  1. Mine aint standard
  2. This is just personal opinion, but Soarers look shite to me. Good mechanical package, but those headlights... I just cant get past them.
  3. Or just drive a crappy car on your P's like everyone else should and mostly does.
  4. I actually did a course in music production. Loved it! No money in it though unless you're REALLY dedicated, i.e. I reckon it'd take 3-5 years of doing that part time while you had a day job before you could live off just doing that. I plan to get back into it one day, but for now I'm working full time (in the automotive industry funnily enough ) and doing a Commerce degree. I figure I'll make the big bucks and retire by 35. Easy, right? Thats the plan anyway, and a pre-emptive shut-the-hell-up to the naysayers
  5. This wont need retuning because the AFM compensates for the extra air and adds fuel right? Gonna have a look-see tomorrow. If its stopped raining. Which it hasnt.
  6. Er.. while thats annoying to see it spooling earlier than my smaller turbo, its not entirely relevant now that I have a GT-RS I am pretty happy with the way it drives though, much smoother coming onto boost. Unfortunately after 6 months of being f**ked around by yellow sticker, getting hail damage, and having it stuck at the workshop for 3 weeks getting tuned guess what.. its been raining all day yesterday and today, which means I can't really test the acceleration properly.
  7. So thats just a matter of fitting a tighter spring, right? Would the stock BOV have anything to do with this ie leaking? How long were you running that power level? How do you know you didnt have blowby if you didnt have a catch can?
  8. I think he is concerned that excessive blowby will develop if I go any further HP wise. Apparently the standard exhaust manifold starts to become a restriction at this level too, ie excessive exhaust pressure/heat buildup. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  9. Apparently I did my maths wrong.. its 252rwkw according to my pootah!! Obligatory shitty phone pic of dyno graph
  10. Just got word from the tuner.. made 260rwkw . Boost rises to 16psi and tapers to 14.5 towards the top end. Apparently it has more in it but my tuner advises not to go any further without installing a catch can. Also had to fit 550cc injectors as the stockies maxed out around 280rwhp. Pick it up in half an hour, cant wait!
  11. I was looking into liqid LPG injection for my old BA 6. Was strongly advised not to go ahead as there is currently no leglislation in WA for what mixture of propane/lpg (this was a while ago so im foggy on the specifics) is supplied. Propane has a much lower octane(i think ), so liquid injection of LPG with a high propane content can lead to pinging/engine failure. The problem is magnified in a turbo car for obvious reasons. Thats just what I was told by a gas fitter, feel free to correct me if im wrong.
  12. All this stuff is null and void as apple have upgraded the macbooks recently to i5/i7 etc etc
  13. But Roy doesnt torched tyres = way more tractive effort = more speed if put down on the road? I would say that your guys with RB25's are maybe using too much throttle/shitty tyres & suspension setup..
  14. I dont mean to turn this into an R32 vs R33 debate but the comments about R33 handling are just BS in my opinion. Stock, I'd agree they are a bit flobbery. Put some good suspension bits in and they are right up there with R32/34. Plus RB25 poos all over RB20 off boost.(Sorry RB20 lovers )
  15. Sorry but that is just completely wrong. A high flow cat is one that is physically larger to compensate for the lack in flow of a smaller unit, it will do the job just as effectively as a standard unit (assuming it is a good quality item). The staining occurs from running a rich tune.
  16. OH (wait for it) SNAP!! haha
  17. They get commodores to drift dont they? R33's are lighter than those for sure!
  18. All the Mac haters have NFI to be honest.. I have a MacBook Pro 15", the new one with i5 core and SSD. I am not any sort of Mac fanboy, I bought the MacBook kinda out of the blue and I've gotta say, as a laptop, and doing the things I want to do, its effin fantastic. A different experience to Windows and all the better for it. The hi-res screen(an option) is absolutely gorgeous, the response from the SSD is epic, the touchpad with gestures and kinetic scrolling is so inituitive you will wonder how you ever went without it. Battery life is far superior to any other laptop. Now I know its not the best for games.. but thats why I have a desktop PC Bit pricey though I'll agree there.
  19. I vote no wing. This is my car though so I am biased
  20. Dont forget your typical Commodore/Falcon V8 usually run the longest gear ratios in the world. I used to have a BA Fairmont, and that thing would do 90km/h in first gear. I think if you changed diff gears in these cars it would be very interesting. I think a stock Gts25t can be compared to an early LS1 Commodore in terms of performance. Both do 0-100 in around 6 seconds.
  21. We are talking about power and torque not efficiency remember..
  22. http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_2807/article.html Here is a better way of comparing engine designs
  23. I said AS LONG AS you don't put the boot in. Turn in at speed with no throttle, and the car will understeer. Which is what it should do. Also I wouldn't call stock suspension a joy to drive.. its relatively comfortable but much too soft and squidgy for my tastes. But as I'm getting off topic, I'll shut up.
  24. Pump turned out to be screwed.. was only flowing 120lph New one going in as we speak
