Hey guys, Took my 33 to sandown on the weekend for the drift day on brand new Bridgestone Potenza RE050A- 245/45/18. These tires are grippy as! But are the worst when it comes to form in which they wear out. Rather than smoothly wearing out they were simply just losing big chunks & strings of rubber. To the extent now where the tires still have 80% tread left but are now losing air because some chunks that have come off are obviously a little too deep... For my next set, i want a tire that last much longer through punishment and wears out smoothly without strings and chunks coming off. I also dont care about how grippy they are. As long as they wear out the right way. Ive heard Falkens are suitable for what im after??

haha ur a classic m8! Was good to meet ya & thanks for the compliments above . Your 33 is also a beautiful looking car. About the knife thing.. that was by far the funniest thing of the day. No other words. Just the combination of the guy in a leather jacket with a hardcore japanese looking series 6 RX7 to have a knife hanging around in a pocket was just gold. We need to do it again soon.. hopefully winton next time though for an open track day

What Type Of Rims Does This Leopard Have?
Dean_HR31 replied to MrCima's topic in General Automotive Discussion
They are HR31 wheels... Should be 15s... Look like corvette wheels I had a set on my first Passage GT, but they were polished, not white. -
No one has put in a single comment about how the day was?? Strange.. Anyway, me and my mate in the chaser had had a ball! Was a little frustrating having to turn ur car on and off so frequently but was still a load of fun! How do i contact the girl for the photos?? We left a little early so didnt have the chance to see her at 4pm..

Hey guys, after having my engine re built on my R33 ive been having a problem with the gear selector that i never had before hand. The mechanics must of not put something back in correctly. If im driving the car normally, its nice and tight & fine. But every time i either pop the clutch or change gear at high rpm the gear selector kind of detaches from where its ment to be and suddenly feels like its in no mans land. You can then pretty much move the selector around however you want guessing your way to find a gear. And if you keep wiggling it for a good 5-10 minutes if your lucky, it slips back in and is back to normal untill you do the same thing again. Me and my mate took off the rubber boot etc to have a look inside, we took out that circlip inside that holds the selector in and put it back in praying that it would for some reason now be fixed, but its still doing the same thing. There is obviously some sought of component missing in there. Can anyone help with this with what it could possibly be thats missing or not in right? Thanks heaps

Splitfire Coilpacks Or Equivelant & Plumb-back Bov
Dean_HR31 replied to Dean_HR31's topic in Wanted to Buy
was told they dont fit?? -
Hey guys. Need to get rid of these coilpacks today or tomoro LATEST as im meant to be going to sandown on Saturday and need to buy S2 coilpacks with the money I recieve from these. I bought series 1 coilpacks thinking my motor is a series 1, turns out its actually a series 2. So i need series 2 packs. If anyone has a set of excellent condition 2nd hand ones im more than happy to swap!! Please call/msg me on 0401 682 270 if your interested. Much prefer pickup, but will deliver if i have to.

I dont have the igniter pack at the back of the coilpack cover. Im really confused. Cos the mechanic i paid 10k to build my forged motor assured me its a series 1 motor. And by the look of things he's wrong which really worries me if he got that wrong. The coilpacks i bought that dont fit are the DIS001 ones for a series 1 RB25.

Hey guys, Just bought some series 1 splitfire coilpacks for my '95' R33 RB25det & they bloody dont fit! So i basically need to work out whats going on?? Whether ive had s2 coilpacks mistakenly sent to me or whether my motor for some reason has the s2 leads for the coilpacks?? I have attached a pic of one of the splitfire coilpacks next to one of my standard ones showing the difference. Please take a look at the pic and let me know what u think. Appreciate ur urgent help! Driver Dynamics Sandown Drift Day
Dean_HR31 replied to Dean_HR31's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Awesome stuff mate. Is the track wet or dry?? I thought they keep it wet? In those photos its pretty clearly dry... So the pro's come in the car with you? What sought of excercises did u do? -
Hey guys, im attending the next Driver Dynamics track day at Sandown on the 7th of March and just thought id get some peoples opinions on their experience there if theyd been before. Are u let free on the track at all or are u stuck doing little handbrake turn exercises and constantly stopping and starting? Feel free to give me all the goods and the bads. And ALSO post up any pics that the professional photographers take of ur car on the day... or even links to videos... thanks! Dean

Hey guys, Unfortunately i need to buy coilpacks. My 33 is making just over 260rwkw and is starting to miss/pop under boost/high RPM. Just want to know if its really worthwhile spending the extra $250 on split fires over the red Coilpacks Just Jap are selling at $399 delivered. Ill only go for the Just Jap ones if they REALLY DO perform like the split fires because i really dont want to take any short cuts or pay for things twice. So basically whatever information/experience/advice people can give me on this it would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks
