25GTT, 240rwhp... get fuel control, did you?
-
R34, that story made my day. Thanks for that
-
Boostzor, lol. 300ZXs and Supras... all much of a muchness, arn't they. Both not built to be hanging their ass out at every corner.

Yes, yes, interesting night. Suprised no one has mentioned Rhinos new car. Is it still a secret, Rhino? Ah well, I'll give em a clue. Yes, its a Nissan and yes, its a tad quicker than the R31 RB20LagWagon, that thing is insane! Sleeper award, for sure. Wonder what our run would have been like if had both got traction, instead of spinning through the first 2 gears like we did. Read in another thread that it ran a 13.8, thats a good job. Well, the night was going good until Boostzor decied to let his lead foot out. I stayed back and gave him a lift after the tow. Cops came by to have a look see. Was the usual, "have you been drinking" type of questions, nothing about import cruises or dangerous driving. Did you guys end up running the rest of the map and finishing at Carousel?

Nengun, its good to see you active in the forums. I was genuinley interested in doing buisness with you, so its too bad that email problems got in the way. Already found what I was looking for (as the start of the thread mentions), so maybe next time. Noticed that a few other people have had difficulty in emailing you, and I myself sent off 2-3 with no replies. Perhaps it would be a good idea to find a more stable email provider? And optional text menus on the web site would be greatly appreciated. Navigation is a nightmare in anything but IE. -
Nice work. Piping is a little different, which is interesting. What does the crankcase breather line go to?
-
I thought it was odd that some guy was lying on your boot, so I called JoJo so see if it was one of your friends or not. Didn't want to run out there and start abusing someone that you knew. Plus, since I was only dropping my sis off, I was in slippers Not the ultimate in abusing apperal.

God bless K9 units. /me does salute. I hope the bizatches were savagely mauled beyond recongniztion. Damn, dirty, stinking theives!
-
My condolences b005t. Been through this myself, best you can hope for is a fatal accident (involving the crim and not innocents) or a insuracnce write off. Its frustrating being stuck with a car thats repairable but unwanted.

Today Tonight lol. Rember everyone, if anyone claiming to be an amateur film crew approaches you and asks for burnouts or high speed runs, go straight to your car and drive very, very far away. Hate those shows, I do.

Saturday eh, this is going to be insane. I'll be there, for sure edit: Saturday, not Sunday. doh!

Nice buy! Judging by the goodies list, I'd say you're well and truly into Stage 1 already

Were we chasing a motorbike? I thought hooning off was standard freeway practice There wasn't a whole lot of action this cruise, as was to be expected since it was pouring down for duration of the cruise. We are pleased to report however, that security at Carousel is indeed doing a valiant effort on protecting the public against the henious crime of double parking. Who knows how many inocent people could have been INJURED or KILLED by pva double parking behind other Skylines. Go security, Go! RadiuM, impressed with the number of goodies paulgts-t got with his R33. be interesting to see how it goes once the 5000rpm missfire is fixed. I propose another rule: We leave at exactly the time specified (no delays) and any late comers can meet up on route or at a regrouping point. I didn't mind waiting 15mins for the white R34 gtt to turn up, but I was a bit miffed that he didn't want to join the cruise. Ah well, can't blame him, seeing as the weather was what it was.

Mark me down. Usual disclaimer applys of course - I'm won't be going if its raining. Heres hoping for dry whether. /me crosses fingers

gun metal grey with SDU sticker spotted at barrys dyno tune

Address for Nenguns website is http://www.nengun.siteblast.com/ If you happen to be using Opera under Linux, the front page will give you no end of trouble (nice design Nengun, not!), use this address instead http://www.nengun.siteblast.com/courses.as...id=57739&page=1 I haven't bought from either taka or nengun. I've tried to contact nengun many times but have never recieved a reply (email or sdu pm). A lot of ppl have used taka, they seem reliable enuf. Skyzers bought his s-afc from taka, have anything to add Skyzer? -

