ok for some reason its giving me trouble to strat a new topic. here is the other issue i am having. like i said i did a full conversion taking all the r32 mechanical parts and using it on the a31, the diff has also been changed to the lsd one that came with the r32. like others have stated the 1st half of the driveshaft is the same (with out the second half it would bolt sraight up as there is lots of room to pull it back to get the bolts to line up). the second half i needed to get adjusted so i got a machinist to cut swap the end that bolts on to the first half. he said he maintained the same length and he balanced it. but when i bolted it up i needed to actually pull the center bracket back about 1/4 inch to line up the holes on the holes on the body of the car (not the whole drive shaft as i had little or no room room to move it. as you know the center bracket is made up of a rubber piece (not sure of the correct name) this is where the movement came from for me to get the bracket to move back 1/4 inch). now i have two questions linked to this. from this it looks like the 2nd half of the shaft is 1/4 inch to long or is this how it usually is? does anyone know the length of the second shaft from end to end. i am getting a slight vibration (not all the time) i don't know if he did not balance the shaft properly or if it has to do with the center bracket being pulled back 1/4 inch to get the holes lined up. would this cause any damage or the vibration. appreciate the help

hey i need some help. i have just completed installing a complete r32 gts in my cefiro, all mechanical parts has been replaced with the r32 parts down to the steering rack lower control arms etc. has been changed. i took it for a test drive and everything looks and works good, except one problem, the key wont come out of the ignition. does this have something to do with the fact that the car was auto and now manual. did i forget to disconnect something? any help would be good. thanks Roger.

The electrician did the wiring for the gauges once this was done i removed the mounting brackets on the gauge cluster as it was a really tight fit with them. once this is done the next step is basically to remove most of the hard plastic where the old a31 cluster bolted on and just leave the part that holds the spedo cable. after u cut away this u could now fit up the r32 cluster, its a really tight fit so no need to bolt it down. also u need to trim about 1/2 inch of the front plastic that bolts infront the gauge cluster. i don't know all the propper names of the items i described above but i hope it was enough for you to get an idea. i would upload a pic

R32 Brake Master Cylinder In A31
who's next replied to who's next's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks man, you know your stuff, the r32 is from an abs system. thanks i would use back mine and keep the r32 just in case mine goes in the future. thanks again -
Good day, i wanted to find out if this could work. i bought a front cut and i am moving over most of the r32 parts into the a31. i wanted to know if the brake master cylinder could would in the a31. some differences were noted which i have listed out below 1. the r32 is 1" where the a31 is 7/8. 2. the r32 only has one R & one F line coming out of the cylinder where the A31 has one R and two F lines. question: 1 could i use a Y splitter to get the two front lines to work on the r32 cylinder? 2. is it worth the effort to switch the cylinders. the r32 is in better condition than mine thanks

i need some help, tried doing a search but no luck. i bought a R32 front half to get the engine and other parts to get my cefiro going. i like how the r32 gauge cluster looks and wanted to use to replace the cefiro cluster with it. does anyone have the wiring diagrams for both clusters, is this an easy task? thanks

Need some advice, my stock bushings are pretty busted up, i was wondering what brand of energy suspension kits you guys use, how hard are they to install and what about the quality of the ride after they were installed. also do the kits include both front and rear bushings. thanks

I would be receiving my rb20det in dec/jan and i wanted to know what mods could be done to get approx. 300hp. now i have been doing some research but not really finding owners who have gone through the process. i know about the basic mods: 1. bigger intercooler (i got the gtr intercooler) 2. pod filter 3. bigger exhaust (i got one from an r32 its 3 1/4 inch. what other basic bolt ons could be done to get 300hp (going with the rb25 is not an option at this time). any other rb20 owners who have done basic mods (by basic i mean not interfering with the internals of the engine)could you post what was done and what hp was gained. thanks
