  1. anyone heading down from the shire? if anyone is want to meet up and cruise down together?
  2. hey, ive already done a search and havent found anything that applied to me, although one that has been posted recently was a bit similar but still quite different. apart from the whining that i usually get from the thrust bearing, there is now a very loud whining that is loudest when im going 60-70kph. it whines when its ingear, outofgear, clutch in or out, and you can hear it winding down and quiting with speed. this problem arose after i took it down to WSID on wednesday nite. can anyone give me a hand diagnosing this problem, will i be able to drive daily with this problem otherthan the fact theres going to be noise or will i have to fix it asap and how much would it cost? thanks heaps stephen
  3. thanks BezerkR32, will look into getting those as usual just need the cash. that would be great running high 13s, but nxt time i go out, hopefully with the clutch, boost and tyres, ill be satisfied with a low to mid 14. siddr20, i was the same...i didnt want to stuff up infront of the crowd of ppl. what i found helped heaps, was watching wat other ppl were doing, and just follow them. also the officials are really helpful and have everything organised so its easier for u. the best is once uve done ur first run, you want to get out there again straight away and do it again, feels so much better speeding legally.
  4. thanks heaps for the input guys. yeah im looking at getting better. i did have a suspision that the tyres had a little to do with the time coz they didnt seem to grip that well all the time, they seem tempermental. im running some nankang ex-500s at the moment, will look into getting some M/T ET radials, as im new to this do u have any recommended sizes or anything? my clutch doesnt seem to be feeling right either so im gonna get some1 to check that out aswell. i was going to look into getting more power to reduce my times i think ill get other things set up better and then later on gett some more power happening
  5. im gonna keep practicing and i think i mite be able to get it sub 15s, but ive found that last nite over my 4 runs i ran onli 90mph each time, and even ran a 90mph trap speed when i got a 16.2 when i stuffed up the launch. and thats with a varying 60' from 2.3 to 2.8. does this mean anything? any insight?
  6. hey all, went down to WSID tonight and finally took my car down the quater mile. im a bit surprised with my results as they were slower than i had expected. ive posted two attachments being my 2 best runs and was wondering if i could get some input on how i went. car is a r32 GTS-T, mods ive got done are 3" turbo-back exhaust, and a pod filter. i was also running 98 octane petrol, full interior. for me i was expecting atleast a mid 14 but didnt get it. and on launches i dropped the clutch at about 4-5000rpm, which seemed to work best on the last run, but on the first run i slipped it at about 4000rpm.
  7. i guess so... sorry wasnt thinking too much last nite when i posted, was way too tired after working a 14 hr day. well im in for the cruise. ill be in a white r32 gtst.
  8. i saw you aswell now that i think of it on the way up but i also saw another black r32 gtst and it was going down then moutain at about the same time most of the ppl were heading to syd
  9. i mite come if its cool, although i dont know anyone from here so mite be kinda weird
  10. spotted 2GU UP, a black R32 GTR, a stock black R32 GTST and a whole heap of WRX's and a few libertys and legacies going through Mt Victoria. saw them in the morning and some of them in the arvo aswell.
  11. it should be good having it both days. hopefully have some time next weds to go down for the first time, anyone going next weds? if anyone sees me in a stock looking white r32 come say hi dead32 all the prices and stuff are on the WSID website.
  12. ive also been looking for one aswell with not much luck
  13. ive got this problem onli that it happens the opposite way around. it happens when i start driving the car when its cold and stops doing it after it comes to operating temp, i.e after the temp gauge has gone to half way up. any idea what it could be? or if the two problems are related?
  14. oh yeah forgot to add, that the places ive asked wont replace it if its broken even O'briens glass. i think its coz of that small percentage that it could break
  15. hey, ive got this rust area developing under the right hand side of my rear window. ive been told that the rear window must be taken out to fix it properly. now i dont know whether to take the chance of getting professionals take out my rear window and fix it, because ive asked around for some quotes and im happy with the price although theres that slight chance that the window can break when they are removing it. and if it goes wrong im going to need to buy a new rear window. would u guys take the chance? its getting quite big now and i cant get it off my mind. thought id ask some opinions. some additional information, ill be looking at keeping the car for say another year or so until i can get some money to upgrade. thanks stephen
  16. would anyone be able to help?
  17. ive had this problem. its most probably that the sealer for ur tailights has corroded and water is leaking in and getting its way into the tail light. all u need to do is remove the 4 bolts holding the taillight on and slowly push the tailight out from the bolts. u should see somewhere where theres alot of dirt and stuff and water has been going through. then u just gotta tip out the water, remove the old sealant and put some new sealant on it and ur done. the moisture should just evapourate out.
  18. Hey, im looking for an R32 GTS-t rear windscreen. im located in Syd. if anyone has one or could point me in the right direction that would be great. also how much would i be looking at to get one? Thanks Stephen
  19. i had a problem with that aswell, i had a mechanic mate look at it and we were both too worried we would shear the bolt head off, so i decided to get a workshop 2 take it off and fit it so theyd have 2 deal with it if they did.... got the dump/front removed and put in for $115... took about 2 hours coz the guy who did it was quite clueless about the whole thing
  20. i got these mods on an r32 gts-t just put on and was wondering if i need a dyno tune?
  21. i got one of these installed into my car and i think the guys told me it was a master actuator that they needed to put in. they supplied and fitted it for i think it was $50. with the other questions i dont have a clue to go about them hope this helps Stephen
  22. ive got this problem aswell. i think ive concluded it to being the doors from the engine bay to the incabin being open. they managed to close once and no hot/warm air leaked in but stayed open the next time i turned the heater on. i have no idea how to keep it closed. i tried playing with the diagnostic at nite and could hear the door opening and closing, once i got it closed i turned it off, then i turned the fan on and i could hear the doors opening but when i turned it off i didnt hear the doors closing, the motors i mean, so that what i think my problem is and it mite be the same for you aswell
  23. whew, thanks for that.... thought there was something wrong and that id have to fork out some more cash to get fixed. its a relief. thanks Stephen
  24. hey, ive done a search but couldnt find exactly what i was after. yesterday i installed a new cat and catback exhaust. after it was all done i started it up and took it for a 20 min drive to my parents, when i pulled off the M5 and stopped at the lights i could smell something similar to burning oil. i drove back home and i could still smell it. it smelt as though it was coming from the drivers side in the engine bay, but not so much from the passenger side. i dont know what the problem is, if any one could give me any ideas it would be great? it also seemed to be boosting fine, hitting about 12psi, 2 psi more than stock. Thanks Stephen
  25. just thought id mention what id learnt the other day off my uncle while changing my brake pads, to push the pistons back in you could use a G-clamp, which makes it much easier
