Sliding Performance Hiflow Picks And Installationon Rb20det

Ceffie what gear did you do your run in? I had my dyno today... Made few kw less, but boosts for longer. will do a write up soon. -
Matt, saw your car out at Lala on the weekend.. looks great, the white wheels really made it look good. Simon is claiming my radiator since he has some weird dodgy one in his 32.. so we'll probably swap, but since im not drifting (yet) it shouldn't matter.

why would the oil return need to be changed when the stock one does the job just fine? Its a low pressure line anyway -
gday all, I just put a RB20 box into the 31 and used the 20 electric speedo drive since the R31 one was rooted. Now the 20 drive has a 2 pin plug that does not match the 3 pin plug of the 31 drive so i cut them of and soldered the wires together. However the RB20 drive has two wires, a Black and a Green while the 31 loom has 3 wires, black, red and a yellow (with a blue wire further up tapped into the red wire) So i wired the Black to black and Red to the green on thge loom to the RB20 drive.. and just taped up the yellow wire. Now the speedo does not work until about 40 kph, where the needle suddenly works and reads very inaccuratally (at 60 kph it says 140 kph) any idea's what i need to do to make it work, or should i just get a 31 speedo drive. Cheers Simon

btw, the braided line is only rated to hundreds of degrees so long it isnt touching the manifold or exhaust housing -

i am using the cefiro map burnt onto a R32 ecu eprom. Cubes: yeah i ordered tghe rb25 highflow with the stage 3 wheel. My understanding is that the smaller comp cover wont fit the larger wheels used hence the need for the 25 covers, even then they are machined out. less resonsive then the KKR atm, thats because mines not yet tuned for it. So once its properly tuned we'll see how it goes.however it makes a stack more top end! -

Hey mate! powerband is from 4000 rpm til limiter, turbo takes a little while to spool but once its up to around 4000 it hammers from then on. Seat of the pants tells me around 190-200 rwkw's using my ceffy as a comparison, that had 200 rwkw and feels the same. Copper washer's were hard to seal yes, i should have got some new ones from my work but the didnt have any that size. so i reused the old ones and did the bolt up tight, ran the car and it started leaking so while it was idling i tightened it up until it stopped leaking (this was 1/4 of a turn more thenw hat i had) Jeff from the speed lab did my tune and he has my map as a copy, however this is my cefiro remap and is not suited to this turbo, it was mapped for my KKR. they are not the same really. Im getting a full tune sometime soon! I have exhaust, cooler, and.. thats it 210-220 rwkw is my aim. -

i went out to mallala last night for drift prac with the new turbo on my 32 4 door. I have to say its pretty bloody good, its got a fair wack of power in 3rd gear right where i want it. However i was experiencing some lag issues. All in all im pretty impressed with the turbo, with a propper tune on the dyno, i reckon i can get some more responce, earlier spooling and even more power. -

wasnt able to get to the dyno today, so i had Jeff from The Speed Lab put my cefiro remap that was suited to the KKR 430 onto my r32, while not perfect its still better then running the stock map with this turbo. the ceffy remap was tuned for 16-17 psi, but for safety until i get the car onto the duyno, im running 1 bar. Im getting full boost at over 4000 rpm but before 4500. from then on it pulls extremally hard, Comparing to my cefiro, which had 200 rwkw, this feels slightly quicker. The downside is that offboost and while its trying to build boost down low in the rpm range its bloody slow lol. -
upper oil banjo bolt is easy to get to, use a 17mm socket and extention bar to undo it, the two side water feeds are a bit more fiddly and you need a 24mm spanner for these. undo all fittings at the turbo except for the oil drain where you can undo it at the sump. remove dump pipe and undo the bolts holding the turbo on the manifold and it can now be removed. takes 20 mins

prob about 4000 with a decent tune still, i'll be happy with that -

laggier then stock turbo lol. which its going to be. Tune is going to go a long way to improvoing this, so i'll hold judgement til thats done -

I have the very same turbo, and am equally impressed with the finish and quality of the product. I just installed it on my RB20 with similar mods but stock ecu. Suppose to be getting a dyno and remap tomorrow but this isnt happening now, so im going to run a remap ecu from a similar turbo until i can get to a dyno. its pretty laggy on a stock ECU map i can say that much!` -
Hey Liz, thanks for a positive reply. (just realised i keep posting under my b/fs login, lol) At the moment the car is getting another gearbox put in as the other was rooted... hopefully getting replacement boot and cd player today also. No drift for me at the moment, but will be learning as soon as there is a prac day at Mallala im sure.. however i know that my car is horrid to drift, no angle at all, needs better handbrake and diff.

PM Sydneykid off this forum. takes a while to respond but he's got an awesome reputation. Check out the groupbuy section also mate. If you go the stiffer bars, your going to probably need to lower the spring rate back down to 8/6, then the car will sit flat AND grip once i get mine sorted i'll prob be going 7/5 rates.

10mm Bolt On Spacers
Simon-S14 replied to Richo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
not many people will do 10mm due to the fact that the studs protrude a fair way out of the spacer, meaning you need wheels with the cut outs on the mounting face in order to bolt them on. -
nah shockproof is blue.. also known as smurfs blood lol

For some reason the car had a dyno and hence the 103.4rwkw was found. Car has had thousands spent on fixing it up in the past. Sticking with RB30 for the time being, but i just love the RB20's too much. At the moment i have to settle with what ive got and begin tidying the car up.

No hooning for me (schmenz), lol. i dont want to push the limits on the road... im saving it all for the track.

yeah then it must be. inark needs a backhand slap across the face for painting the interior parts red.. looks so queer. lol the day i got it i painted them all black again!

i dunno, is it? lol
