  1. none, BOV's and drift dont really work too well due to the constant on and off throttle applications and feathering of the throttle, the bov ends up just leaking the boost out when you need it the most.
  2. nothings impossible when it comes to electronics
  3. The fact that everything runs means that is fine. You'd have to hold the ratchet across the two terminals for a longer period of time to do real damage
  4. It's 100% not the car. Everything has been checked. Double checked and then checked some more. I have all the correct parts and nothing pointing towards anything sinister ever pops up. There have been a large number of failed garretts in the drift scene lately. Some of these cars have a Failed Garrett after a few days and then go on to run kandos for a long period of time with out issues So yeah. I'm kinda looking at other options atm. How much for a 6262. What's the next size down from that?
  5. sorry i didnt read through the whole thread but ive got a couple of quick questions. Which turbo would be closest to matching a 35R with .82 rear? whos the precision dealer of australia?
  6. Id probably go the td06sh L2 25g
  7. Class action anyone? Haha
  8. Does smashing limiter have any affect on turbo life
  9. Sure they aren't rb26 cams reground? Does the bolt bottom out if you remove the washers?
  10. It's not the tune. Tune is spot on perfect. Interesting to hear about the bearing cartridges tho
  11. Minimal shaft play and bearings feel ok. Not super smooth tho
  12. My Link G4+keeps the waterpump and fans running for a short period after engine shutdown anyway which should rule that out
  13. hey mate, remember we came and saw you when my GTX died at Calder ADGP round. send me a pm with what you can do with my current turbo.. keep in mind i dont want any change in specs really.
  14. no i havent measured that, i cant see how manifold pressure would be an issue since my highmount manifold is much the same design as a 6 boost one with merge collector and equal length runners
  15. yes Ign cut limiter emap?
  16. many factory turbo set ups dont run inline filters... its not the be all and end all solution. MTQ found no evidence of oil supply or contamination on my GTX turbo they simply could not determine the cause Oil is usually around the 15w 40 SN rated for e85, oil temps dont really go much over 110-120
  17. oil is clean and changed before every event.
  18. yes the checks were all done when the GTX failed.. im well within specs for feed into the turbo, and out the turbo. its not a feed issue
  19. well it isnt, feed is fine, oil supply is fine, oil pressure is fine, have datalogs from hours of track time with no surge. lately ive been having a lot of drama's with Garrett turbos.. I had a GT3076 which died out of the blue, so i bought a brand new GTX3076 from MTQ here in Adelaide and this lasted a month. the turbo out of the blue developed a whistle and then seized quickly after. MTQ and Garrett could not determine the cause and denied warranty. So anyway i then purchased a GT3582R new, cheap as i reused housings off my GTX, this has lasted the longest and now after competing FAULTLESSLY for 2 days at ADGP Round 3 at Sydney a few weeks ago i then put it on trailer, drove back to Adelaide (intake was bagged as i always have for years when towing interstate) and placed in my shed. I started it back up yesterday to move it out the shed and when shutting it off i heard this noise. Im a bit lost to why Garretts keep Failing me, its not oil feed, oil control or temp problems, i have data logs and evidence to back this up. the engine has been the same one since day 1.
  20. damn turbos biting me in the arse AGAIN! back story: car ran mint for two full days at ADGP sydney, no issues at all. put on trailer and towed back home (turbo intake bagged, like i always do) yesterday (2 weeks of sitting around in shed) i started it up and brought it up to temp then moved car out to do some work, shut it down and noticed a bad noise... wasnt there before. heres the vid the worst part about it is this is Garrett number 4 for me now....
  21. yes stock RB30E not ET pistons. drives just fine off boost, would easily be an awesome street package
  22. Stock manifold does 300 rwkw easy. Can even run a space with ex gate on it. Don't waste your time with shit aftermarket manifolds.
  23. just go straight e85, mixing is a pain in the butt.
