  1. ? how can honning a second hand 100,000 kay bore possibly get it perfectly round? let alone perfect piston clearences on all sides of the pistons. stock cast pistons maybe if your trying to do everything on the cheap, but i hope there not forged pistons.
  2. this quote above is concerning me, and i was wondering why no one else has mentioned it. what type of pistons have you got? and what size are they? std or oversize? forged or cast?

  8. how much is it? you do realise that its only oil colled not water cooled? the 2 links you have put up are for 2 completely different creatures. the garret web site is a 3076 while the pic link is what looks like a journal bearing high flow with a 4 bolt rear. the cost of waste gate, manifold, and dump mods will blow the changover out considerably.

  10. i purchased my quad frame from newcastle and the zx10 engine from near sydney airport. i took my mate and drove Adelaide, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide , only stopping for fuel / servo food. 3200 klm in 36 hours, but i must admit there was a few No Dose taken on the return trip. we had certain time retraints is the only reason we attempted such a feet, and would have been home sooner if the NSW police force hadnt held us up for 2 hrs thinking we were drug smugglers. the amunition and 2 x 14 inch hunting knifes in the car didnt help either.

  16. we should probally ask a more accurate question of the topic starter. how much torque do u currently have, and how much do you want. tangels auto stagea above has a bit over 300nm out of a 25. my built auto 25 has over 500nm, mine comes on sooner and holds for longer. so how much do you want?

  18. need to meet you down at anzac raceway and give you a run in the wifes legnum. back on topic, once you start making over 200 kws the amount of air that needs to flow thru your whole system is massive. have you ever stood behind your car during a dyno run to see how much air comes out of your exhaust at full revs? im sure my car gets pushed along from the thrust coming out of the exhaust. point being that anything in your system that interfeers with this high flow rate is going to rob you of power. last time i seen you you had a small muffler etc has this been addressed? needs to be 3 inch from dump to rear tip. you mentioned your intercooler was only small. wonder if you can fit my ASE cooler in there? the 33 and stag front end would be fairly similar? maybe? im stripping my 33 for parts so let me know if you want any bits. highmount gt35?

Hi fella whats going on with your car? seems like a heap of money's been thrown at it for minimal results. the crack in the head still seems fishy but i guess the machinist will allways blame a part that he didnt supply. too late now but you could have purchased my forged long engine for $4500. comparing our graphs is like chauk and cheese, there is certainy something holding your car back from making power, wether its the turbo or something else im not sure but at 80kph i have 40kws more then you and then finish 120kws more up top, so the high flow dosent look as responsive as it should be. not to forget that i have over 500nm of torque from 90 kph onwards. same trans, and same dyno. i was hoping for your sake that the work was gonna make a decent improvment but it hasnt turned out that way. new turbo time me thinks.
  20. either the rev limit has been changed drastically or, that ones in 3rd and ones in 4th?
  21. pm sent wanting $4500 for the long engine. $3000 for the ex manifold, turbo, dump etc.
  22. its a bit ghetto but you could cover your lines with 1/2 inch poly pipe, and tape up the ends, that would stop the smell until you change to solid or teflon.
