Has been a pleasure to own as my daily driver for the passed 6 months. Thanks to the long gearing, it is surprisingly very impressive on fuel economy too. The Engine, Gearbox & Diff is absolutely A1. The gearbox slides into gears and the engine feels like it has more tourque than most new V8s. The interior is the way it would be straight from Holden, no rips, tares or fades. The Body is also completely straight with no paint fade anywhere. The tailgate however is a little dented - very common with utes. Further details of the Ute are as follows: Modifications/Changes: - The VN Engine was upgraded & replaced with a VS model V8 5.0 (under 200kms on Engine) - LSD Diff has been rebuilt - Exhaust & Extractors - Heavy Duty Clutch - 15inch Interceptor wheels all round with genuine c/caps & R/W tires - CD Player - Sports Steering Wheel Replacements/Repairs: - New Water Pump - New Heater Tap - New Thermostat Gasket - New Clamps on all hoses - Rebuilt LSD Diff Things that require attention: - Rear Right Shock leaking, should be replaced

  5. Yes definately not the right gear... it was my first time on a track with that car (besides the sandown drift training day) so I was a little scared of 3rd to be honest! But that was only for the 1st half of the day untill i built up the courage in the afternoon! Was about 9799800 times longer/better/smoother/faster. Ive been practising 3rd gear a fair bit so i definately wont be using 2nd again at the next track day...
  6. lol yeah the vn was fun... LOTSA fun! Had shortened pedders sports rider shocks all round, custom 600 pound springs, white rear sway bar & front strut brace, nolathane bushes, manual 5spd 3.8ltr, mini spool with 4:11s, exhaust, bucket seat, 17inch BBS's and thats about it! Had no dramas torching 2nd & 3rd gear at calder lol.
  7. Well it was my 3rd time on a track in general. Before that i did the drift beginners day at sandown and before that i took my decently setup VN wagon to Calder on one of those Wednesday drift nights... lol yeah pretty full on toward the end of the straight... Im bl**** BURNING that my camera died towards the end of the day at Winton. Cos toward the end of the day i built the courage to use 3rd gear through the 'S' bends & down the whole straight and its not on camera! Some serious, scary speed is gained down that straight in 3rd...
  8. Thanks guys, yeah thats correct. HKS25/40 on about 18psi making 262rwkw. Id like another 20 or so to really punish 3rd gear though...

  12. Thanks for the comments guys.. Well yeah off the turbo there is basically just a 45 degree down pipe with the filter on the end of it kinda facing down.. Besides the handbrake setup, its the next thing im changing. I want the filter to sit where the airbox normally is and im just going to put a vent in the bonnet just on top for some cold air...

  18. Yeah ill be trial fitting them on one of these days. Well im running 3 or 3.5 degrees negative camber on the front plus i will have stretched 235/40's on the 10s... so i think the very top of the wheel will be sitting at pretty much the same spot it is now with the non stretched 235s on the 18x9s +15 offset.
  19. Hey guys, I have D1R's on my car and am thinking of selling the front 18x9s and putting the rear 18x10 +22 wheels on the front and then going for a new pair for the rear in a wider offset. My question is, will i have any issues running 18x10 +22's on the front of my car? Im not worried about tires rubbing guards or any of that, im wondering whether i will have any problems with the inside of the wheel rubbing anything like my steering arms etc... If you have an R33 GTST with 10inch fronts please advise! Much appreciated. Dean

  21. If the rears are 10's with a similar offset id PROBABLY consider even though its not what im really after...
