Hello Everyone, For the moment I am a proud owner of 2 Skylines ;-). An R34 GTT in Suva and a 2006 V36, 350GT in Wellington. I am currently in Wellington. I think I might have a speed guage issue. Any recommendations for a good workshop in Wellington who can take a look at it? Cheers

Turbine Sensor Issue On My R34 Gtt
sarnil replied to sarnil's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
No comments? Anyone? -
Hi Fellas, Whilst driving today I noticed the A/T light come on for the first time. The car also seems to be stuck in the 3rd and 4th gear when the light comes. I've determined the fault code to be 10 i.e. Turbine Sensor. Has anyone else had similar issue? Does it mean that the sensor is buggered? This issue occurred for the first time after the car had been serviced replacing the oil filter and fuel filter earlier in the day. After noticing that my boost guage wasn't working I saw that the hose connecting to it had perished due to brittleness. I've replaced that. Am wondering if any of these could have caused the Turbine Sensor issue. Regards, Sarnil

Hi Guys, I urgently need to buy the wiring loom for my R43 GTT. The part number I understand is 24079Q. Attached are a couple of pictures of the loom. If you have it or know somewhere where I can get it from, please do let me know.

Hello there. Did you ever figure out what problem was?
-
Some a***hole broke my Rear Passenger Side Door Window. Does anyone have or know where (apart from a Nissan dealer) I can get one of these.
-
Unfortunately not and I don't have access to any dB measuring device. It isn't that loud though. I have another R34GTT in town with some other brand of exhaust which is definitely louder then mine.
-
I have N1 Evo...and it sounds brilliant. I have no complaints about it. I am not sure what you mean by 'drone', but the first weekend I had the car, I continuously heard the sound of the exhaust all weekend. Now I am used to it and occasionally will switch off the stereo just to enjoy the amplified sounds of the RB25DET.

Hi SkylineCouple, Thanks for the offer. I am going to see Fulcrum/Superpro local distributor tomorrow. I'll see if they can get that bushings for me. If not, I'll get in touch with you.
-
What would the advantages of getting an adjustable arm be?
-
Hello, Can anyone tell me what the name of the busted bushing in the attached picture is? Is it something I can replace with bushings from Superpro or Whiteline?

Hello there, I am looking to buy a full set of all bushings for my R34GTT 4 Door - 1998.

Timing Belt And Sparks Changed - Now The Car Won't Start

I don't know if they're forged. I doubt it, though. -
Timing Belt And Sparks Changed - Now The Car Won't Start
sarnil replied to sarnil's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Last night I let the engine warm up for about 10 minutes and in that time the sound completely vanished. I drove it for a while and the sound remained inaudible (hopefully gone). This morning I started the engine and after a couple of minutes the sound was gone again. For now then I'll put it down to the engine not having started in the previous 3 weeks. Hopefully in the next few cold starts, it'll be completely gone. -
Timing Belt And Sparks Changed - Now The Car Won't Start

To be honest, I looked up the NGK T7340T-08 plugs and it had only been recommended for the current models of skylines in Japan. The current models are running some VQ series engine I think. I am pretty sure they were the culprits, cause with the new plugs it took one look and tweak of the CAS to get it started. In any case, I will examine the tensioners and belts one more time just to be sure. -

Why would it start doing that? -
Timing Belt And Sparks Changed - Now The Car Won't Start
sarnil replied to sarnil's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I reckon it was the sparks. We changed the sparks to NGK BKR6EIX-11 and after a couple adjustments to the crank angle sensor, we managed to breathe life into the beast. Now it starts up fine and drives without hesitation, but what I've noticed with my "sharp as a dog's" ear, is a slight clicking sound. Revving the engine up, the frequency of the clicks increases and vice-versa. Any hints on this one, guys? This sound wasn't there before. -
Timing Belt And Sparks Changed - Now The Car Won't Start

We adjusted that a few times without luck. Because we had marked all angles with tiny markings before we started the work, we connected everything back the same. Still nothing. -
Timing Belt And Sparks Changed - Now The Car Won't Start

Yep. Infact, the first time around when all was connected, the car started up and after about 4 seconds, it died and wouldn't start again. We re-did the timing belt, but no luck. -
Hello Everyone, Yesterday, we worked on changing the timing belt and spark plugs. Now the damn thing won't start. I am guessing it's because of the spark plugs. My car: 1998 R34GTT - RB25DET (NEO). The plugs that we're previously installed in the car were NGK PFR6G-11 and we replaced them with NGK T7340T-08. Has anyone used this plug before? I am not sure if they are the right ones. Tonight we're going to change the plugs back to the old working ones which will confirm whether the new plugs are the culprits. My local NGK dealer reckons NGK BKR6EP-11 is the way to go. What do you guys think?
-
The new O2 Sensor has made no difference to performance or the fuel efficiency of the car. Can't say if it was a waste of money, but it certainly didn't achieve what I expected.

Hi Howie, The VIN number is RB25106146 Edit: the above is actually the engine number. The VIN # starts with ER34*****
-
Thanks Howie, The last filter I used was the smaller version, but I had sent from Japan. It wasn't Nissan Genuine, but of the PITWORK brand (which I think is another Nissan brand). Mine is a 1998 model, probably part of the earliest batches of R34 models.

Hi Fellas, I was wondering if anyone's had experience using oil filters other then Nissan genuine ones on their RB25DET NEO engines. Can filters used on Cefiro's, Primera's or other Nissan cars fit on the engine?
-
It was genuine Nissan one. I gave them my engine and VIN numbers and they were able to grab the genuine parts for me.
