fairly open to ppl expressing them. What I typed is better than what I'm thinking in RealLife - that would be closer to defamation, and not fit to print. In any case, who doesn't like schoolgirls : -

BY BY, it wasn't intended as a personal hit to you. I understand you like the theme he has chosen, and indeed, minus the stickers it would look the part. I must congratulate you on using an authentic CF bonnet, that fact alone separates you from common attention seekers like our friend here. As far as being shallow, I believe his "looks from school kids" comment is far more shallow than anything I've said (or ever will say). And yes, it is a shame I wasted my $6.95. -
I love how Sony declare a "standard" and then assume its an industry standard. Besides, the MPEG2 compression used on MicroMV is inferior to DV compression, especially when you want to edit and re-package.
-
MicroMV? As in Sponys proprietary DV format? Why didn't you use a MiniDV cam, like real men do

Well, I went out and bought this issue (after a four year hiatus) on the reconmendations of this thread. I didn't hold much hope for this type of magazine, all I expected was a half decent article on R33 turbo upgrades - they couldn't even provide that much. About "NGH", the white R33 from Perth, vinyl carbon fibre-look... Power FC and S-AFC... Think he knows how to spell R-I-C-E? A couple of classic quotes from the owner: and I feel embarrased for this guy. The only sign of improvement in this magazine, is that they've stopped draping models over cars (a poor excuse to keep things on topic) and given them a page of they're own. With any luck, it'll be at least another four years before I open the pages of this type of magazine again. -
Well, my problem is definantly rear wheel bearing related. Mechanic said that rear wheel bearings cannot be replaced as something in the hub is bent if they start acting up (I probably got the explanation wrong). So no, Maxima parts are going to be no use for rear wheel bearings. From what I understand, rear wheel bearings were never meant to be a servicable part and they only start making noise after a hard impact. He also said that it won't affect handling (as its a rear wheel) and that theres no reason to fix it... as long as I can live with the bloody drone! So yeah, I get to save some money and leave it as it is, but will be on the lookout for a 2nd hand hub (at the right price) all the same.
-
Yeah, that sounds like what mine is doing - a pulsating drone that varies with speed. I find that its a lot more noticable with the windows up and driving on smooth roads, which is pretty much due to lower background noise. I'm having it looked at on Wednesday, so I'll be able to get back with whether its the bearings or if I busted a driveshaft. red900ss, I'll find out on Wednesday about Maxima bearings being used as replacements. Sorry about hijacking the thread, thejackal!
-
I'm not sure what kind of sound stuffed bearings make. The noise mine makes increases with speed and sounds like really bad tire drone (but isn't). At 40kmh its barely audible, it gets really noticable at 80kmh+. This sound like bearings to anyone? It all started after the rear right wheel had an unfortunate meeting with a curb, so could be driveshaft or bearings.
-
I may have to replace rear wheel bearings. Are they a servicable part or is it easier to find a new hub?
-
Boostzor, i don't think ATESSA likes having different sized tires front and rear, it wants identical widths all the way around. I just found out today that I need new tires as well (rears). Tire place I was at (Ian Diffen Canning Vale) had 2nd hand tires to suit out rims for $35 each. Might want to try that pva, if half tread is all you need.
