  1. As Roy said Snowy, try decreasing the front rebound rates (ie, slow down the rate of rebound) and see if that makes a difference.
  2. Lewis Hamilton was flying out in a few days, that didn't protect him... BTW Graeme, where you working in the Moorabbin area this afternoon?
  3. Your best thing to do would be to talk to CAMS and ask if a cage certified by MSNZ is accepted here. The CroMo cages are usually done to an FIA spec that is recognised pretty much everywhere, so it may be ok. Otherwise that are some companies in Australia that will certify the cage for you. You might be Ok with the car in that spec to run as an open class sports sedan, they have fairly liberal rules, and do not need working headlights.
  4. Like the one that has the stupid woman walk in front of an oncoming car without looking? Maybe the ads should be cracking down on pedestrians who seem to think that blindly stepping out onto a busy road expecting traffic to stop for them is acceptable. Some of the roads around me have recently had their speed limits changed, some are now up to 40kp/h lower limited then they were previously. there has been no changes made to the road environment that would dictate this change, other than the police have twigged that they are the local rat runs between major towns in the area. Guess where the speed camera's and radar traps have been setup lately? Also, did anyone notice that one of the fatalities that has been recorded on Victoria's roads over the Easter weekend was of a elderly male found in his car in a quiet sidestreet with minor panel damage to his car and the tree that he hit? Seems like he had a heart attack and was dead before the incident happened, but it is still recorded as a road toll. Same as with the truckie who died on the Eastlink a month or so ago, I think that he had a medical issue as you could see that the truck had run down the barriers before it hit the pylon.
  5. It's good to see that Mark is now upset with scoring "only" second place, as it means that he has the desire to go for the wins when he can, rather than just cruise and collect. I do wonder if Red Bull had covered two different scenarios though with the car setup, with Mark maybe having a bit more of a wet setup that Vettel.
  6. Live timings stuffed for me here as well.
  7. It's live on ONEHD if you have it.
  8. Borrowed from elsewhere, Also, Webber and Rosberg went out after the Ferrari and McLaren teams in Q3, but still got through, so it wasn't the weather that did them in.
  9. Whilst that isn't good, it good for me as it means that it's not a fault somewhere in my systems.
  10. Has anyone else not been getting email updates for their subscribed topics? I haven't received any for the last few days.
  11. A few things to add to these posts. We live in a representative republic, where we vote for people to represent us in running the country. A true democracy would require the whole population to vote for every single decision that has to be made. A media commentator made a comment recently that in the last 50 years, we have changed from a top down society, to a bottom up. What this means is that we used to admire, respect and want to be the same as the upper levels of society (not false people like celebrities) such as the engineers, scientists, managers etc. Now we seem to be admiring the bottom feeders such as the trailer trash "celebrities" (Paris Hilton comes to mind) and sports people (Fevola and Carey) and trying to be like them, with anyone who aspires to greatness in the sciences or business treated badly. This will lead to the downfall of our society, as no longer will people be willing to expand their abilities for fear of ridicule.
  12. How about the amount of energy that the desal plant needs, from reports that I have heard (people fairly high up in the power generation industry) the desal plant at full output will consume 1/3 of Victoria's total power generation capacity. This plant is also on a guaranteed supply agreement, so guess who will have their power cut to make sure that the desal plant doesn't go off line? The make up of the organisation involved in the funding of the build and operation of this project is also interesting, with a lot of the union superfunds getting in, so their members get paid exorbitant rates (around 150K p/a is the starting point, according to people that I know who are working there) and you have to have the union cards to work onsite, so there is another way that public monies are being pushed into union coffers.
  13. Posted in the wrong spot.
  14. I'll be down there tomorrow and will have a word with them.
  15. Who did you speak to there?
  16. Meridian Motorsports in Friars Road, Cheltenham has it in stock.
  17. Dane, The ball bearing units tend to get sloppy really quickly, where as the splined units tend to stay tight for much longer. Also make sure that they are keyed so that the wheel can only go on in the one direction.

    Holy. Crap.

So they have used a very brittle, dense and heavy material (tungsten) for the exhaust system, f**king idiots.
  19. A mate of mine had a crewman that was used to tow weekly, pretty much every regular service interval (10,000k's) he had a new gearbox put into it. Apparently, the issue is caused by the load on the front propshaft misaligning the gearbox casing and causing the gears to go out of alignment.
  20. Snowy, How did you find the DefNder? any issues with comfort/use?
  21. The clutches in them do not cope with towing, even with loads under the limit (mind you, the 1600kg limit is for a car with a 65kg driver and nothing else on board) stick with the auto's with the heavy duty tow pack and they are Ok.
  22. She's in the back seat with a different type of kebab in hand....
  23. Most car designers would love to get rid of the wing mirrors, as they contribute around 10~15% of the overall drag figure of a car, the technology is there to totally eradicate the rearwards blind spots with camera's but car companies are afraid to introduce the technology in case it backfires and the public choose not to drive that brand of cars.
  24. Ken Lay (Deputy Police Commissioner, and the face of the anti speeding ad's) gets busted speeding through a country town. Bloody Idiot
