  2. Hi, I had the same thing (15 minutes starts missing) Over about 2 months I changed most things, turned out to be the POWER TRANSISTOR (coil pack igniter) I opened the back (with side cutters) of the P.T and found one of the input fine wires had come adrift. It was like a bimetal strip (broke contact when hot) I cleared away the goo and soldered the wire. WORKS PERFECT
  3. Thanks Kinks, I was having the problem before i adjusted the gap. Yes the centre electrode is very brittle, great care must be taken not to touch the electrode or insulator.
  4. .........I also changed the............. COIL PACK WIRING HARNESS ANY THOUGHTS ON THE ABOVE ????
  5. For 3 months i had a bad miss in my R32 GTR (only happened when engine was warm) I had just replaced the spark plugs, about 1000km (NGK ...6... Iridiums) Then it all started............ 18. Thanks for the replys, My balancer is starting to breakup (rubber part) and i thought a VL balancer may do the job ?
  19. Good one !! That sounds very possible, as the timing light is new and i am using it for the first time. I will check with the old t/light when i refit all the bits. It has to be something like that as everything else checks out
  20. Good thought, Balancer is perfect, I took it off and also checked the dot on the bottom belt sprocket which lined up, (all marks line up including balancer TDC mark ?????
  21. Yes the engine was all warmed up, about half an hour. Thanks
  22. NO1 cylinder primary line (loopped)
  23. Thanks for the reply, I tried a spare cas. (locating pins are all good) same result ! The cam timing is spot on, cam belt marks, sprocket marks, and front cover marks all line up ????
  24. Is a R32 GTR harmonic balancer the same as 3.0Lt VL commodore or Aussi. skyline
  25. I have just changed the cam belt and bearings on my R32 GTR . Cam sprockets, crank sprocket, harmonic balancer all line up with the correct marks. But when i checked the ignition timing it was showing 35 BTDC at idle. I had to adjust the crankangle sensor fully to the right to get 20 BTDC (prior to changing the belt the crankangle sensor locking bolts were always around the centre of the slot) So any idears why the ignition timing could change 15 degrees after changing the cam belt "Please"
