  1. Hi all. When I was driving around yesterday in the hot weather there was this pinging/rattling type noise coming from the motor when I was flooring it. Its never really done this before and I was wondering is this what "knocking" is? Is this caused by hot weather? I have an SAFCII but the knock has always remained on 0 which leads me to think I have not wired this part correctly. Also, my brakes seem to be wearing thin. What is the part number for just the standard run of the mill brake pads or where can i get them from. Thanks all Andrew
  2. Hi everyone. I started a new job recently at a finance broking firm so if anyone is having trouble getting finance or would just like to make a general inquiry, let me know and Ill see what I can do. We have access to over 200 lenders including banks, credit unions and finance firms. Regards, Andrew
  3. so is there a cruise on Sunday or what?
  4. safcii delivered 440. Paul-thanks again for the help with the install. Strich9ine-no idea. Havent learnt how to use all the features yet (any really!) Cruise cruise cruise
  5. Thanks Nizmo. Did you have a bleed valve before the EBC? Just wondering if the upgrade is still really noticeable if you already had a bleed valve. Are you coming on the next cruise? I got my SAFCii from Nengun...very cheap.
  6. ..Finally had my safcII tuned and bleed valve installed. Peaked at 248.7rwhp @SST. So close to 250. Noticable increase in power, especially mid range. Seems like bugger all lag now. Certainly have been having fun with additional performance. Only other mods are exhaust and filter. Is this about right. Anyway, its about time for a cruise isnt it. Still havent been on one and would like to meet all you people. Oh yeh. whats the size of of the bolt from the sump(r33). I am doing an oil change today and need to buy the copper washer but I cant remember what size it is. Cheers
  7. what is it with people saying the goods they are selling are brand new all the bloody time. How stupid do you think people are. Are these people trying to say that they buy all this shit and then sell it without using it. Im sure this might be the case sometimes, but really... Me thinks there is some shananigans going on. This is not directly linked at you MRZac but all people claiming their goods are new. And if they are new then me thinks they are imprting these goods to then sell them locally at marked up price.
  8. wicked. Cheers
  9. Xcuse the ignorance but can you just tap into the power, not completey take the power source? Cause I still want the dimmer to work and I need power for my cigarette lighter also.
  10. downloaded it from Kazza and u cant see shit. Its night time and you can hardly see anything. The size of the file was around 62MB. Is this the right one? Waste of bloody time downloading if it is.
  11. Thanks guys. Managed to get it through the grommet that is to the right of the brake booster. Wasnt much room left in there so had to push through some coathanger wire then pull through the tubing afterwards. Next step is to find a decent location for the gauge. Currently have it gaffa taped around the steering column and surprisingly it looks alright. Can you get a yellow for this? Is it better to have the factory boost guage still connected using a T-piece as well, or just one tube connection from the guage to the intake manifold? NExt step is to wire the guage up. Wheres a good place for the earth and the power to be hooked up?
  12. bought it from supacheap although the gauge still has the Marlows brand name on it. Costed $40. Looks fine and initial results seeemed to be quite accurate. Cant justify spending stupid amounts just on a gauge that looks very similar. Maybe the brand name gauges are more accurate to .5psi or whatever, maybe its just marketing and image?
  13. just bought a cheapie boost guage and was wondering how to get the tubing through the firewall. I tried sticking it through the hole where the wires from the factory sensor dissapear but doesnt seem to work. Im like a kid with a new toy and coulndt wait so I hooked it up with the tubing coming in through the drivers window just to check the acccuracy of the gauge and the initial results seemed very promising. It sat on 5psi on early revs then up to 9psi in the later revs. Anyway, anyone with any ideas and/or pics on how to get the tubing throught the firewall would be greatly appreciated. Also, is it better to keep the factory gauge hooked up as well or not? Cheers
  14. normal cat. Not hi flow. Had to get a new one to get the car complied but after compliance replaced the whole exhaust system with 3" turbo back and hi flow cat.
  15. Complete stock exhaust system except dump pipe. Good condition Any offers? Can be used for compliance purposes.
  16. Redline air filters are pretty good
  17. Any ideas on what I could use to replace the foamy stuff located on the top of where the stock air intake starts? Mine is disintergrating badly and obviously ending up in my filter which means i have to clean it frequently. Can i just remove it or should I replace it with something from like clark rubber?

  19. unlucky rev210. If youve got a dog you can be resourceful with the pre-tenderised roo meat. Might make you feel better.
  20. rob77. The boost peaked at 9.2 PSI on the dyno (remember looking at dyno machine). This increase was just after i got my exhaust done. Does this seem right for hp put out. Have i got some sort of aftermarket hidden something? Hope so
  21. AFR are apparently running to rich. I am getting my SAFC II soon and hoping to get around 20rwhp and then bleed valve hoping for 10-15rwhp @ 11psi. Do you think these are reasonable expectaions. Both mods 30-35rwhp? Pretty sure its a stck ECU. Had a look once and it had "Nissan" written on it. Andrew
  22. what is your guage, how much did it cost and where did u get it from Strich9ine Cheers,
  23. I think my mate who did the compression test did it wrong even though he is a mechanic. After the compression test I took it to Steve at SST, had it dynoed and got 230rwhp with just 3" exhaust for mods. He said there was no blowby and to get a reading of 230hp it was highly unlikely to have low compression. Said nothing was wrong with motor. That certainly made me feel heaps better after thinking my motor was phucked. Might have to get a cheap boost guage to start of with then. Anyone else had any experiences with cheap boost guages?
