  1. the one in the pic is a full custom remington 700 adl converted to synthetic stock, heavy fluted barrel and detachable box mag. its a 7mm rem mag calibre, running 175 grain spitzer boat tails. scope is a kahles 8 x 56. my mate was using a 375 H&H with 270 grain interlocks. i have a half hour movie of shooting them which is handy to look back on shot placment etc to see what works best. of the 25 that i shot myself prob 18 were head shots. it sits them on there ass instantly.
  2. had a great week up in the NT checking out a few new stations. me and my mate managed to drop 44 camels and a dingo. considering all the rain they have had up there in the past few weeks we were suprised we found that many as they have all headed back out into the desert because of a abundance in grass etc out there for them at the moment. every time they get to a boundary fence they just stomp thru the wire and tear the fences down, if it happens to rain and cut of the access tracks, it can be up to a couple weeks before the station workers can fix the fences. in that time they can loose hundreds of cattle. when you think the cattles worth between $400 and $700 each you can start loosing your income source very quickly. government est. theres over a million camels wandering around the centre of oz. and there's not that much food for them normally so they are eating all the cattles food. so obviously the more we could find the better. In total we did 4300 kays in 5 days and i havent slept since 530 am yesterday morning but im glad to be back with the family for NYE. here's a pic
  3. no worries, if you see me before i see you come say high. in a blue 4x4 with lots of grog and guns hanging out either side.
  4. what a crock of shit. i have a 3582r with a .82 rear and and i can see 24 psi by 4k most of the other figures quoted from the other turbos in this thread are all full boost somwhere in the 3k - 3.5k range and you will find 90% of gt30 size turbos are all gonna be around the 4k mark as well. so what do you call laggy as hell? imo do it once and do it properly a gt3582r/iw will fit low mounted no worries, running at 15 psi you will make between 250 - 270 rwkws. if the motor gets rebuilt then up the boost and make 350rwkws. the thread title has been answered you make up your mind what your looking for. remember guys you can build a mental set up and just detune it for reliability.
  5. Tree huggers stop reading now... im heading up to the NT to blast the crap out of some feral donkeys and camels. 10 days of drunken random slaughter. should be fun.
  6. i think you will find a highmounted stock turbo is completely legal. its just like a set of extractors. an yes race only my missus now drive's a legnum
  7. rewening? wtf sort of word is that? typical 17 - 18 yr old response. its not me! im sensible its every other teenage driver just not me. look up the word niaeve!
  8. rb25 gt3582r-iw high mount onboard
  9. pro cams are for solid lifters
  10. are you going with someone else that has a quad? if so a small trailer maybe an option. you can get them about 1m square, they weigh stuff all so easy to tow and you can sit in that. mount a swivel chair in the middle and you can back it up to the surf and fish away.
  11. do we get the authentic shoes for $2 a pair if we buy in builk?
  12. i have 2 quads but im not real keen on you taking them down the beach. there both racing quads anyway so not ideal for what you require. what you really need is a old farm quad like a timberwolf or trx etc that has racks for your esky and tackle box etc. often find them cheap on ebay. failing that theres lots of cheap chinese quads around at the moment. just get a 2nd hand one thats still running and use that for the trip. im thinking around the $300 mark should get you something half useful, and then just sell it as soon as you get back before it rusts. also take a heap of crc with you and go to town on the quad before you ride on the beach the first time.
  13. sorry for the delay guys. as of yet i havent bothered with the cam timing, or touching the high stall. i have spent a bit of time on the tune however and got the power back into the mid 320 range at 24 psi. so im thinking that the tune just needed more time on the ignition and afr's to sort out the change from the cams. i have since purchased a new vehicle for the missues to drive so the 33 will soon be up for sale. i guess someone esle can crak 350 rwkws in it and do a mid 1 0.
  14. wheres the timeslip? you cant claim the title without a timeslip. dyno printouts or sketchy, mph tells all.
  15. i spent $23k on mine just purchased a new car for the family so my engine is up for sale. $12k if your interested. 350rwkws. all included.
