Licence Suspended - Busted Driving On Suspended Licence.
gdogzgtr replied to r32gtrv-spec's topic in Victoria
nolicense nolife: I think you were very lucky just to be disqualified for 12 months for your offence seeing that 45km/h over is 12 months suspension and you were almost double that. I would expect another 6-12 months suspenion/disqualification for you for driving whilst disqualified. You get caught again and it's automatic Jail sentence. Is that worth the risk to drive to gym? -
I think that marked police car with all the camera's is a joke too. I couldn't imagine it assisting with any files just there to deter/prevent offences. In relation to all the extra police in City they are all working on Leave or R/D as we get 10 hours double time for walking around the city in groups. It's the goverments way of covering for the lack of members. I did pretty much nothing excwpt showing police presence and got huge money for it. This is going until march and there is about 150 extra police each night just walking around. So far I would say it's working as there were only handful of fights in both nights combined compared to hundreds over a normal weekend.

I wprked with a guy in the city Sat Night that gave out 13 EPA notices and I am positive not one would fail the test. He just EPA every car that was louder than stock. What a joke if you ask me.
-
You should have seen how many of us were walking around in City Fri/Sat night. In Swanston Street almost every street corner and will be the same all summer.
-
I am lucky enough to have 10 weeks off starting in 2 days, YAY. I am going to Noosa and Gold coast over XMAS and New Years. Then relax rest of summer back in Melb.

Operation RAID is meant to target Alcohol/Drug affected drivers but all traffic statistics are been examined from every station across the board to see who is working hard in relation to traffic. That's why our bosses are encouraging us so much to issue fines and perform PBT's at every opportunity, to make them look good. There is no target cars as such and it's nothing to do with Hoon driving, just traffic across the board.
-
There is going to be a MASSIVE crack down due to operation RAID. We had a station meeting and our S/SGT has told us basically to fine everyone and do as many PBT's as possible as every stations stats are going to be examined by extremely highly ranked members. So in next few weeks don't expect any warnings to be given.

It's definitely illegal to have different plates. The car I intercepted had both plates the same. I can't say whether or not that is the car.

Good work there. I think a few people missed thier calling and could be Private Investigators.

Obviously everone has the right to no comment. I would advise everyone to get legal advice. If you know how to answer certain questions it's much better to give answer than no comment and no comment to other questions. I was just stating that if somebody no comments to everything it won't always help them. I give out numerous speeding fines following people and measuring their speed off my digital speed display. That's how many speeding fines are issued. I am getting a few contested fines back lately all measured on Laser though but people just don't like losing their Licences. All were 6 month suspenion offences.

Mate, You will definitely still be on Probationary License until they end on Dec 19th. Hope that helps.

I think the off duty member is a complete idiot for doing what he did jumping in front of your car. Fair enough to grab your rego and chase it up at another time. Sounds like you did quite well considering the statements they provided. Did they try to impound your car for the offences? With speaking to a solicitor and giving "No Comment" interview can hinder your defence also. Shows you have no remorse for your actions so if found guilty will get steeper punishment. Also means if you win case police can't have costs awarded agaist them.

I don't have any issues with carbon bonnets. I Canary vehicles with Bald tyres, faulty/broken lights or indicators, faults with seat belts general obvious safety issues. I known that some will find minor obscure things to canary a vehicle. At present I am that busy that I only pull over a car if it's committing an offence or driving erratically. I can't even remember when I last just pulled over an import to check it out and have a chat with owner.

That's quite funny. I obviously bought my GTR myself, I would it if the force bought me one. I have only been on a couple of SAU event's/cruises and have no intention of fining anyone on them. Would expect that if anyone was driving stupidly the rest of the club/moderators etc would pull them into line pretty quickly. Have been working and attended to a number of various car club cruises and not fined anyone to date. Have pulled a couple over that I could have even impounded their cars but stern warnings given and pointed out not to behave that way on cruise at it brings whole club under scutiny. That's because I think car clubs for enthusiasts are good thing and most encourage uholding traffic laws and leaving the spirited driving to the track. Without car clubs and track days it would only make more people race around on our roads. I have been to some club cruises and seen many police act over the top and start hassling everone there which doesn't help anyone. Obviously if someone drives like an idiot they bring the consequences on themselves.

