Hi peoples, I have recently picked up my Cams from wade. Now i have droped the head & cams at the place that is going to put the head together. Wade cams said that i am going to need some thicker shims made up? (.050) Now this guy (The guy whos putting my head together) said that he is not sure where to put the shim? and is still asking around. Does it sit under the lifter? i need to know exactly where it sits. Also does anyone know where to get replacment valves from? as he is having trouble finding them. Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Trev

Hi 51jay, I would assume the oppisite as the RB30 motor has a bigger displacment than the RB25. Bigger displacement = more heat. If your worried about cooling, this is what im going to be running with my RB30/25: http://www.are.com.au/Rad/radiator_options.htm

-Joel- : I Havent tryed them, i heard theres another oil called Royal Purpal or somthing like that aswell that is suppose to be as equally good. but i havent used anything but the redline. and i dont think i will need too! gtrken: Yep, these synthetics will be used after the new motor is ran in. sewid: Nop i dont work for redline. And no, they probly wouldnt publish negative feedback under there testomonials for all there products. If you cant see why the Redline range is so good, dont buy it. No ones twisting your arm. This is just my opinion having using just about all of there products in my 33. cheers,

Proven Performance/Reliabilty/Durabilty results sewid, thats what your $100 gets you. (check there site) I get enormus results, when using all these oils. I just wanted to share my expirences with other Skyline owners. If your happy with your oil,.. Good for you. The are plenty of "Mainstream" oils but youl find most of the are around $70-90 for your fully synth oils anyway. Why not pay the extra $30-10, and get the best?. Dont take my word for it. Speak to Tim about Redline products.

What RPM do you think the barsted will come on? A/R = 1.04 I just had mine polished! Very cheap too! cost me uner $20, and since its a high-mount its gota look pretty... =) You cant go wrong with the GTs...
-
For all 6, (exlcuding the purchase of the rods) about $120, but i polished them myself. I think the shot peening was $80 and the freeze was $40.
-
Surely it wouldnt take more than 3.7 Liters?
-
Shot-peened, cyro freezed, polished, stockers! =) When i get my motor back, (on the 5th of jan) i will post pics of the diffrence between a stock rod and one thats been polished, shot-peened etc.

Hi Guys, Since i am nearing completion of my RB30/25 conversion it has come to that special time when i can go out and buy all the lubes & oils, coolant etc for the motor. Since i spent a little over 5000 on just the motor its in my best interests (and my pockets) to keep everything well oiled, and to keep my mind at ease about the quality of the oil going into my motor. After speaking to the Australian distributer for Redline Oils, (Andrew in WA, who also happens to be a motor builder) we have both sorted EVERY Oil, lube & Coolant needed for my motor. Below is a list of the best Redline Oil that you need for ANY skyline (R31,32,33,34): 10-40W Redline Motor Oil 3.7L $100 (Engine Oil) 10-40W Redline Motor Oil 976ML $26 (More Engine oil) Redline Lightweight Shockproof 3.7L $110 (MANUAL Tranny oil, Not Sure about Autos) Redline 81-40 Gear oil $54 (Diff Oil) Redline Water watter $24 (This the best Coolant addative i have used!) Redline Assembly Lube $17 (You probly wont need this) Redline Power Steering Fluid $24 IMPORTANT: With the "Redline Water wetter" DONT use tap water! Buy Distelled water and use that. The Chlorine and other substances in normal tapwater upset the chemicals in the addative, and it wont perfrom. I can vouch for this stuff. After personaly using this oil, and trying all the other stuff/crap you wont believe the diffrence it makes. My Expierience on my Stock RB25 motor: The Watter wetter is unreal, my motor runs about 13-15Degrees cooler. My Tranny doesnt grind syncros anymore, much easyer to change gears in the morning, no axel tramp at all, No power steering "grind" on full lock, much better oil pressure. Believe me guys its worth the money. Here is the cheapest best place to buy from if your from victoria: TIM: OIL WORLD 142 Herald Street, Cheltenham PH: 9553 5450 For everyone else contact Andrew here, and he will put you through to a dealer in your state. Red Line Oils PTY LTD · Osborne Park, W. AUSTRALIA · 08 9446 4455 This is just a guide peoples, please dont blame me if you put this stuff in your car, and it f**ks up. Speak to the dealer in regards to the right oil for your application. eg (Drag/street/drift/everydayer etc) Cheers, Trev

Is it the same deal for a R33? Does a RB25 Box take 2.5L? or more? Cheers, Trev -
I was thinking more about security & piece of mind rather than needing more pressure & flow. If one fails you have another still operating....? Just thinking aloud.. thanks anyways

Why dont you deck the bottem of the head? This might be easyier than moving the pin on the pistons & cheaper. Also could someone tell me the formula to find your compression ratio? Cheers, Trev.
