  1. 4.2ghz here with a 2500k and stock cooler Main benefit of i7 is multiple threads per core but they don't really come into play with games (yet)
  2. Things like this make me sad. Bad luck bud, hope they catch the a-hole that did it
  3. Even at stock speeds you'd see more of a performance increase from a better graphics card than a better cpu though.
  4. i5 2500k will be more than enough for your intended purpose I wouldnt bother with a locked 2600, an overclocked 2500k will surpass it with ease, as well as being about $75 cheaper. With the money you save you can also get yourself a decent CPU cooler, or spend more on a GFX card
  5. I think what he's saying is that the car sounds in Forza are far better than GT5, which I agree with.

  8. I'm now rocking: Asus Xonar Essence ST Beyer DT250's Logitech Z5500's Audio Bliss!!
  9. But you just backed up what I said? Mac is increasing, PC is decreasing. I never said they were the majority.
  10. Yeah the gestures etc are probably the best part of the update, I wouldn't have bothered if my Mac hadn't supported them.
  11. Who said anything about Mac mini's? At least Apple are willing to try things differently, thats why their market is expanding and the PC market is shrinking.
  12. I downloaded this today. It's kinda weird because it feels so different to OSX Snow Leopard, yet strangely familiar because they've taken so many aspects of iOS and copied them. I really like fullscreen apps, super easy to switch between them using a three finger horizontal swipe, its great for things like Mail and iTunes to just leave open in the background. Mission Control I 'get', but I'm probably not the target because I rarely have more than a few programs open. They've also put in 'Natural' Scrolling. It's really weird at first, push up and the page goes down, just like on a phone. You get used to it fairly quickly though, then it feels normal. Pages now have the same 'bounce' as on an iPhone too. Now when you type it also does the same iPhone auto-correct thing where the word pops up and you can click on it. There's a few other cool things too but I haven't really come across them yet. Anyways, it's nothing too major, but for $32 I reckon it's a worthwhile upgrade
  13. So here's a question.. How the hell do you guys do squats at home? I managed to lift a 30kg barbell over my head, but I found actually doing the squats fairly easy. Upping the weight just made it impossible to lift over my head. Any ideas?
  14. Jebus, $400?? Anyone know of any cheaper ones? Heh. Cheers man, some good advice in there. Yeah no leg work yet because after running 5km they are shattered. I might try some squats now though. As it is after this workout I end up shaking, can barely lift my arms to raise a glass haha.
  15. Hey guys, I used to have a gym membership, but I always found it too much effort to actually 'go' to the gym, so my money was getting wasted. For about the past 6 months I've been working out at home, for me it works much better, the only problem is its difficult to exercise some muscles properly We have here: -Dumbells -A barbell -Bench press (also does incline etc) I'm also hopefully buying some sort of setup that will allow me to do lat pulldowns soon Anyways, these days my workout consists of: -5km run -3 sets of 10 diamond pushups -3 sets of 10 incline bench press -3 sets of 10 bicep curls -3 sets of 10, erm, dunno what you call them but you hold your arms bent in front of you and raise them at a 45 degree angle upwards and outwards, works your shoulders + delts -3 sets of 10 dumbell bent-over row I do that 3x a week, plus I do an abdominal workout 2-3 times a week on my rest days. I am a skinny bastard (63kg hah), but after about 4 months of hitting it hard its fiiinally starting to show some results Anyone else got some good excercises for around the house?
  16. Maybe its just me.. but I have A pillar gauges, and cops don't seem to care at all. I've had several police cars drive right alongside me trying to stare me into doing something stupid and nary a peep. It even passed over the pits with them mounted, haha. My car is fairly clean/understated though, I guess if your car was hektik drift spec it might be different..
  17. I hear what you're saying, a guy at work changes his plugs on his VK V8 every 1000kms because 'it runs heaps better'. I tell him he's dreaming... I suspect that the biggest factor on my car was the pod filter, it was fairly black with 10,000ks worth of dirt (I actually thought K&N filters were red, turns out they're white and sprayed with red oil). Fresh plugs also results in a stronger spark, ie better burn and more power
  18. Yeah, I reckon plugs every 3000 is too often. I'd be getting concerned about wearing out the thread!!
  19. You change plugs and clean your air filter every 3000? That's dedication hah.
  20. Hey guys, This topic is kind of self explanatory and pointless, but anyways.. I serviced my car today, put in some new plugs, cleaned my K&N air filter, and god-damn, it feels like I have gained 20-25kw all the way through the rev range! From a rolling start in second gear with 265 tyres it was spinning the wheels! (never used to happen) I really can't overstate how much better it feels to drive. So yeah, if you haven't serviced your car in a while, give it a shot, you may be surprised!
  21. Thanks man Yeah I know it was cheaper some places, but I got mine locally, cbfed waiting for it to arrive
  22. I have a 203BW next to it like so: Shitty pic, but you get the idea. I don't think I can justify the extra 289 big ones before I upgrade the system to run them, heh.
  23. Got Darksiders yesterday for $5.. That game is freaking awesome!! Can't believe I didnt know anything about it. Would suck without an X360 pad though..
  24. Got my Samsung 2443BW today. Its sweet.
  25. Huge steam sale goin on right now, get yer cheap games while you can!
