  1. Congrats on the Audi, nice car. Going off that link you provided earlier stage 1+ (tune and pulley kit) Revo would be awesome. That's the way I'd go, 450hp and 610nm would be an animal! Revo is one of the biggest VAG tuning companies. I was new to it all 18 months ago when I got MK7R and ended up going APR tune, quite amazing the gains off tune alone!
  2. Only interested in a sedan? Why not look at new golf R? would get it for 55-60, stage 1 tune and 283kw, 523nm 3.8 0-100 times. Then only uses 8L 100km too.
  3. I would guess that in a normal day shift there would be about 6-8 tmu cars out and about and in the same area only about double that amount of General duties police. All of those TMU would be patrolling, performing traffic duties whereas 3/4 of the General duties would be tied up at jobs. On Night shift including weekends we only have 2 police response cars and one patrol sergeant to cover entire PSA with 200,000 residents! How can we patrol, respond to jobs, even keep ourselves safe at dangerous jobs without b/up? That's like having 2 single security guards to cover flemington tace track on cup day or same for MCG grand final!
  4. Spot on Dezz! They're about the only one's free not tied up at jobs because all they do is traffic enforcement! And they won't/Don't come up for jobs either! In my area they don;t even attend collisions unless their Sgt directs them! It's pathetic really! Paints police in bad light! See plenty of TMU out and about issuing fines and when you need police all tied up!
  5. It's not that police not interested in catching crooks, it's just no resources available to actively hunt for them and not allowed to pursue stolen car anyway. I would say 90% of time I'm busy with either babysitting psych patient at hospital or dealing with domestic. That's all policing is these days. Then filling out crime reports for all the cars getting broken into, stolen or damaged. I pursue stolen car, it crashes and somebody gets hurt. I will get charged with criminal matters, lose job, lose house and probably go to jail. Crook will get slap on wrist!
  6. Most cars getting stolen these days are expensive Audis from rich suburbs! The crooks have improved their taste from the Holden commodores to imports and high end Audis
  7. I think drug testing is a great thing. Unfortunately it's limited what it can test for. Obviously I won't specify that! Very high percentage of drivers involved in fatal collisions positive to drugs.

    Speeding

Charles, you would be able to travel but you would have to declare that you have a prior criminal conviction. Also will show up on police checks for employment, good luck explaining that to potential employer. Location of offence does matter. Get caught at 150 in middle of nowhere in dry weather, probably not speed dangerous or conduct endangering, but do 100 in 50 zone in rain almost hitting kids at school crossing same speed offence but will have much higher penalty at court.

Andrew, there is no way in hell you will get your speed reduced enough at court to change the 12 month suspension. If you take matter to court you SHOULD get charged with conduct endangering life and speed dangerous. If convicted on those you WILL have a criminal conviction also so I think the choice is obvious. Just take the fine and suspension, you got off very easy. I would have definitely charged you for all offences and impounded your car, IMO this is very slack by the police member.
  10. Police reports for accidents only where injury involved or hit run.
  11. I've worked about 15 extra TAC funded shifts with TMU this year and not one single member has even had a second look at an import to simply pull over. They generally only pull someone over they have found doing something wrong to fine. I can't believe how many stupid drivers there are out there, repeat drink drivers, suspended, disqualified I have almost impounded a car in each of those shifts for one of those or 45k+ over speed limit.
  12. Sean hardy really well known. I have gone up against him before. I also have never heard of this law. Stretch of road without sign in built up area iis default to 50 but otherwise is speed limit of last speed sign affixed until sign to change it. Probably should have charged with speed/manner dangerous but took the lazy/easy option to give TIN, 2 min work compared to 2hrs
  13. If its drink driving matter then Brendan murphy the one to see. Easily the best for that.
  14. I think unregistered just under $700 now. Pretty much stays on par with current registration cost.
  15. Yep, can definitely record and in most cases almost every tmu will have cctv/dash camera and digital voice recording of conversation so goes both ways!