  16. innocent until wrapped around a pole. get serious would you. accidents take 1 second to start a chain reaction ocurring. over the next 1 - 3 seconds your descision making will alter if you live or die. how fast and capable your descision making is, is your only chance of survival. i for one got involved with a rally club at 14. over the next 4 yrs 1 night a week we would get a group of teenagers and a few senior members together and build maintain etc a group of rally cars. these were raced in the events held around SA. thru my experience with the club i got to co drive in a mazda familia rally car in the 95 Adelaide rally. these sorts of experiences for me were pricless on many levels. both in learning the art of rallying from a pro, and also in the mechanical and building side of things. these sort of activities were supported by the labour government at the time and they funded a lot of our trips etc to help teenagers interested in this sort of thing, by keeping them of the streets. we were given government plated vehicles to get to the events and show the youth's what rallying was all about. not long after john howward got in office the whole organisation was scrapped. no more rallies for those that couldnt afford to get there themselves, and more importantly no where for teenagers both mail and female, to come along and learn about motorsport.
  17. but when was the last time you heard of a 30 yr old killing his freinds in a import? havent we had 3 teenage fatalities in the last month alone? all driving turboed cars? if your 16 - 24 and think your the worlds best driver, and hooning to impress people is fun then your very niaeve.
  18. yea thats the one 38k on the clock, fairly imaculate all over. guy imported it thru j spec but had a loan on the car i think from day one. so when the car was still in japan he was allready having to pay the loan off. 10 months later (june 08) it was here and complied. he has done less then 4000 klms in it and now realised he couldnt afford it so i grabbed it.
  19. guys its a legnum i gave the thumbs up to sleds post, not the stag post that was at the same time as mine. by the way when is sled ever wrong? his obvious ability to guess things before they happen were proven at the dyno day.
  20. thats funny as im assuming they pre drilled those holes 2 mm deep, and then ran the bench grinder over it until the holes were gone so they knew they had decked enough off. what a disgrace.
  21. notice my thumbs up and the stag post were at the same time? but yes 4wd ftw. it launches real well out of corners.
  22. have you got a complete stock rb25det with auto trans?
  23. aus post are usless. could still turn up at anytime over the next 2 weeks i had a small parcel sent from tas to sa. it took 23 days. wtf is that.
  24. im a oldie yes BUT Did you know? A teenager's first 500 miles of driving are the most dangerous. During that time, teens are 10 times more likely to crash than an adult. Two-thirds of the teenagers who died in car accidents last year were not wearing seat belts. For every 10 "close calls" in a car, there's one car accident. 16-year-olds crash at a rate that's nearly one and a half times as high as 17-year-olds. 15 to 20-year-olds make up 7 percent of licensed drivers, but suffer 14 percent of fatalities and 20 percent of all reported collisions. 53 percent of teen driver deaths occur on weekends. Of all fatal teen car accidents, one-third involve speed related collisions and one-quarter involve the use of alcohol. Teen Car Accident Prevention/Parents Can Help Limit cell phone use. Choose safe vehicles. Make sure your teenage driver knows to be careful when backing up in that SUV or mini-van; even with use of rear view and side view mirrors, there is a big blind spot to the rear of the vehicle, where a child might be standing as your son or daughter backs out of the driveway. Be a good role model. Always wear your seatbelt, never use your cell phone while driving, and don't be an aggressive driver. Train teens for poor weather and other adverse driving conditions. Discuss the importance of abstaining from alcohol and drugs, especially while operating a vehicle. Insist that your teen wear a seatbelt. Remind your teen that a car can be a weapon and driving is a privilege, not a right. Even though your teen may be legally eligible to drive, you can still decide if your teen is ready for the challenge. Restrict night and weekend driving. Teen car accidents are more frequent after 11 p.m. on weekdays and after midnight on weekends. Make sure your teen knows that it's okay to call you if he/she needs a ride home. Tell your teen that you won't be angry or upset, no matter what. Drive with your teen. You can discover weaknesses behind the wheel and offer guidance. Restrict the number of passengers in your teen's car. The more friends your teen is carrying, the greater the risk of an accident. Now these are all valid points. in my view there is no way a 16 - 20 yr old should have a powerful car. they just arnt mature enough to control something thats out of control. especially when they have mates in the car on a friday night etc. go home guys and leave the street racing for the movies.