It's not about people not wanting to join. There is well over 2000 people who have completed all stages to join Vicpol and are on a waiting list to get called up to go to Academy. The government won't put in the money to training so thus no recruits and making lack of numbers. I believe that the drug tests don't so heroin but not 100% sure of that. They are very limited in what they show. I have heard that they show Marijuana, Amphetamines and that's about it. I have not worked on drug bus so not fully aware of the testing capabilities but that's what i have heard.
-
Drug tests don't show prescription medication. I have issues with drug driving in that it's only a fine and dermerit points no licence suspenion compaired to alcohol affected and in many cases drug driver's would be impaired more. Also use Drug of dependance is an court appearance offence generally but if you get tested and it shows that you have used drugs and drive it's only a fine. Seems really stupid to me. The incresed police presence in city is good but the government and force command instead of hiring more police are masking the lack of police members by paying members (overtime) from all over the state to work in city on their holidays or rest days to make up the numbers.

The owner might be an idiot driver but if you ask me he is a cool boss. Pulled over the GT3 again tonight and this time it's one of his staff driving. Boss lent him the car to go out on a date. Got to love that in a boss.
-
It was a 996, a bit older than I orgininally thought but it was immaculate making it appear new. Have a new target to track down after yesterday but will keep that under wraps.
-
He was driving whilst suspened. Obviously now i will charge him and take him to court for both the speed and driving whilst suspended.

Well as most of you were aware I was after a Yellow GT3 a while ago. I had no luck in tracking it down and had moved on. But today to my luck I was performing laser duties in same road as I previously got GT3 at high speed in and surprise surprise a bight yellow GT3 with personalised plates goes by at fast speed again. THis time I caught up with him and 35+ km/h over speed limit and suspended driver's licence. Just wanted to let you know. NO impound but still very satisfied.

Quick Question Regarding Ticket I Received Or Didnt Receive Last Night...
gdogzgtr replied to zorb_rules's topic in Victoria
I believe that the fine is now $567 for Unregistered. There are no demerit points attached. I am sure that if you have paid rego and receive a fine for unregistered as Vic Roads haven't updated it (which actually happens quite a bit) just send in copy of receipt/Bpay on Stat Dec to civic compliance with fine and they cancel the fine. Yes it's definirely an offence not to have current rego label afixed and is $57 fine no demerit points again. With fines in mail it's a common practice to issue them later in mail. Hope this answers a few questions. -
Yes as far as I know we can enter property for intercept. Have no power to enter house or dwelling though. If you had run inside and not opened door can't do anything about it. If you had committed offence we could follow it up at later stage though. Hope that helps. I can't believe that people have time to just pull over and harrass Import owners. If I'm doing traffic duties I pull a car over every 10 minutes for doing 20+ over speed limit and when performing my general duties. I Catch offenders alomost every shift or have numerous jobs on the plate.

TBH I have wanted to impound a vehicle so I can learn/know what I am doing in future. As he is suspended that is a Brief/Court offence so impounding his vehicle isn't much more work than I would have had to do anyway. Only about 10 minutes of paperwork at time and waiting for tow to arrive. Much better situation for me than the GT3 would have been. The guy was in early 20's and wasn't happy about his car being impounded but understood. Never got angry or anything just not happy which is understandable. I have tried a couple of times before to impound for cars doing burnout and going sideways around corner but the S/SGT's on duty wouldn't authorise them. They like straight forward situations like this more than 45 km/h over on Laser is a certainty or suspended driver with priors after 31st July 2007. I just wonder how penalties at court would be affected as it's somewhat like they are getting immediately punished so I would assume that magistrates will take that into account and go easier on them. It's something we just don't know about.

Today while performing Laser duties in my favourite spot on FTG Rd I caught a car for going 115 in 60 zone. To make matters worse for the driver is the fact that he was also driving whilst suspended. Just plain crazy driving if you ask me. Road works going on and within 100 metres of where I caught him it became 40 zone and taffic to complete stop as down to one lane. Subsequently I impounded his car. It was far from the GT3 I was after, was just a plain old early 90's toyota corolla. I hope nobody seriously thinks I was too harsh or has mercy for him. Just thought I would share. Graeme

From the first time I found this out when I was in the Academy I was baffled. I bet most police don't or didn't even know this rule. I hope it gets changed as it is a safety issue.