Running around 10psi boost, measured at plenum. Stock intercooler, so the turbo is putting out a lot more boost just to get over the backpressure caused by the (crap) factory cooler. Blue screen s-afcs cane be picked up for $450 2nd hand or not much more new if you buy direct from japan (nengun or taka, ~$550?). I'm using a 5 knob s-afc which does the same job (5 load points instead of 8), without the fancy display and a much lower price tag. And to everyone with the blue screen model, I do like the fancy display, its just that I like a lower price better. Took it for a test drive today and the extra 40hp certainly is nice. Very nice indeed :-) If you're thinking of fuel control, I'd strongly reconmend you visit lumpy. Remapping the r32 ecu has much better potential than a s-afc. Hows the replacement engine looking? -

Barry does a lot of work on import cars for dealers around Perth. He really knows his stuff (about Nissans at least) and has a lot of diagnostic equipment for OE sensors. Does excellent tuning work and at a very reasonable rate. Walked in with 209rwhp and left with 253rwhp (and no mid range flat spot!) after install of 1st generation s-afc. I'm fairly happy -

Yeah, it was me. We saw a mighty fine R32 there but wasn't sure if it was yours or not. Bit hard to remeber what yours looked like since I've only seen it at night... I didn't realize you had that big a rear spoiler. I was having a s-afc installed and tuned, what kind of work was Barry doing on yours? -
I didn't realize Mobil1 0w/40 was that expensive. Royal Purple 5w/x is also around $16 a quart (~1 litre). Oil filters... I always use genuine parts instead of the Ryco equivalent. When it comes down to it, Nissan is interested in making their engines last, while Ryco is interested in profit. Plus, the fact that genuine oil filters are cheaper doesn't hurt For reference in Perth, Royal Purple is sold by Lance Distributors (9458 2239) and Red Line is distributed by Red Line Oils (9446 4455).

Yeah, SJ/CF is the current standard. SJ is expected to increase to SK in the future but the diesel rating, CF is expected to stay the same for some time. For more info: http://www.salemboysauto.com/faqs/faq-29.htm Recently, I've been hunting around to find the reconmended oil type for Skylines. Mobil Japan suggests 5w50 or 0w40 for all 2.5L-3.0L multicam turbo engines. (I think... I can't read Japanese ). Heres a pic for reference: http://www.mobil.co.jp/club_mobil_1/lineup/lineup.html 0w40 is probably only meant for the colder parts of Japan, but Mobil Australia also suggests 0w40 for the R32 GTR (the only Skyline on their list as it was locally delivered). Mobil Aus GTR sheet: http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/mobil_au/d...ke=36&Model=820 I'm going to hazard a guess and say, for all turbo twincam RB's, 0w40 during winter (in cold areas) and 5w50 otherwise.

Localy made front facing plenum for a RB - thoughts?
Gradenko replied to Gradenko's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks meggala, had a bit of a hunt around SDU and found a pic of dans plenum. Still has right angle corners but its a fair bit curvier than one for sale. Wonder what the insides are like? Maybe dan dooorift could let us know... Looks good tho, and has factory idle control bolted up too. Heres a link, http://www.geocities.com/medved_skyline/car/ click on Dcp_0005.jpg. -

Oh, haven't got one yet. You'll know when I do, I'll be the git running around with an ear-to-ear grin  Besides, can't get one without a bit of fuel control, the stock ecu would get pretty confused with something like that bolted on. Hell, the stock ecu is pretty confused even on a stock car. Cutting the end off the stock plenum is one way to go, but I don't think its going to be healthy for anyone. Factory plenum is designed from the ground up to distribute airflow evenly between the cylinders with air entering from the center. Its not going to do its job too well (if at all) when the entry point is changed like that. But I think you were jking, so no problems -
Does this look the part? http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...30&pagenumber=1 Fairly cheap and the build quality looks good. Not sure about the box shape design though, shouldn't these things taper back so that air speed increases towards the last couple of cylinders (furthest from throttle body)? Not sure about everyday driveability with it either. So, who wants to be the guinnea pig and get one first?
