  1. streamer, if you go to "user cp" -> "edit options", you can tell the forum to send you email notifications for private messages.
  2. We had a bizzare incident on the way home. The evoVI from the drags sidels upto this worked ute on the freeway, brakes so they're even, changes into 4th, looks for confirmantion and they're off. I leave it in forth and follow till my limiter tells me not to. Deesh in a s15 behind me does the same. A couple of kays later (everyone one doing the speed limit), the evo pulls over onto the shoulder for the no real reason. A short while later, a spot opens up in the right lane next to the ute, so I decide to give it run. Indicate, change lanes, pull even, brake, look in the rear view mirror before I'm about to change into 3rd and what'dya know, a VY. A marked VY. Roof bar and all, right behind me. So I sit in fear waiting for the lights to come on, but instead, the cop pulls into my old spot behind the ute and pulls the ute over. Bizzare! The cop must have seen the evo and ute race. And we think the evo must have seen the cop and pulled over early. I'm just not sure how I got out of it alive
  3. Nice time? I didn't think so. Absolutely horrid out there tonight. I can't be ****ed wasting my time on a track that is more slippery than everyday roads. My best time was 13.7 @ 105mph (170kph), 60' 2.344. I think dan the man ran a best of 13.9 @ 106mph last I spoke to him. Rob77 was having problems out there too. Did you end up with a 13.xx eventually, rob? KILLER-T made a galant effort (considering the track) with a 13.4 @ 110mph. Every other skyline there was firmly stuck in 14's. Fastest SAU member there was Cam with a 12.7.... on his 750cc crotch rocket
  4. RON-15H, the packaging on the ebay ones say both "White" and "Blu", and also "55w" and "100w". I have no idea what they are selling. I bought Philips VisionPlus for around $30 a pair. Our SuperCheap doesn't carry them but you can find Philips stuff at Conventry's. Every auto electrician I've been to has them.
  5. The very best H1 55w bulbs you can get are the Philips VisionPlus, Osram Silverstar or Narva Plus 50. All are xenon and halogen filled bulbs (note, not the same as a Xenon HID system) and put out 50% more light while staying the same, legal, wattage. They don't have a blue tinge to them, more like a briliant white. Repco may not stock them but you should be able to find them at most auto electricians. The problem with the "blue" look, even with legal bulbs, is that the coating applied to bulb invariably reduces visible light output. Head to head, the xenon halogen bulbs above are a better product (more light) and without the wank factor.
  6. I'll be there. Just spent 30min changing the diff cradle bushes set up from all-round to max traction. Hope the track isn't too slippery.
  7. Your car ready then, Hicks? Going to the 'plex tomorrow with us?
  8. Demon, I find it hard to believe you saw any difference in the low end with a smaller exhaust. We drive turbo cars, so the very best exhaust system we can have is no exhaust (least back pressure). The only possible reason there would be a power loss going bigger is if the factory ecu over fueled when it sensed extra air flow. Go as big as you can stand hearing.
  9. Roy, I had thought about doing a custom 6-throttle setup... until I ran the numbers. 6 x 48mm DCOE TB's: $1,770.00 Fabricating a plenum: $800-1200 Airflow distribution tests: $$$ (modified exh manifold for wideband O2 sensors, results used to redevelop plenum) Even if you choose to even out airflow distribution problems with an aftermarket ecu, you're still looking at a substantial outaly. Almost cheaper to buy a new rb26 head ($1200) and intake manifold from Nissan.
  10. With the talk about speed camera's, have you guys been here http://www.policespeedcameras.info/ ? Go there and join the mailing list. They send an email every night with the locations of all multinovas in Perth for the following day. Its gold! I knew about both those cameras in como/sth perth boostzor
  11. B-Man, that kind of design would require a completly new upper plenum, which blows out the budget somewhat. While bellmouths will help to increase flow potential of idividual runners, they would do nothing for flow distribution. But with a fresh start, an upper plenum could be designed and tested for better distribution. Spending that kind of money would only be worthwhile above 450hp.
  12. Thats soft vspec. You know you want to give it a run. Surely nothing that bad can go wrong. And if it does, you can always tow it to PAS
  13. Hey, GTS-t VSPEC, still coming to the drags this wed for a run? I'm going down with a friend in a s13 and boostzor.
  14. A followup to let you know I spoke to the auto electrician and he said that a bosch sensor with a Nissan plug on it probably does exist, but its likely it won't be as cheap as the EL one just because of the volume Ford ones made in. The EL one is installed in my R33 and running like a champ. The stumbling and flat spots I was getting at part throttle after a cold sart is gone. The light misfire (pops) at certain points when lifting off the throttle at 2-4k rpm is gone. And I've still got better fuel economy to look forward to. Heres an interesting link, specifically this part about our O2 sensors: http://www.gt-skyline.net/maintenance/oxyg...gen_sensor.html . The important part is that Nissan recommends changing it at 40k km intervals. Every mechanic I've been to has said my O2 sensor was fine on basis of 1) the ecu diagnostic didn't complain. 2) a voltmeter responds when hooked up. Both ways of testing are incorrect! My old O2 sensor was still operating when I pulled it out, but it's response time was so slow it was as good as dead. It goes without saying that buying a second hand O2 sensor is not a good idea.
  15. That was what I was thinking. If its a manual, sounds like kr1sh has a slipping clutch. But a slipping clutch is pretty damn obvious, unless the only hint kr1sh can take is the hint of cherry in cherry coke . kr1sh, threads about car problems should be posted in the Maintenance forum, not General Discussion.
  16. Boostzor, check your pm
  17. GTS-t VSPEC, ballbearing garrett core? I vaguely remember adiwin bought it second hand with a mainfold and wastegate, yeah? did grant originally sell that too?
  18. GTS-t VSPEC, just wanted to know what they are (housings, trims) , internal or external gate and power capabilities. sexzila, always nice seeing the X303 though
  19. Don't get it polished, I reckon the flat grey look better. Yeah, the plenum mod is working out well. Hopefully the O2 sensor will sort out the cold stumbling problem I'm having. Do you know much about these turbo's that Grant can get from the US (the one Hicks is getting installed)?
  20. Hey there. Watching Stargate too?
  21. cya
  22. GTS-t VSPEC, yeah, its the same place boostzor took his to. But they're my dads mates and he's offered to pay, so i may as well i've got a couple of Q's about the wolf. boost control, do you buy a seperate solenoid for the wolf to control? does boost control use one of the wolf's spare outputs?
  23. Nizmo, called them an hour ago and they said "we'll call you back". Yeah right, if i had a dollar every time a mechanic's told me they'd call me back and didn't, well, I'd have a lot of dollars.
  24. Hey everyone. Freak, my car's been at the auto electrics for whole day and they still haven't changed the a/c belt and replaced the 02 sensor. They better be done before closing time!
  25. rev210, I believe the 120 degree bend is similar to BOOSTMEISTER's piping route. (taken from this thread.)
